I agree too! My Epiphone LP Custom showed up flawless, and sounds fantastic…!! And my boyfriend has a Epiphone Sheraton II that he will never part with…
Right?! This guitar is so amazing, even cheap versions of the Casino/ES-330 sound wonderful (Beatles, Grant Green, etc.). I have a 1961 Casino reissue, which is just like a 330 for the most part, as they all are. It was about a grand 1K a few years ago, and these versions costing half as much are almost as good? Cheers!!
Jon, of all the RUclips guitar dudes, you are the best guitar player of the bunch. I especially love when you play that fusion stuff. You are one beautifully melodic player.
Great guitar review as usual, fantastic playing as usual as well. I bought mine last year, came with a wonderful Epiphone gig bag that’s real quality. Highly recommended kit'
Kung Hei Fat Choi from HK! Great video - I picked up my Casino here 3 years ago and love it. The neck is perfectly slim and the join to the body works fine for me, it feels light and 'compact'. I got the 'tobacco?' burst and did a bit of modding - Lollar P90's / '50s Wiring / Bone Nut. I figured this might take it a little closer to the original US made ones that the Fabs all played. Gorgeous guitar, great seeing it here, Jon. Cheers!
Love your playing Jon. You showcase a guitar's tones beautifully. I also appreciate the slow fly past in close up that you do of the front and back of each guitar. Thanks.
I have the worn black casino and it’s my favorite guitar I own. Sounds amazing acoustic, better plugged in. I actually think acoustically it’s louder than my acoustic guitar.
Jon, I would like to thank you for your channel. You impart information and exquisite music with each episode. You help bring peace and tranquillity in this crazy world. Have a Happy and Happy New Year.😊
This guitar is an absolute classic, which still puts me back in my childhood memories, watching the Beatles! 😄 And having played a Casino many many times I can attest to how great they are for songwriters / players. Of course in your hands, Jon, it sounds a lot better than it does in mine. 👍I can tell you have as big a soft spot for these wonderful instruments as I do, and having recently bought an Eastman semi-hollow with humbuckers, it definitely makes me wonder if there is room for a Casino, with its P90 pickups, on my wall again LOL 🎸
I had one of those 20 years ago it so. Really nice guitars. When it comes to F hole semi, or full hollow guitars I prefer the 330/casino over the 335. It's all about the neck placement for me. If Epi made a casino with the Gibson headstock shape, I would buy one in a second!
Glad to see you do a couple Epiphone guitars. A few years ago I picked up a Joe Pass Emperor II Pro. It's a bigger Jazz box. But the build quality and sound is really good. It just feels great. It came down to the Casino or the Emperor. Wish I could make mine sound as good as you play !!! But I keep working on it. ! Thanks Jon. (my other id is Old Cowboy in Colorado)
Very nice guitar and beatuful playing. I'm a major P90s fan, especially in the neck position. I also like them in a Tele, combined with a bridge humbucker.
What no Beatle song ??? yeah, yeah, yeah.... Isn't it funny how so many more affordable guitars come with gig bags than those more expensive models ? Have you ever tried the PRS SE CE 24 Standard Satin ? I love mine !! A $499 mahogany body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard with split coil humbuckers...it's so resonant and well made at any price point...AND comes with a really nice gig bag ! As always another great review and demo ! 😊
I love my Casino. As far as I understood The Beatles had their Casino's for practical reasons, like it was light-weight, and not too loud (! 😉) which made it very suited for their studio work (songwriting/composing). Which benefits me too, living in a thin-walled apartment building. The 335 has a centre-block, though, and i noticed that the Casino and the 335 differ in the fret the body starts at, so played in sitting position the neck is closer/further away from you. A 335 is surprisingly heavy. (being semi-HOLLOW). Epiphone has its own semi-hollow, the Sheraton, as well as Gibson has its own Casino, the 330 (not very common). I find it confusing Epiphone had a 'new'' edition every two year or so, so online it's hard to guess whether a model you can buy is the the newest, last years new one or a previous(-er) version. Prices for them differ. Happy New Year?
I have a red one that was a Chicago music exchange exclusive that I got new for $250 USD. It’s a great guitar and I have really expensive guitars. Only gripe is the pickups are really hot, so you gotta keep the volume no higher than 7 normally.
I love the Casino, but can't buy one just yet. The plugged in tone is very easy to get using other guitars; at least getting close to it. The acoustic tone and the light weight can't be duplicated using a solid body guitar. Those are the reasons I probably will get one or something similar to it. The Grote Jazz hollow body guitar is similar without any cutaways. The neck is thinner. I really do like the thicker Casino neck. Jon, ask the people at City Music if the Casino Worn has the same neck profile as the standard Casino. Maybe they have one on display and you could feel it and let me know. None of my local shops have one. The Casino Worn is unfinished wood with different stains. They cost much less than the standard Casino.

“Budget” is actually a badge of honor these days. I prefer it. The leap in quality from imports has been awesome!

I’m sure it is!!
I have one of those. I agree they are good value.
Some people confuse it with the Casino but, it’s different. 😊

Hi. Whats the brand and gauges of the Strings? Thanks
No idea about the brand.. .010 gauge
Your link to Epiphone shows that it is discontinued. Is this a new version?
Nope.. it’s available in sweetwater.. I spoke about this in the video

$740.00!!! Are you kidding?!? 🤩👍

Whenever I play my Casino I switch to finger picking style - no other guitar makes me do this.

How comfy is it to reach the upper frets? lets say if you're used of an ibanez RG
It’s ok.. but a bit different
