I have been training in Krav Maga for 10 years and one thing that our teacher taught us never to say is, "calm down" as this is challenging the offender and more likely to make them more angry. We were taught passive stance by having our hands up and looking weak. In this situation you always agree with whatever the offender is saying etc as this increases his or her ego but drops his or her guard at the same time. When he or she drops his or her guard and your hands are still near your face that's when you can strike the offender. Also with that first attack with the hand around the back of her neck, I would personally give the offender one chance to release me. If they don't I would eye gouge them, knee them and drop them.
I think *Krav Maga* has a lot of potential but, a few of the moves are too complicated in regards to self-defense. I found myself modifying a lot of the Krav Maga techniques. I hope to dig deeper into Krav Maga again by the end of the year.
