Prime example of "Just because you can do a thing, doesn't mean you should do a thing."
a hack? more like a masterclass in grinding, soldering, plumbing and woodworking.
not convinced the coffee beans & resin cup would last long.
it would always stink of coffee & the beans would chemically break down over time.😊
Resin is not food safe either
Stink of coffee and chemically break down over time.... Sounds like my life.
all for one cup!!! WOW!
No, no, no and no.
Prova a farne una di pasta e fagioli....:-)
All the commenters complaining about the glues and soldering probably don't realize that's how most things in our world are manufactured 🤷🏽♀️
😍😍😍
@larutadelcafe
That's how I like my coffee, with a hint of superglue taste
I was thinking the same
Don't forget about the tin :D
And that soldering that most likely contains lead
And don't forget those notes of mellow mold and dish soap permeating from the unsealed coffee beans leaching into your morning brew.
Totally foodgrade Materials!
If I could afford a lathe I could afford a proper milk steamer.
Steam wand
At what point did he use a lathe to make the steam wand?
@@coryclark66 He uses a lathe at around 4.30, though I suspect you are trying to be smart by suggesting that he didn't use a lathe to make the steam wand section. However, imo, the milk steamer is the whole device. It is not a steam wand without a stream source. 👍
If you own a lathe you don't like buying pre-made things
@@octimus2000 True. However, the video's pitch is that it's a "hack", which means a trick or shortcut to increase efficiency and productivity. While I have no issue with this attitude or approach, per se, it is none of those things. If he'd called it "make a cool steam wand* I'd would have said nothing. 👍
*Requires lathe
Food safe materials at their finest
REALLY surprising that there are people who don't know this hack.
Its so simple too
I did see one "hack". Not the machine.
I do this every morning before work 🥰
What a waste of my time.
Yeah it’s a well kept secret that only the professionals use to keep people like us behind
Nicaragua coffee taste notes : resin, superglue, clear finish 😂
This guy must have plenty of time on his hands.
It's actually several guys.
Lol 🤣 I call him "Prisoner"
That statement could be used on almost any DIY project. When you DIY something, you're usually giving up time and effort in order to save money (though not all the time), learn and enjoy the experience. A lot of people like it.
Nah. If they HAD time, they'd just turn it into a useless tool.
@@kriskhaira but when the amount of energy you use is more than the actual price of the tool and your product is less strong and effective...then its called "Hobby" aka "waste of time and money in order to have fun"!
I like how most comments are pointing out how dumb the ideas from this video are xD
On a rainy day, I click on this video, press pause and scroll through the comments.
While drinking a cup of coffee with an added drop of epoxy resin, mercury and superglue.
@@Apollo440 You know song million miles away? i like that one
You too can make the equivalent of a $90 espresso maker for only the low cost of $10,000 worth of tools.
I sold my car to make the expresso
jajajajaja thas exactly what I was thinking
Indeed, for half the price of the tools you have a "la marzocco" coffee machine, crazy coffee and no need to be a plumber!!! 😂
Great excuse to tell the wife why you spent 10 grand on your work shop.
They sell a varíant like that already. But without the valve. They don't want a posible hand granade.
How do you make a hand grenade? My boss is getting annoying.
@@Zack-lq9tb If the valve is kept closed the build up of pressure inside the boiler would probably make it explode or if not it would most probably become very dangerous, that's why pressure cookers have a lot of safety measures and the ones that are commercialy made don't let you close the steam pipe. Boiling water in a closed container that can't let the steam out is a big no no, because the pressure WILL make the container let the steam out, just not in a safe or controlled way.
@@kirowashere9661 0:58 of the video. That brass hex-shaped piece on the base is the pressure release valve, that is standard on all Moka Pots. Unaffected by this mod of the top section. Though, at least an explosion would prevent you from a possible slow poisoning of yourself from the rest of the components......
@@wingnutbert9685 The only wrong component is the solder, who some say it may be lead tin. And even then, I don't see it being that solder.
@@irrespondible Yes, it's could be lead-free solder. However, the manufacturing of the lead-free solder as well as the other brass and rubber components may very well not be food grade or safe due to their material make up. :)
I'd rather not mix the drink with the flux
Cool video, nicely filmed. But the endresult should be something you put on your shelf. Don't use it.
It is astonishing how much effort humans put to create utterly useless objects.
And yet here we are 😂
I think we have a different definition of "hack"
It’s a hack job alright… no disclaimers, no information about safety. This is not okay.
I'm not too good in DIY and plumbing BUT has steam build up in the chamber doesn't that create something dangerous if you don't have a safety valve.
technically that "button" on the side (the metal looking one) is a pressure escape valve. just in case
Given the materials used, we are no longer at risk for health
That’s not FairPlay! you’ve copied my hole video!! Idea, design and every trick is from my video🥺
I spent 99% of the first video with the Mark Wahlberg confusion stare, and the last 1% with Forrest Whitaker eye.
.....And the rest of your days filled with shame and regret.
Superglue, Epoxy ... na, nothing bad for health.
So you destroyed a perfectly good coffee maker to "make" a milk steamer when you could have bought a perfectly good stovetop milk steamer for half the cost of materials and you would still have the coffee maker?!
Please do the world a favour and don't breed
They have no clue. They just have stolen a couple of popular videos and glued them together. Also what steamer do you have in mind when mentioning that?
🤣🤣🤣🤣.....says the person buying a 'stove top milk steamer' to heat milk......🙄🤦♂
@@wingnutbert9685 the purpose of the steamer not only to heat the milk but to turn it into uniform microfoam that is hardly possible other way
You copied even every single step 😢
No one is going to bother watching a life hack channel. I clicked this because I thought they directly stole your video and immediately reported it lol.
If that mug could be made with food-safe glues and resin then it would be a nifty idea.
Or use it to hold the inner cylinder of a 'thermos' mug.
No..
@@tienglongmy So you..... _wouldn't_ want it made properly and with food safe materials?
What terrible trolling.
I can never get that time back…
06:41
Hey Google:
Is resin safe for hot drinks?
We recommend not heating any cured epoxy resin more than 165F. Do not place food or liquid with temperatures at or above 165F onto the epoxy resin surface.
Please don't give people ideas that would end up in poisoning.
When you have certain number of viewers who admire you (and would potentially copy your "hack"), then take the responsibility for what you're putting out there and at least let it be clear that this is not suitable for human consuption. Unless you care for views only, of course, in which case you don't have to and all is fine.
You know when you watch a nonsense video just to find out just how much clickbaity nonsense it is ? Yeah, wasn't worth it :D
Using gloves with a sander ...lol
I bet the tin soldering tastes wonderful, use silver solder with food.
And buy a bialetti brikka instead.
Cheaper better not hazardous

Look how they massacred my booooy
Bruh. Just buy a stove top milk streamer. This is not needed.
Insanity.
The last example seems ground coffee on the left and instant coffee powder on the right side. It looks tricky to me 🤔
Saop and coffee
I too wanna move to the land of diminishing returns for all the things
''Few People Know About This Hack'' Now everybody will be doing this
That milk was totally not steamed properly
All of this is RIDICULOUS!!
Stealing other people's videos is not cool
Я лучше из стеклянной кружки или керамики попью чем из этой на видео
соледарен с вами
This isn't a hack. It's a project.
You know you can steam milk in a microwave in less than a minute instead of buying a cheap device or making a cheap device out of another one over several hours of time investment with a lot of tools and materials making it cost more than just going out and buying the real tool that's probably still better made.
Awesome skills to do useless things.
Just with a few things anyone has at home and five minutes, who would've known. Totally handy in did.
hope tat s lead free solder?i
Holy mother of ridicule....
I'd imagine professional chefs just buy the tools they need. Because they're too busy preparing food and earning a living.
All of that work for nothing, all you needed to do was heat up some milk, pour it into a French Press, and then agitate it with the French press plunger by going up and down with it real fast.
But you did make it look really cool, and you get that cool sound from it when the milk comes out. By the way, Bialetti makes an electric frother.
5 minute hacks gone fancy
Bro what's wrong !!!!!
Just buy a French press 😂
Kidding i luv what you doin but really consider getting French press 😂😂😂😂
i mean cheap espresso machine that are kinda shitty in making espresso still can produce good milk stemer/frother. And i bet i will be much more cheaper buy and get better result than modified moka pot and do this.
NGL, I kinda hate you for this. And now… I have to watch more of your helpful diy stuffs to see if the hatred is warranted. 🤷♂️
Aldi sell milk frothers for 20 bucks and very easy to use. Mmmmm, what to do, destroy a percolator and spend hours and money on buying parts or just buy a frother.
What a waste of good coffee he literally destroyed a month supply of coffee to make his decorations have actual coffee beans patterns
OMG how to turn a moka pot into a poison bomb! The comments are hilarious! (I love my plain old moka pot…)
Achei a cafeteira italiana adaptada para produzir vapor, maravilhosa, só achei errado colocar solda de " estanho chumbo" no bico.
Yeah that definitely didn't look like plumbing grade solder.
Yeah, wrong solder but the rest is fine.
Antigo Império Romano approves, OMNES SIMUL MORIEMUR
If it doesn't exist yet, someone should create a facepalm emoji. I sure could have used it here...
Yep, gonna jump on this right away ‘cause I got time, money and love chemicals in my body 😂😂😂😂
Why didn't you just buy a moka with a pipe? They've been made for generations.
Yah know? A silicone mold of a similar shaped glass would have been far more efficient and less wasteful of the coffee but then again some people like showing off they can afford thousands of dollars worth of equipment that isn't accessable to the average person.
I didn't see a single tool that the average person can't afford. Some you would have to save a bit if money is tight, but nothing unaffordable. And tools you don't want to fork out money for, like a lathe (300$ at home depo for a cheapo one) then you can always find a wood shop in the area that you could pay around 150$ to have access to items like lathes, planers and the like. Everyone in my family, and extended family has personal access to lathes, and most of them are alcoholic hillbillies.
I don't even know what to say. You're insane in a good way, but this is insane.
Well it's my fault really 🤷♂️, I shouldn't have search for "overkill coffee machine DIY"!
What a waste of effort, just put a small amount of milk in a microwave, and then froth it up with mini whisk to make cappuccino
I turned my Corolla into an armored personnel carrier. I don't know why other Toyota owners don't know that hack.
What do you mean? Everyone knows the hack of destroying a moka pot with power tools!
This hack ? A complete project ! Is a hack ? Is like we can do it in 3minute at home ? 😂😂
Just get a bellman stovetop milk steamer and save yourself the fuss. Don’t do this…
yea then just forget that it is heating up with the key off and make a homemade b0mb (first one)
It's not a "hack" its a modification and a dangerous one as well - steam explosion.
Not exactly a Hack. A reinvention. A hack is using vinegar to remove mould.
This also works for making quality cannabutter
Yeah nice "hack"... totally handy and usable in everyday life. /s
thats more like a re invention than "hack", any1 tried, how was the results?
I thought he was going to make like a flame thrower or something.
Weber Workshops will charge $475 for that milk steamer.
What the hack
I'm not a food safety officer but lead tin on cooking utensil? Really?
The pressure is regulated with the original overpressure valve, at around 4 bar. So there should be no problem. But normally you need an additional valve for stuff like this, same concept like pressure cookers.
But with his cup, I would never use that.
I know, right? I was thinking the same thing!
So how are your going to clean this thing? It’s gonna grow mold inside.
otherwise, you buy a bieletti mini express😁
I got news for you.... NO BODY is going to do that project.
thats how people make nothing out of something😂😂
It was better when only a few people knew this hack.
*As if the gloves make this more dramatic?*
only professionals use lol i will never watch another video of his again
Nice work hope that solder was stay silv 56
30s in, I’m down for a cup of Folgers Instant.
Lead solder is probs not the best material for the job dude...
Waste of time and money
Video ends 3:38 After that is just good idea, bad execution
tot resin cannot resist hot temperature?
Won't give that a try for sure...
