Hello, Norwegian team guru dicsgolf player here, the main difference between v1, v2 and v3 is that the first version had the rainfly pocket and rainfly but it's made more water resistant over the years, v2 got alot stiffer and less baggy. From v2 to v3 it got even stiffer and a bit tighter, and the waterbottle holders are alot better and more durable than earlier models. I will say this is the best bag I have ever worn and it's definetly worth it! The space, side pockets and everything about the bag is perfect for my use.
Upper Park DGPT Rebel has same issue with the straps tightening due to stepping on end when lifting bag. Your reviews are beyond informative and helpful. Thanks and keep it up.
This is the best review ever! Your attention to detail is insane but completely warranted. The breakdown on the pencil pocket problem is so damn satisfying and shows the small differences that separate an good bag from a great bag. Have you ever thought about designing your own bag/collaborating with a company on one. I feel like you would make the best bag ever! Thanks for another sweet review
I've stepped on my bag straps before on my grip b series bag and synched them up tight accidentally. I like the idea of strap keepers may look into it. Thanks for a very detailed review!
@@johnnydarter I could fit 24 discs easily allowing for easy access in and out. I could fit 6 more probably but it would start to get a little crowded. If you don't use the main pocket for jackets etc. you could put more discs there. Warning: my friend bought the same bag and his main strap tore out. He had to return the bag. I haven't had problems though.
your attention to detail is much appreciated, if you’re thinking of getting a bag, watch this man’a content. your enlightenment on disc variance within molds was incredibly accurate, it made me a more discerning shopper and even helped my game in understanding the physics of those variations.
Good review! 👍 Never had Yme when it were produced but I now have Guru’s new bag Sigr! They seem to have fixed a lot of the issues you mentioned in this video. I absolutely love it and it’s my favorite so far!
The top putter pouch pocket flap could be secured with a strip of velcro. Pretty easy fix for that. The only real flaw I see with this bag is the low main disc compartment, but having access from the rear, I would assume most people just grab their discs from the back side.
What is the so called flaw you see about the main disc compartment? All of the people having this is grabbing discs from the correct side (the back). Except if you have a caddy. And the top putter pocket flap you just stick into the pocket and it's no problem at all
Thanks for reviewing this bag! Very interesting video indeed. Considering the differences that you've seen elsewhere (pocket for the rain coverage, for example) along with the actual tag sent with it makes me wonder if it's actually the latest version you got there. Either way, thanks for a thorough review, as always. Best attention to details I've ever seen in reviews. Keep up the good work!
The bag was purchased directly from Guru so I think its very likely the most current bag and there was just a mistake on the tag they put on the bag. The rain fly was in a much older video so that would be on an older version of the bag.
If the inner lining of the bottle holders has a reflective/thermo-like material, it's v2. If the inner lining is the same material as the rest of the bag, and it has drain holes, it's v3
Yes. I just jammed my biggest oversized hoodie in there and I could still slide in and out 2 putters with no problem. That filled the pocket up pretty tight though.
Why don't companies give him their bags to review ? Especially when some companies don't even produce video content (or very little) to promote their own bags ???
@@DothSavek Hopefully one of those companies is latitude 64 and they are sending in their new Core Pro bag. I got one a few months ago and personally i think it is a home run. @@ssfctid22 The problem is that most disc manufacturers are buying bags from overseas shops. In the grand scheme of things, the disc golf bag is low volume and therefore low priority to most overseas manufacturers. Add to that the shutdowns for Covid-19 coupled with the uptick in demand happening in disc golf and you have most manufacturers with nothing to sell.
Espen Paulsen on the discmania group on FB, they showed the lettering was done better, stiching on the shoulder straps improved, bottom is glossy black instead of matte, and inside top pockets were stiched better as prototypes ripped right away. Honestly, Im a noob on specifics but I hope they give this guy a bag so we can all watch an expert! I subscribed just cause how good this video is. 🤞
I have this bag (in the US) and really like it for a large capacity bag. My main bag is a UPD Shift, but should I need to fit more for whatever reason or more storage for winter I use this bag. Agree with everything on your assessment. Stepping on the strap is a real conundrum. Very comfortable and I only used the back access not front access. Not the best bag for throwing multiple discs per hole or not filling the main compartment. Those discs will flip around and possibly flop out or lay flat If not mostly full. I’d hoped it would have a rain fly as well as dividers for the disc compartment to avoid falling. It does have some weird funk and not necessarily worth the price IMO esp given shipping to the states but definitely a beautiful and unique bag. Ps. Someone hire this man for consulting on their next bag.
Thank you for offering your assessment. For strap management google this: DYZD Multi-Size Webbing Ending Clip Quick Slip Keeper Connect Buckle for Backpack Bag Strap Management (32 mm). I think the 32mm is the perfect width. I just didn't want to wait to record the video until they came in. As far as consulting on a bag, I have been asked to do just that by a company and am really looking forward to being involved in a design process.
If you added some disc dividers to the main internal section it would keep the discs from flopping around when not fully loaded. I had to do this to a DD bag that I don't fully load up.

That's a hard one to answer. Apparently they are made in small batches and sell out fast. You may have to just keep checking their web site and get in on the next preorder. There is a language barrier as well, so that makes it harder to get good info. Maybe Discmania will place a larger order and there will be more available under the Discmania name?
