Who knew that after pouring the water over the coffee, you leave it to steep & then stir it.
Now my coffees taste so much better.
I always used to stir it straight away, thus ruining the taste of my Americanos.
I’m so glad it helped you out and made your Americano taste better ❤.
I was watching a video on how to use the moka pot and the Italian lady said that once the coffee machine has made it you must stir it before pouring. Apparently the first bit is much stronger. So you blend it with the last bit
Esspresso is what you perceive it to be. It’s not what others say it should be.
The foam is the coffee bloom. You are extracting all the amazing oils of the bean without being robbed by the paper filter. And yes anything after 3 minutes it does get bitter. I have also experimented for 2 years or more making coffee all different ways without a coffee maker. Also read up on the subject extensively. I've put coffee and brown sugar in a handkerchief and steeped it all around comes out amazing! I've thrown the grounds right into the hot water off boil of course and then strained it off. One can learn a lot through experimentation.
Ahh coffee bloom ❤️. I’d never thought of the oils that are lost through a paper filter. Yes 3 minutes seems to be the point of bitterness. It’s neat what you can learn through experimentation. Do you ever use a moka pot?
@@Dairyfreeginger no I do not. I wake up at 4:20 a.m. so I use an automatic coffee maker these days. LOL I always like the French press
@@mgtowlevel5293 I love the automatic function
@@Dairyfreeginger I experiment a lot. The oils are essential. But so finicky. Because I think the old oil goes a little rancid. So it's a constant juggle with time.
Everything is a bit ephemeral.
The golidocks thing
Like stewed tea after 6 minutes
Tea water must be 100 percent hot.
Coffee 97 percent.
@@mgtowlevel5293 the French press is my favourite.
I pour 1/6 cold water on top of the poured cup. It just makes it smoother
I’d call that a strong French Press, definitely not an espresso. But, if you like it, that’s great.
Love this! I will definitely be trying this out!
Thank-you! I’d love know how it turns out for you.
This is perfect!! It is such a great help because I don’t have a machine that makes espresso!
Thank-you! I’m glad I could share it with you. I don’t have a machine either and I make this most mornings 😁
Very easy to make it. Thanks 😊
So easy! I need to give this a try!
Yes! It’s so simple and I make it all the time.
Awesome, thak you very much so easy to follow gotta try myself
I never been more happy with a recipe thhaaannkk you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank-you! And you are welcome.
How cool is this!? Definitely trying it out!
Thank-you! I hope it works well for you :)
Thanks so much for this :3 , finally made the Espresso dip for my Tiramisu.
Ooh that sounds so good! You are welcome.
such a helpful guide! thank you!
Thank-you and you’re welcome :)
this is perfect!! i need to help making my espresso without a machine!
Thank-you! Yes it’s so simple to do :)
I'm going to try this. Thank you! 🙌
You are welcome 😊
Great suggestions. I love my espresso and when I travel I miss my caffetiera. Perfect timing as I am leaving this weekend and I cannot bring my machine
Thank-you 🙌. This would be a great option to still have some way to make espresso!
I've never made espresso like this! Imma have to try it
Thank you! I'm going to try this. We just had a tornado go through (thankfully no damage) and I haven't had power for the past two hours.
You are welcome. I hope you get your power back!
Excelente trabalho ❤❤
Love it
Así siempre lo eh preparado, a una taza, una cucharada colmada de café luego se vierte el agua hirviendo a la mitad de la taza y se deja reposar un minuto, pasado el minuto se le agrega el resto del agua hirviendo y listo!
i have been doing this before i see the video, kinda glad that i got it right its not just me who did it haha
That’s great. I’m glad I’m not the only one too 😅. I had to find a way to make a shot of sorts
Thank you 😊
I need to try this! How much water would you say you use/does that glass hold? I'm looking to try this as a stopgap while i save for an espresso machine.
I use just under 1/2 cup of water. That’s great. It’s what I did for a few years and I loved it as a substitute!
Very very beatifuullll👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❣️❣️❣️
Im very impressed! I espessial like part. About wait 20 seconds else burn the coffee! Withh those fine particlrs I guess its eady to burn and biytter. You wouldnt want an espredso machine to blow up anyway. At lesst I wouldnt. Happy sipping😅❤
Thank-you! I’m glad you liked the tips. I’ve found it’s an acceptable substitute until I can afford an expensive espresso machine 🙂.
Where do you get your espresso cups? Thanks for the tutorial
They are actually a little glass cup I get with my yogurt! #reuse 😆. It’s the “Oui” glass cups from Yoplait, these ones here: amzn.to/3UCWGeU but I get the dairy free ones from Walmart, Kroger.
You are welcome!
Great spoon to pick up coffee. Where can I get one?
So it’s actually just one of my Tablespoon measuring spoons. And it was given to me as a gift. I did some searching and found some it it’s called the “Tupperware ergonomic measuring spoon”.
Her is the same set I have listed fairly cheap on Etsy. www.etsy.com/listing/1412066352/vintage-tupperware-white-measuring
It looks like it’s a vintage set that they no longer produce 🤷♀️.
Thanks
You are welcome!
If you have a thermometer you want the water around 190-200f
Thank-you for this tip!
Если нет кофемашины, приобретите гейзерную кофеваркау для приготовления эспрессо
I would call it strong coffee at best. But the technique is very good and better than an instant coffee. With little equipment. I would still rather use a moka that is dirt cheap.
This is basically cupping but with a finer grind.
What exactly is cupping? I’m going to have to research that. I’m sure I’d like it if it’s similar to the immersion method I share here.
@@Dairyfreeginger Cupping is how people test coffee. The James Hoffman & Tom Scott collaboration is a good example.
@@qwertyTRiG thank-you!
Will be looking them up.
Does a coffee grinder not count as a machine?
Yes it does! However, you can make it without a coffee grinder. I’ve made this recipe several times with pre-ground coffee.
How much gram bean coffee use
I’m actually not sure how many grams I use. I can weigh it for you today abs give you an amount.
No A machine. A HALF DOZEN
Joking.
I like the double walled drinking cup.
The good cup of coffee is quite a ritual.
Similarly a Japanese tea ceremony.
Pre heating is a good factor.
I live in Herefordshire where the water is disgusting and hard.
So much depends on good water
Our kettles get a load of lime fur/scale.
I noticed that up in Scotland the kettle get a black fur /scale from the soft peaty water.
The same water that makes the best whiskey.
Nice video.
Keep on experimenting .
Thank-you for all your tips! Experimentation with coffee is a lot of fun. It’s nice to know you enjoy that as well.
now for the steamed milk and chocolate
That sounds amazing!
It can not be considered as espresso because the recipe does not considering pressure. Yes, it's espresso-style just because probably taste is super-concentrated, but the whole idea of espresso is using high pressures to make a beverage.
I thought she was going to use a pressure cooker or something. This is NOT expresso!
Read my take
The purpose of espresso is coffee fast, hence the name.
This is not espresso. Just strong cold filter coffee ☕️
Yes! It’s not true espresso but serves as a perfect substitute for it when you don’t have a machine. There is no pressure involved and espresso takes both heat and pressure to create.
How is it cold if it uses boiling water?
@@kyoxtohru112she does use boiling water but the thing is she didnt maintain the heat of it in the coffee. We all know that if you leave something hot out for a while it will go cold, same thing.
The point of an espresso is to maintain the heat so its pressurized. Without doing so you wont get espresso
In Indonesia we called KOPI TUBRUK
That’s really neat thanks for sharing that! I have never known the actual name for it other then calling it immersion or something like that.
w my sister
I l9ve you mam
I'm not mocking you. I will try your method. I have been watching the moka pot people rebrandinng the old espresso pot.
Duh.
Its still lousy in my opinion.
I think you are on to something.
Because in end it's about the taste.
At moment I just use the French press and don't let it steep. I then dribble a sixth of cold water on top of the poured cup. It's just the smoothest cup of coffee I can make with the least amount of equipment and time.
That’s the most ridiculous coffee strainer I have ever seen 😁
Ha ha yeah me too 😆
Who drinks espresso guyz its very bitter personally i like cappuccino
Idk I’m watching this to make a mocha
That's not an espresso at all
I’m not quite sure what you were expecting without a machine 😊. It’s an equivalent to espresso that can be used as a substitute.
That's not even close to espresso
Oh I know! Thank-you so much :)
Stop arseing about and get yourself an aeropress
I’m sure they’re lovely but personally I quite enjoy this method!
Of course this is great of you like strong coffee, and I guess it works quite well with minimal tools. But please don't call this espresso, and the foam isn't crema.
A like none the less for advocating proper coffee!
horrible looking shot, not espresso at all
Thank-you so much ❤️
@@DairyfreegingerLove the sarcasm
@@KingsleyComanIsCool ha ha thanks.
No 15 bar of pressure, no espresso, sorrrrryyyyyyy
Ridiculous
Why thank-you 😊
