- In this video I finally install the Turbo on the shop truck.
I also install a intercooler and of course taking for a test drive..
Thanks to Hooker for the turbo manifolds and CX Racing for the intercooler kit and UBends also thanks to FlexTech for the silicone hoses and reducers
I think it's time Finnegan hires you to accelerate his C10 project
BANG! I 2nd that (not that it matters! ) 🤣
Yeah its been what? 3 years so far?
@@lepus6511 I hope so
Love this guy ..glad he's starting doing longer video's..
Love to pick his brain on a few things as he's legend to a lot of people man..RESPECT
Definitely enjoy watching you work, think, and , measure. Good stuff, Lucky!
whaaaat... no links to any of the products.. just shout outs!. lol i guess good enough.. time to go diggin' haha.. merry xmas!
How about a Lucky's Shop truck VS Truck Norris drag race.
Cluttered shop or not we appreciate your vids. You rock Lucky!
It IS cluttered, but that shows that you stay busy!
We have a saying in our shop, "show me a clean shop, and I'll show you a shop where nothing gets done!" There's a balance there of course.
Thanks for the Video....Do take credit where credit is due....Ya it may be store bought parts, but making it all fit, and not look like "Bubba" beat to fit and paint to match, is a lot of talent and skill on your part. Really turned out nice.
That is just hurtful...
@@TheCanadianBubba Sorry. That is really tricky to get just right.
Stuff that Lucky "throws together" in a couple days looks better than stuff other folks take a week to build.
My son before he passed away liked to say, Chuck Norris never sleeps he waits!
Lucky how did you plumb the drivers side exhaust into the turbo?
Pretty sure it goes around the back of the engine into the rear of the passenger side manifold.
I'm fairly sure without re-watching that he uses Hooker's turbo log type manifold. Which they sell in 3 pieces. Drivers side, crossover pipe and passenger manifold/turbo mount.
This can easily be duplicated with factory manifolds and some exhaust pipe for essentially nothing.
There are 6.27million(just kidding, a bunch though) videos of the aforementioned setup being built. Search "DIY Turbo Log Build" and that should answer any questions...
@@mcmc8496 Thank you for taking the time to respond to my comment. I did actually re-watch the episode and could just barely see the exhaust wrapping around the back of the engine just above the bell housing.
Sounds great! I'd be happy with a bone stock LS in my S10.
What engine mounts are those?
Also if you or anyone needs or wants a clean factory 79 c10 front clip let me know! I’m in Long Beach and am thinking about selling it. I know you have a big group of part hoarders than love to buy or hoard that kind of stuff.
Was going to do a front end swap on my 85 but changed my mind. So I’ll probably just sell.
I wish I had just a little bit of your knowledge
Only thing that would make that truck better is if it was a 64-66. lol
Is that one red Coil proof that MSD coils blow balls over factory coils? I really don't care though Lucky. Love this truck and the new turbo kit!
The power of chinesium, tempted by the dark side...
The greatest things about you, shop and projects are tidy fits and bad ass results!
The shop itself is a clear reflection of a "gettin it done" attitude! 👍
Hey Lucky, love your Lucky's Garage Show and HRG on MT TV. But can you fix the audio ... the ads are coming through louder then your LG Show!
9:13 THEYRE COMING
The Cog? The Covenant? End of the world?
Cant wait to see it wasting tires on some "Mexican" highway soon.
This LS and turbo has inspired me. Keep up the good work on the videos. I hope our videos can be like yours one day, they are genuine and down to earth.
I wish all headers were this easy to install... :-)
Thank you for sharing your skills with us in a longer video.
burn yard= 👍
def gonna turbo my ls when I drop it in my c10. great video
Lucky put a little on that circle cutter and keep it slow. Dang...
Live the way you work, Lucky. Nothing fazes you. You are the Zen master of misbehaviour. 🤟
Did you tap the pan for return or use the oil level sensor hole?
Cool truck Lucky, hope we see a video of you "testing on it " at the Hoonigans Burnyard….👍
Good video, I really like these trucks
I want to come help out with ur projects...love ur work ...
i am going to start uploading videos in brail. just coz i like a challange like trying tohear what u r talking about
Were you happy with the Blackheart headers while it was N/A setup? Also any suggestion on mounts? I'm in the middle of putting my N/A 6.0/4L80 together for my 72 C10.
Check out IFAB speed shops engine stand/ trans crossmember kit
The one red coil is killing me.
OK, help me out. You are running the turbo off the passenger side exhaust only??? So is the driver side connected or just left out of the turbo. I saw the headers turned around. That leaves questions. Help a rookie like me understand.
Chris Schaub both manifolds feed the turbo....
All cylinders always feed turbos. 🤓👍
@@luckysgarageshow I figured that, but I did see the exhaust meeting anywhere.
@Chris Schaub I was thinking the same thing and looking for someone that had to seen that and posted that comment about this lol
Are you still doing Hot Rod Garage stuff for Motor Trend
You are the man Lucky! If I had a hot rod still, (and the money!🤪) I'd ship it out to you from here in Georgia and have you work your magic on it!
A bit roadkill, you mean a bit sloppy 😀
Amazing build.. CPR is great! 🤙
When is John going to make a RUclips channel?
G'day from West Australia, Lucky😉🙂👍👍
It's alive with some road kill touches 😉🙂👍👍
If I did what you did with the exhaust I would get locked up , just starting it up.
Never mind driving it🙂👍👍
You make it look so easy. Thanks for the vid 🤙
That’s a sweet ride sir!
What turbo?
Glad to see you using hole saws. I worked for a guy that always used a cutting torch to do things like that.
You mean when our kids are going down to the wrecking yard picking up fusion cores XD
Next door they're making one of those tri-pod's from "war of the worlds".
Wife came in to see what I was watching. At 13:08 she said I now have to go buy designer underwear.
Wow - how Lucky are we: quality and quantity. Thanks!
LUCKY!!!!! buy a microphone.... I cant hear you sometimes
Chuck Norris can do a wheelie on a unicycle! Love the truck. Even more of a ripper now with the turbo.
I love your stuff!
I thought the Russians started the attack 9:12 😂😂😂😂
Nice work as always, two days... lol good job man!
Wyld stallions
Thanks for a longer video and not cutting a hole in the fender.
I'm happy I found your channel Lucky. I liked you on tv.
Cool! Love the truck! Wish I had the time and money to get my 1969 C-10 on the road!😥😢😪
Great video. Now I need to turbo my 67 c10...
Great to see a longer video 👍 Loving it 😎
Clearance Clarence
that red coil bugged me the whole video !
I've done the same stuff
Super Awesome job Lucky, that's real craftsmanship at work everyone !
Looks good and sounds nasty! Thanks for sharing!
"Every cam is a turbo cam"
Ok HANDS. lol
@@funfun8095 can't argue with the results :O)
@@DodgyBrothersEngineering wasn't
What A/C compressor and brackets are being used on this one? I like how it's out of the way of all things turbo
Holley mid mount
@@luckysgarageshow Thank you!!!
Love tick performance. I'm from NC I've been there several times where I got my cam from and met Jonathan and his dad their a good group of guys. Tick performance!!!
Turbo... YES! Nice work Lucky. Thank you.👍🏼🤘🏼😎
Loving what you are doing Lucky. I was about to post to support the turbo but saw later in the video you already had. Once completed would like to see you some footage of the ole girl in action.
Love it. Can I put a turbo on a 1954 Chevy 261 straight 6?
Nice work you should make the exhaust pipe 4” you’ll pick up 50 hp+
The down pipe can’t be too big
Lucky, I have a 68 with a 5.3 swap using the same exact engine mounts from CPP. I want to do the log manifold just like you have. Would you be able to provide more detail on what you had the clearance to make it fit?
Good work lucky.
Love the truck , keep up the good work.😄
Don't ram that giant bit in DRY,Lucky. It's OK to make a mess. Tin snips? NEED GLOVES!
Some studs to hang the headers will make life easy!Anti-sneeze is your friend, here.Aluminum heads!LOOKS JUST GREAT! Mac Guyver Lucky.
Just starting my drive line replacement for 1984 Chevy Short Bed, remove Diesel, 200R, 10 Bolt Rear, Install 2011 LS3 w/6speed T6060 all new Chassis Parts Coil Over, 4 link, Ford 9inch. Help!
I'm doing a 70 Monte Carlo project that I'm going to install an LQ9 or LS1 in and possibly do boost in the future. This is a great video that I can pull from when I'm ready to do it. Thanks Lucky!!
Loving the longer vid 👍🏻
Dude you're my kind of mechanic I love the way you use a trash can when you put the gas tank in your truck 😂.
Man,Thanks for sharing the truck was wayyy cool before the turbo and now it's even better!.

Was just wondering if you could help me out with something I have an 01 Chevy 2500 HD with a 6.0 165000 miles has no blow but it's burning oil I change a PVC valve and it still uses a quart every 750 miles I'm totally confused it runs too good to have bad rings it does not smoke when you're driving but I was Towing my RV and when I came to a stop and started blowing all kinds of smoke out the exhaust I'm totally confused
I got a 97 Chevy short Box 2 Will Dr. The vortex 5.7. Right now I have a carbureted because it’s got a big thumper thunder cam. Do you think it’s worth LS swapping it
Why #8 get the red coil, granitelli makes a 85,000 volt coil, that's more than double the 40k my accel ones make, I know next time around which ones I wanna get but the question is will they make a considerable difference?? Love the chuck Norris jokes....
Hell Yeah Mate, that's awesome. And to think, 12 months ago I was standing in that shop shooting the shit with You
Oh boy, you've made it angry...
Great information, I have a built 72 C-10 that I did for my grandson. He wants to do a Turbo and all looks very similar to what I will need to do. Thank you
Hey sometimes you just gotta take a couple me days
Need longer videos, Luckys a personality, make room for the Star
Gotta getcha some of that copyright free background music for the timelapse shots! Need any volunteer help lol? Just a disgruntled ex-dealership tech searching for his passion again. Keep up the awesome work!
This just popped up in my feed, I never knew that the c10 was once turbo!!! Shoulda went twins but I can also understand why you went s/c
For the longest time it was cummins this or that but just cummins projects. Expensive and heavy.... too heavy. Now it is LS swaps in everything that needed a battery to start. My wish is to be able to get up a dodge body like a 2500 series and it be all jacked up and look the part of bad to the bone diesel power, a C on the fender no less and hide the LS 9 in it. Plenty of power and nine second quarter miles and cheaper to drive. Just have fun without too much trouble
Nicely done
Lucky please pull the exhaust all the way to the back pleaaaaaaaase👏🏽
Lucky! Man, you have the best work (FUN) and i hella enjoy watching you make things happen! ✌
Yeah, a longer video!
i got my dream engine just one problem it needs rebuilt and it is not going to be cheap i traded a good running 350 4 bolt low miles stock for a LS 7 427 overhead cam 4 valve per cylinder still runs but think the valves are bad low compression to the point of not running but i been getting the ho 454 4 inch stroke steel crank heavy rods and pushrods high flow heads with a heavy duty 400 turbo crate engine and trans set up for free the last one had 6000 miles on it so far i have not got one with more than 50,000 on it i get 1 to 2 a year and i made 2000 off the equipment that i pulled it out of my little secret i put one in my 68 chevy pu it is rated at 450 hp at 485 torque by the paperwork on it it really came alive after opening it up to breath so far i have 300 bucks in my 68 short box and it looks sweet
Love the no hood freeway footage. Nothing quite so Roadkill as that...it's an homage I'm sure!
Difference is when Lucky goes down the road without a hood, it's intentional. Roadkill was usually "no choice or it dies".
I think Roadkill needs to do another muscle truck show down between all the hosts. Frieburger, Finnegan, Lucky, and Dulcheck all have some pretty baddass muscle trucks. It could be a battle between the two boosted trucks( Finn and Lucky) then a race between Dulcheck and Frieburger's Na trucks. Then the winners race each other in a bracket style race so it can be a drivers race.
Thx for bringing us along Lucky. Really enjoy watching your process!
Somethin nice! druel druel
You made this look easy!! Excited to do something like this.
I'm loving the longer videos
