Hi. You might have a cartridge filter?? Is it taller and thinner than the sand filter shown in the video?? If it is a cartridge filter, there will be a collar that will twist anti-clockwise to open the filter. Feel free to email a photo to [e-mail] as we can have a look for you

You didn’t explain what the “rinse” was for?

Rinsing settles the sand or glass media down and removes the last of the particles and debris in the filter.
