+FecalMattur My generation's Jim Morrison. And honestly, I think that's bullshit. Dax is the "rock star" Morrison wished he could've been. Can't explain it, but that's what I believe.
You keep comparing him to Jim Morrison, but The Doors can't even come close to comparing to any of his bands. Dax is a genre all his own, but if you want a comparison... he's more like a dead rock star that never died.
I see him every single time he comes to ALABAMA jesus dax, your so mellow, you would imagine most musicians are totally diff off stage... but you... "yea i'll take a jameson whiskey" so soft, so real, you are you man, never stop what you are doing even tho i doubt you will see this comment, i can attempt to tell you at a show where 100 other people are basically begging to do the same, so i will just leave my love here. where i feel it wont be a burden. thank you man, long live your soul
Every so often you come across an artist or band who really connects with you for whatever reason & you think to yourself “How is this not huge?” Dax is one of those artists
Fuck... this song always conjures up some really great memories, circa 2001/02. At the time, I lived about an hour and a half north of New Orleans, and my friends and I would go catch Deadboy shows at Zeppelin's in Metairie, when it was the original lineup still (at the time, the 8 song demo was the only music released, as they hadn't started recording If This is Hell yet). Afterwards, we'd go out all night in the Quarter, and start heading home about 6am. We'd blare the shit out of this song once we were on the interstate over the lake... windows down to feel the semi-cool morning air, sun beginning to rise, the sky in shades of pink/orange/blue/white. Every time I hear this song, I'm immediately transported back to those days.
Chris B. This song is my soul so reading this comment was so cool. I felt transported into a glimpse of a beautiful snapshot in time. I and every other rabid Dax fan (like there's any other kind) envy you forever these memories. 💚

Good call out. this was the first version I heard so when I heard the album version I was a bit put off.....still amazing but this version reels me in.
He always makes me feel better, isn't that what a good song writer is supposed to do! I know now a days these musicians are far between, but Dax is one.

Thats awesome! I went to New Orleans last summer, and Dax just happened to be playing at the club One Eyed Jacks so I went. I was on a cane at the time from a car accident. I met Dax before the show, aand when he started his set he told the audience to "give the kid on the cane some room, don't want to see him hurt", so I sat on the side of the stage for the show. I have some pix somewhere, maybe I'll do a lil montage video too with some of the pix. Anyway, Dax is a space cadet, but he's awesome
I wish I could find out when ur performing in La. I'd love to come see you. Everything you've done has been good,(from AB til now) and I'm glad to see you've reached that point that you are producing what you want, and enjoying the beauty of all genres of music. Your interpretation of music really kicks. Love it, i had to get out old photo albums. Wish you the very best Dax!

+Stanton Doyle Thanks for the reply, I do have a question, I've searched online trying to find any upcoming show schedules & i can't find anything recent accept when people post new videos. I don't do the social media thing so maybe that's why.. Anyway, if u find out any schedule info, pls let me know. I'd so much appreciate it :)
He's working on new music, possibly to be released by the end of the year, hence the lack of live shows lately. Dax Riggs Official Page on Facebook will list any news regarding shows, new music releases, etc.
@buddhabomber Hey I'm so glad you mentioned Mark Sandman. He is one of my favorites along with Dax. To anyone reading this who has never heard of Morphine/Mark Sandman should definitely check them out. They're an amazing trio.
Yeah. Acid Bath is definitely my favorite band any of the members were in, but everyone did the right thing. I love both Dax Rigg's work be it Agents of Oblivion, Deadboy boy or just Dax Riggs and I also love Sammy Duet's Goatwhore and Ritual Killer. They are both legendary musicians.
Tell us ALL 'bout de halls of moody karmic blues, Dax. Where the Demiurge and Adversary are in contention for thy prospectivelyaw parole-eligible soul. THOSE halls. Where is he?... Oh no.
@GABER222 you don't have the 1st album, I never released it but in a demo form.... 8 song demo ,recorded by Dax and my self in my house after agents broke up...
I absolutely love this medicine. I'm healed. I'm calm. I'm happy. I'm still. My blood pressure is probably that of a marathon runner at this moment. I can barely move my fingers to type. Thank you bourbon and angel Dax.
Very well put! Keep in mind that not everyone would put it this way, but those who do, really can enjoy a great privilege in life - healing from music! I do belive it requires a certain type of characteristic(s) to really embrace and understand this. This song in particular, is one of the best I've ever heard!! Almost TOO fucking moving/emotive/real/EVERYTHING that is COOL about music!!!
The bolts were missing from my trucks , I felt I couldnt ride anymore, they were there, I just missed 17 years , what a fuck , just wanted my board and peace
@GABER222 it's either Possum records, or Fat Possum Records, not quite sure. You can find the new album there. Do you know where I can get the old one?
Cool! I can relate to this progression you speak of; however, I still love all the old, heavy stuff I did when I was young too! As long as it clicks w/me in a REAL, EMOTIONAL way, that I can CONNECT with - then this is what primarily matters as far as my tastes go musically!
My best friend, father to my two children, and soulmate committed suicide in Syria recently. Our family was notified just last week. This song was a huge part of our life together. Dax was a huge part of our life together. We saw Dax in New Orleans at OEJs and in Evansville, where Dax is from. I am sick, sad and forever heart broken. I know I have to go on for our kids, but walking forward is so, so hard. Don't seem like no sun exists that could eclipse this. Wake me when I'm sane.
We played this song at his memorial service 3 months later in June of 2018. Now today I am sitting in my newly purchased historic home in New Orleans. Grief never goes away, we just grow around it. But maybe I can finally wake up sane on Mardi Gras day right here in New Orleans.
@@chelseaniehaus3640 If the OEJ’s show was one of the nights during Halloween/Voodoo fest (I think the one with Ozzie) weekend, well over a decade ago, I was there also. 🖤💙
@haropro2 I'm a die hard Acid Bath fan, too. I'm from North Louisiana and saw them in concert when I was 18 (1996). Although, this song is insanely beautiful. His voice is hauntingly pleasant!
