John Williams: how emotional do you want this track to be?
George Lucas: Y E S
One of my favorite scenes, really emotional scene as well
Hello general
One thing I love about this version is you can much more clearly hear Luke's vocal bursts of furious anger as he fights Vader. You can feel the seething rage he puts into every single lightsaber blow, making every clash feel that much more visceral. Mark Hamill did an absolutely stellar job at portraying a (albeit temporary) fall to the dark side through anger.
Pretty sure the track is called "A Jedi's Rage".
@@The_Lucent_Archangel Close enough. "A Jedi's Fury". 🙂
And in VIII, he showed us that hate can get to even the best of us.
@@zondrabarth4508 Aye, and it still remains my favourite score in all of Star Wars. The way John Williams manages to convey tragedy, desperation, fear, anger... Fury. Is nothing short of masterful. His magnum opus for me, personally.

1:15-1:32 that bit sends chills down my spine every time
The way the Emperor laughs after Luke cuts off Vader's hand. Evil is always there watching, waiting for a chance to rise.
Little did the Emperor know that he was lost and doomed.
"I am a Jedi.
Like my father before me."
I didn't really know my dad growing up either. But I know he had a rough life and made alot of mistakes. I'd like to think that, like Vader, he fell to the dark side but still had good in him and is grateful that his son remembers him for the decent person he use to be.
Greatest scene in the entire Star Wars Saga 😍🎥
I don’t see a choir. How’d they do the emperors theme?
They have a synth triggering samples of a male chorus. It kind of sucks.
The dark side is a pathway to things many consider to be unnatural.
@@jsb6975.ah.crapbaskets lmao RIGHT!!!!😂😂😂 Gahh dawg, it's like: people, don't get technical with me! 😂😂
@@TH-sw1yx nah its the dark side
So be it, jedi
The ultimate good vs evil theme
And the irony is that Vader is the good and Luke is the evil. Not deeply, of course, but still enough. Vader was just waiting for Luke to bring him back since Empire, and Luke went to the Dark Side to do it ; and it is in my opinion why Luke is a more powerful Jedi than Anakin, and will ever be the most powerful : he uses the darkest aspect of the life (DS of the Force) to make more brighter the good side.
That is a personal interpretation, and that exactly is why I think this is a top 3 SW Scene, along with Binary Sunset and Yoda and the Force to, me.

There is no Good and Evil here, only a Father and son relationship. (And star wars is particulary insidious and manichean to make you think that's the whole saga is about Good and Evil, which is not)
Anakin was enphazised as "the Chosen One" by Lucas himself, and made Anakin a *Whiny Brat* with an over Zealous lust for Power, only his Love of Padme made him control his anger and lust of power up until he feared the loss of his Love (Padme), the one thing/person that still had a symbiotic/harmonious role in is Life.
While Luke is more stoic dweeb* who must repent his Father "mistakes", while Han gets the Girl for no reason. (in Empire Strikes back Leia wasn't meant to be the sister of Luke, only in Return of the Jedi,Lucas made it so for "Han Solo Ark").
Luke by not accepting the "Emperor's offer" (to be a slave to the darkside and emperor himself) finds a 3rd way, to let himself die; But Anakin/Vader saves him, because it's the only thing that still holds meaning in his Slave/robotic Life.
I was there
FattyWatty123 how’d they do the male voices for emperor’s theme?
"Good. Goooooood."
This scene is perfect.
The true climax of the whole saga. The rest is irrelevant. The sequels never existed for me.
True...
I agree with every word written by you.
Perfect Comments
I agree
What sequels?
I will see it on after my 40's birthday on january 2024 the live concert of this movie☺️
God I remember seeing this in person. Such a great experience
Do they play the whole movie with the orchestra?
@@silence3314 yes
@@perfume3946 that’s awesome
@@silence3314 I always wanted to watch an orchestra in person like the one in the video from the Star Wars movies
The applause!!!
Emperor the only dislike
Vader is the second. (Not Anakin)
The Return of Jedi is my favourite part in Star Wars Saga. And Where it ends for Me Like for many many Fans. I Love the Applause. I believe there Has Never been a villain than I have hated more than Emperor.

Very good video
No choir = fail. So sad.
Overreacting ass.

Never seen the original star wars, but this is lit
I get chills EVERYTIME!
Wait so do they just watch the whole movie with the orchestra playing the music? If so, where do I buy tickets?
Right
@@15gamershaven89 someone finally replied to another comment and said they do it to the whole movie.
The Mann Theater in Philadelphia does a few movies every summer.
(At least they did before covid and idk if they're back to that yet)
Screw Rey vs Palpatine. THIS is the final duel! One of my favorite fights ever in cinema history.
Simply the best. Nothing can ever top it. Even though I was born in 94 and the prequels came out throughout my childhood, this is the mountain top for me. Luke is the best. His bravery, character and morality has inspired me since childhood. Obviously I don’t count what happened in the prequels because it seems like the antithesis of his character and also undoes Anakin’s character arc entirely. But this scene is it for me man. The ultimate fuck you to the Sith. Luke will always be the best.
Luke is literally fighting for his family
si tu no lo haces tal vez tu hermana lo aga
- NOOOOOO....!!!!
did this happen in the 2010's or the 80s in the cinema
Use your logic. He's using a phones camera. Look at the quality. Def not 80s
