President said Kuvira is a threat to the world, but back when it was Unalaq, he didn't care because it was not a threat to Republic City, it was like only a civil war. And actually, Kuvira doesn't care about the other parts of the world, she try to take Earth lands and Republic City is a part of this. So, when president said it was a threat to world, he meant the Republic City.

If Kuvira was given free reign to take the United Republic, she would, without a doubt, have invaded the fire nation as an act of revenge for the 100 years war.

@@sofiawaqasi5947 i don't think she would attack fire nation, but with the power of the weapon she'd probly got some confidence and maybe that would make her attack fire nation, not because of the 100 year war but because of the power she held. She didn't see hundred year war's cruelty and what it did to earth kingdom. Maybe an air bender would have that revenge but it's not how they build i guess.

@@quasimodo8643She specifically condemned avatar Aang and fire lord Zuko, saying at the end of the hundred year war they exploited the Earth Kingdom to form a new nation-state. She would absolutely form revenge colonies within the Fire Nation as restitution in her eyes for the war.

@@sofiawaqasi5947 she was actually a orphan, she was lost without her parents and the earth kingdom don't care much about people, you know. So she didn't want to let the people of earth kingdom into the leaderless and helpless situation. That's why she wanted to reform the Earth Kingdom into the Earth Empire. So everyone in the earth kingdom was going to be feel safe when she's done. She didn't like what Zuko and Aang did to Fire Nation colonies in the earth kingdom so she wanted to take them back but Zaofu was never a colony but she wanted it too because it was Earth Kingdom land. So she is all about taking earth kingdom lands but when she's done it means she captured the Avatar and her team, she will think she is unstoppable and she will probly attack the Fire Nation with the poison of the power just like Sozin.

This episode cements why Zaheer is my favorite Korra villain: the reason he lost is because of the flaws in his ideology. He fought for anarchy because he believed it would lead to a utopia, but what it actually led to was a power vacuum that made it easier for a tyrant like Kuvira to take over.

But being that he believed that anarchy was a righteous path then he should have known it would lead to a power vacuum and if he didn’t then it made him seem more like a idiot

It's not really fair to point out flaws in his plan when he was defeated and stopped. In his ideal world people like himself would stop people like Kuvira, hence why he stepped in to help Korra. Moreover, Zaheer did not believe in a Utopia, he simply saw the Lawful Evil of defined rulers as a mistake and believed people should not be subject to the whims of some overlord.
The problem with his plan is that it depends on people like himself who can and will stop the evil overlords like Kuvira. So what happens when he can no longer do that? But again, it isn't fair to criticize his world when it straight up stopped from occurring.

@@michaellancia45 That's because he never was an anarchist really. More like an anti-authoritarian assassin.
Anarchy has never been against a power structure, it's more like a true down-top democracy where every single city votes on everything the city does.
Anyone that says that anarchy are pro-chaos and 'no rules' and all that stuff has probably never read a single book on anarchy to begin with.

To be clear what was actually deeply effecting Korra was not her injuries or the fact that she was almost defeated or even that she was nearly killed, but the fact that when the Avatar cycle was going to be ended she had no control over anything. The poison had brought her into the avatar state and weakened her to the point where she couldn't defend herself and while she was dying from that, Zaheer was killing her by taking away her ability to breathe. This is why Korra says she has "no control" and Zaheer responds with "Hold on. Don't fear what might have been."
Korra has been shown to value the position and idea of the Avatar this whole series, the idea that it would end on her watch, and that she did her best and had no control over the outcome, is where the real core of her PTSD resides.

I think out of anyone in the entire Korra series, I respect Zaheer the most - he's an extremist, but he has principles. He hates authority, and will do anything to see it destroyed, or even weakened. He doesn't hold on to any grudges against Korra - as if the fact that he can still float isn't enough evidence of that - and even though she represents everything he's fought against for years, he's willing to help her if it means taking down Kuvira.

11:35 - 11:40 this cements my views that Zaheer is a lunatic villain since he didn't know that Kuvira achieved so much power in the 3 years of Anarchy when its common knowledge that Anarchy is a power vacuum, a period of anarchy will lead to a militarism, city states, basically someone will take power and his view that chaos is balance is such a idiotic belief that i dont even know why so many people are saying hes a amazing villain.
this episode is in my opinion the worst episode in TLOK since what the creator did with Korras Trauma and PTSD in how they resolved it by making Korra confront her abuser/assaulter and being told to trust in him to make her feel better which no real person who has ever been abused would ever do. (for anyone who will say well its a show and of course they would do this and dont use real world logic for a show, then why ado you using lines like "Korras Trauma is realistic in how they portrait it")

    • @RomanoffRoaringFaucetSpringer
      @RomanoffRoaringFaucetSpringer 6 месяцев назад

      This is an interesting view.
Trauma is a very tricky thing indeed, and it's all the more tricky to write. I don't think the ball is too far off with korra coming to zaheer in some sort of confrontation in order to rid herself of such trauma, but then again, her willingness to listen to him was a little weird and maybe rushed.
Entering the spirit world with zaheer was pretty unsettling since he specifically told korra, "that fight is over", as if he knows her pain.
I still love the writing nonetheless, no matter how absurd korras recovery was, but I do agree with the realistic portrayal of a damaging experience- only that it's fantasy and it sprinkles truths in the middle somewhere
