I grew up in IL, on one elementary school bus field trip, we went to see this machine. Our vice principal used to work at this mine and as we were there, he had permission to allow the bus driver to slowly drive under the whole machine. It was an awesome experience for each of us and the former mine employee (vice principal) climbed into the control center of this behemoth and expertly operated it as we looked on from a distance. Mr. Rowsnowski, our VP always had the greatest respect from all of us kids in that school.
Syncrude oilsands (alberta, Canada ) has a big shovel/dragline conveyer permanently stationed/retired along side the highway, adjacent to the upgrader complex/site. It’s not small..😂😂😮
