Acid Bath used to play in Lafayette, LA all the time in the 90's. Used to hang with them after shows. My band and I almost opened for them once but something fell through. Good ole times.

+Matt Smith Got to see them at the Pomp Room, Sioux Falls SD. Brother got a black eye. One of the best shows I ever seen. Opened for D.R.I. Packed show, people went nuts. But Acid Bath will never be R.I.P. Audi and i respect that. Love Dax's vocals and he has some good stuff. It may not be heavy, but its all good.
Miss those days, it was cool scene, even for the Midwest. Damn city tore the pomp room down for a parking garage.

Every Dax Riggs song sounds like some combination of Acid Bath, the most trippy blues of all time, and the Doors. And I absolutely love it. #longliveaudie
@jjbell777 Althouogh it takes place in a studio, this recording was all live. No overdubs or fixes. I recorded and mixed it and can honestly say I had to do very very little to get Dax' vocal to sit in the mix. He's got loads of talent. Such a powerful vocalist! The band rocks hard too!

Dax's live performances are simply superb. Professional, charismatic, relaxed, flawless, just puts other artists to shame with his consistency. What a talent.
Dax Riggs and Kyo of Dir En Grey, easily the two greatest live vocalists of the last two decades. Easily.
You're forgetting Layne Staley and Chris Cornell but ok. Only those two vocalists are great.

I was alive and kicking in the 90s, I like Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder, they've some silky tones and technically amazing, but a lot of bands had a lead singer doing the same thing. They stood out amongst their contemporaries, they don't really stand out any further beyond that. It feels like every alternative/grunge band had a similar vocalist.
Dax’s voice is best described as beautifully haunting.

@johnnybrannan Everyone is playing together in one room, no headphones, no overdubs, no edits or fixes. There were a few people watching on the other side of the glass. Other than being at a club, I don't know how much more "Live" it could be.
I saw Dax live last week in Brooklyn. Great fuckin show! Hearing his vocals up close and live was an experience that everyone should have, but unfortunately wont. Because for some reason true talents like Dax go unrecognized by the masses. It kills me how he is not more popular. Selfishly as a fan it is good that he will never "sell out" and only write and sing the way he wants to, but at the same time I would love to see him hit mainstream success and get rich because he deserves it!

Scream of the butterfly was my beginning too, yearsssss ago...travel through acid bath, agents of oblivion, deadboy & the elephant man....soooo much...but don't let yourself get loat, can get pretty dark.

Guys, after all these years of listening to Dax, I just realized this song and "I'll See You All in Hell of New Orleans" is about him saying goodbye. He hasn't released any music since this album. For what ever reason this just came to me tonight, fourteen years later.

Dax is a vocal icon in my eyes. Learned of Acid Bath from my teacher back in school, she was the wife of Sammy's(guitarist) brother. Been a devout fan ever since. So sad when Audie passed away. Wish i could go to a concert, but being military stuck in Korea and all I find that your quality recording of his music cranked on my PC does pretty well. After a long day at work i felt obliged to say Thank You!

First time I met this guy was at Midtown Hall in Shreveport, Louisiana. It was a literal hole in the wall in the deep ghetto.
The bands playing were all locals and everyone was all in one big open room, talent and fans alike, so Acid Bath walks out of the crowd and everyone goes quiet so they can do their intro, because they were new to us.
They turned that place in to a mosh pit!
I brought them a round of beers from my cooler and they asked if they could sign my shirt and gave me a demo that was long ago stolen from me.
The impact their style had on me still exists today in 2024.
Fun lore fact: The bouncer that night was a guy we locally called Big Red. He co-starred in Roadhouse 2 as that giant redheaded bad guy😂.
I miss the whole scene we had in the 90s. Music was alive everywhere. We had type o negative playing in an alley.

If, as has been said, brevity is the soul of wit, Dax is the wittiest man alive... he can say more in a short paragraph than most people say in a lifetime... write 8 or 12 lines, set them to haunting music, whip out another song that grabs your soul in both hands and bashes your brains out with it... I would call Dax God but he'd probly punch me in the face for it and i've been told it's unwise to piss off a genius... and he has the most beautiful voice I've ever heard, (this from a guy who prefers female singers, but HOLY SHIT that man's voice is awesome!)

I got my first Acid Bath ( pagan ) outside of a record store as this guy was selling it for cigs, I got the best end of that deal. I have gotten all and anything from AB, then found Agents. Now just found this on the tube. I don't know why I never sought out Dax doing solo and thru that found Deadboy. So Awesome.

Everyone keeps talking about acid bath yes we all miss them but but all the music dax puts out is fucking amazing being commercial is not his thing and I think that's great for all of us he's pure dosen't sell out I will always love and hear he's putting out a double album just taking his time and as a loyal fan seeing him 3 times and meeting him twice I will wait for his return 🤗
