    Great to see that spot on video - fished there many times over the years (first time in 2012), but during recent visits haven't bothered as unlike most spots in the area, attracted fluff chuckers and tourists as close to a footpath! If you are heading back feel free to drop me a line - lost count how many trips i've had to the Beara so happy to share some knowledge and spots (mostly around lure fishing for pollack and wrasse). Also, look for videos on here by Beb Lee -- lots of great spots around Dursey Island for lure fishing.

    Get yourself over to inch beach in Kerry ..tope.smoothies .bass all types of Ray. Way better chance of catch rate bud .
    Rossbeigh beach also very good .I'd have a 2 hook flapper put also .they catch everything including Ray. It makes your catch rate better too with an extra hook in the water .I'm from cork but stay in kerry innthe summer ..try get some sandeel also .a great bait down south and west
    Good luck 👍

    In place like this I found that low tide much better for fishing, also easier to cast from lower rocks if you can access. You should try, I was surprised first and second time, now only going fishing 2 hours before water gets lowest. Thanks. Have a good day.

    A beautiful place to fish and quite similar to some parts of Wales. You did nothing wrong fishing wise but if the fish aren't there you ain't going to catch any but well done on the blank saver. Looks like a nice place to do some overnight fishing and maybe it comes alive after dark.

    • @theawfulangler
      @theawfulangler  Месяц назад

      Sorry if you're Welsh, bit I'd honestly compare it more to parts of Western Scotland. Part of the reason I was expecting it to be much deeper and a lot more fish. Better prepared next time though

    Look at the positives on that Alex. Firstly the scenery was incredible, secondly you got that nice Pollock to save the blank and finally you now have the Navionics app. Better luck for the remainder of the trip and look forward to next week's vid.

    Try looking on the fishing in Ireland website for other places man. No point ruining your holiday constantly looking for places to fish. If you see other people fishing, just ask them where else to go. Most of them will tell you. Local knowledge is key in Ireland. I once saw four visitors wasting eight stone of groundbait trying to catch bream in a place that was barren.
