Problem is tho if you turn switch off with controller off the dash the controller is still powered on you need to shut scooter down first then turn off otherwise controller is still on
And if I want to charge the scooter, do I have to turn it on with the key and leave it charging? or is it not necessary?

This doesn't work, drilled 18mm hole, fitted the ignition just as shown. At first I experienced the problem of the ignition being too long for the box but sorted that out by securing it with a nut and cable tie. Once the ignition was wired to the red cable, nothing worked, so I tried wiring it to the black wire next to it aswell and that didn't work either. Not sure sure what the difference is between that scooter and mine as they are the same but it didn't work atall.
Also before i does the red do the same in xiaomi electric scooter 1s thank you in forward

Its not a safe switch becous i have the same and when you stick a stick in you can twist it and unlock it
But when you turn of the scooter using the key the taillight starts blinking

Don't do this way, its wrong its only turning off the control panel and only reading the control panel voltage of 5v
