I've got a massive wallet because my wife bought it for me and now I have to carry it everywhere. For years, I didn't even carry a wallet, just kept my cards in my pocket and managed to not lose any. But after a while, one of my ID cards got pretty scratched up so I went back to a small wallet. Tried one of those fancy carbon fibre ones and I didn't like it so went back to leather.
Also Brock you should get keyless entry locks for your house. I can’t stand keys so I actually don’t have to carry any. The only thing I carry is a fob for my car which is keyless entry and push button so no physical keys. My fob never leaves my pocket which is great.
Don’t get a bigger phone case, get a screen protector. The screen protector takes the brunt of the damage from a fall. Looks like you need to try a smart lock. I carry my car key only and lock a spare house key in the glovebox of the car…just in case the smart lock fails. Works great.
Always happy to see a video from you Brock! For me, the only items I actually carry every single day are my keys and my phone. Even the wallet is optional, because usually I pay with Apple Pay, and the battery on the current iPhones lasts so long it basically never dies on me. I do share your issue with keys, it seems crazy that it's 2023 and we still need to carry physical keys around. Business opportunity right there😅 P. S. I think it's worth pointing out that for people who think a 37 mm Nomos is small, the dial on that watch is probably 34-35 mm across. It's basically as big as the dial on a 42mm seiko skx or a 40mm Rolex. It really looks much larger on the wrist than the case size suggests.
I rely on Carhartt for EDC gear. They make a great cardholder that is really elegant, and they make a carabiner that I keep on my belt loop for keys. Both items are very reasonably priced.
I use the belroy iPhone case with built in card base. It hold 2 metal cards comfortably, 3 plastic cards. It’s just enough to hold my ID and 2 credit cards for everyday going out. Keeps one less (wallet) out of my pocket and doesn’t add too much bulk compared to a normal phone case
If you haven't tried it already, the aviator wallet is a great one. I have one for over a year now, still looks brand new! And small form factor. I do have the double size coin tray and i fold my cash so it fits in there instead of using the elastic band.
Get a tempered glass screen protector - you can still use whatever good-looking case you want, and still protect your screen from cracks. They're easily installable, and they've saved my iPhone 11 through years of clumsiness. Appreciate what you say here about the wallet. My cardholder has the same issue you talked about: my cards have stretched out the leather and when I try to take some out, they end up falling out. Might have to go back to Grams28, even though they had a phone case that didn't last too long for me. Great list you've got here, kudos!
This! The tempered glass will absorb shocks and break, but your phone stsys protected. They're usually $5 a piece on Amazon. Also, no bubbles like plastic film scratch protectors. Totally worth it.
As someone with small hands, I'm so sad that they killed off the iPhone Mini (and all small phones for that matter). Hopefully it gets grandfathered in as the new iPhone SE. 🤞
I also love the mini, so does my wife. Now looking for a slim wallet that can attach to the back. I drive a Tesla so there’s no key fob needed. It’ll just be the phone and I’m good to go.
I have my phone in a QuadLock case so I can use all the accessories. I have mounts in 3 cars, a mountain bike, the garage, the bathroom mirror, the home gym, the treadmill, a drum kit, a tripod and a monopod. Before this, I used Otterbox for years. My vote is to go with the Commuter. There's plenty of protection and the rubber is INSIDE of the hard shell so it not only won't stretch like the Defender (with the rubber on the OUTSIDE) it slides in and out of a pocket MUCH easier.
I appreciate you linking to the bracelet; I'm in the market for one and now have a starting point (or at least a link to send to my wife for a Christmas gift). You've been a big inspiration to my style upgrade - thanks!
Definitely recommend the Harber and London RFID Card Holder. Gorgeous, different colors to pick from, and very minimal. My has been with me for a couple of years now and looks brand new.
@@BrockMcGoff Oh, that's true, I even liked that video! Sorry for recommending something you had already tried. Let me then compliment your continued open-mindedness and disposition on trying out different brands. =)
I have an otter box for my iPhone 14 pro. For years I was also in doubt because of the way the case is bulky. But in recent years, it seems like they’ve gotten alot slimmer
I really like my Dango wallet.... I feel like most of the tiny/slim wallets are not designed in a way that I want to use them to carry stuff. This one seems pretty good.

Another reason Tesla is SO amazing, you don’t need to carry a bulky key fob. You don’t even need keys. The wallet key card is genius. I think you’re seriously missing out not carry around a foldable knife. I think every man’s EDC can benefit from a pocket knife.
great video, I've been looking at those watches, I want to purchase one, will you recommend them for every day watch? what about the band, is it good for hot weather? Also great video, been following for about a month now. Yes do a video about a workout/office bag
So having tested the shield wallet there is pros and cons to it - I got it with the additional cash holder - not worth it in my opinion and actually makes carrying the cards harder!! Overall though I am a big fan!!
Cool EDC ensemble, Brock. I'm seriously considering the thin wallet you use. Be wary though of airpods using blue tooth signals being so near your brain. Radio waves/ EMFs haves already been proven to be detrimental to long term health. Putting your phone in your pocket near your crotch area is also a risk. Might be better to get a small sling bag to put everything in it. But, if you don't like that "strap across my chest" look, you just have to take the health risk. You might try skipping the sunglasses in the early morning/late evening. That bad sleep score might benefit from letting some sunlight get to your eyes to help time your wake/sleep cycles. It’s not everything, but there’s a lot that goes into quality sleep
The Tech 21 line of iPhone cases is my choice. Very thin but has a honeycomb padding system that protects from drops without the bulk of OTTERBOX. I’ve read they don’t actually protect any better. I’ve owned 3 Tech 21 cases and have never had a crack even though I’ve dropped my phones many times.
