The fishing has died right off up here since just after xmas. Them big seas seems to have scattered the fish. Still a few decent ones but the fish harder to find now. Good effort though.

I have must admit I have broken my New Year’s resolution it was not to fish every day

Fished that Wednesday,,,, colornose point.. normal a banker. Best fished at distance to 11 o'clock from where your positioned ,then 10 o'clock as the tide comes up to high water 30 yards out.its normally where you get the clonkers ,, often make the trip up from lancashire,, but did Sunday Monday Tuesday on the rock marks round cove aberdeen.. wild conditions but plenty of proper one's. .. 2nd mark I'd prefer the black hole that's in-between color nose and the next mark you fished..

Its much more consistent pre Christmas, earlier in Winter season up here in North East, October/November best. After New Year mostly fish number's thin out, though the bigger fish do show then for a few weeks. It's dead in February/March here for the most part these days season is well over.

That same morning we had a great session on Foxton, where you were the night before. It was weedy close in, but my boy had cod of 5lbs and 2lbs, I had some flatties.

Nice codling Alex, good for getting the buzz going. I had a good night last Wednesday on a mark I've not fished for years it was slow till top of the tide then managed 7 codling and a whiting in 9 casts and new rod christened.

The century was Not a ruff ground rod beautiful rod for the sand and bass its a bit like driving a for fiesta on the Paris dackar daft!

I bet that rod tip ring wouldn't of broke off if you would've used mainline mono instead of braid. Braid puts too much strain on the rod rings. Thanks for convincing me to stick to mono. At least you got a fish.
