My course is an exception with only 90 students, despite the university being one of the biggest in the country, and still we don't even remember all 90 names😂 It was also refreshing to hear that in some cases hard work is non-negotiable and there is no "hack" to it

I'm still in my 1st year, and in the 1st semester I struggled a lot trying to adapt to the changes and differences in studying and learning methods. It was really a big shock moving from school to med school..Also having social anxiety and being introverted, I find it hard to study and wrap my head around anything under stress and nervousness, experienced a shameful fall in grades 1st semester leading me to depression. I'm happy to be where I am now, but I'm desperate to learn how to keep up on my studies and organise my daily time and get the best of it. And I found this channel! Thank you for the advice! I'll definitely check other videos of the channel.
I struggled as a student when it came to studying and I’m retaking the mcat, but relearning my study strategies have helped me out really well and I actually did better on my practice full length test today than i did in my first few practice tests last year
I love videos on the positive outlook of medical school and the tips on how to cope with the humongous workload and actually perform better. The media is full of negative feedback but never talk about the positive outcomes of becoming a doctor that should be spread more

There are online Podiatric Med schools if you enroll in European schools. Anyways, you can still practice Podiatry in the USA territory of American Samoa(because their territorial law accepts European trained MDs, dentist, & podiatrist, and vet graduates) then jump later to Utah because they allow reciprocity license. Oregon also have a separate written exam to acquire a reciprocity license for Podiatrists not under USA APMA schools. North Dakota also allows reciprocity license for those with previous Canadian podiatry license if you did practice for minimum of 2 years in Canada first prior to moving in North Dakota(their state law mentioned it). If you already had a pre-med then all you need is enroll in the graduate program system in Europe by level: PostGrad Cert in Podiatry then PostGrad Diploma then MSc then PhD. The Catholic University of Valencia offers online "Certificate of University Extension International Progran in Podiatry" for 18 ECTS credits then you subsequently enroll in University of Cordoba's online PostGrad Certificate program "University Expert in Vascular Wounds of the Lower Limb and Diabetic Foot" for 30ECTS credits . You need both to get enough ECTS credits to make-up for the Podiatry units required to be admitted to the next level(PostGrad Diploma) since Europe doesn't have a pre-med but they go direct to med school after their high school. When you already got your PostGrad Cert, you'll be able to enroll in Queen Margaret University's online "PostGrad Diploma Advance Practice in Podiatry" and after finishing that, you shall enroll to the MSc Advance Practice in Podiatry which is also offered by Queen Margaret University. Then later is the PhD level, a "PhD in Podiatry by Publication" is offered by University of Brighton wherein you need to have published journals which was distributed for public use because you will convert it to thesis format to be submitted to the faculty to earn such PhD. In Europe, the only time you are considered as doctor academically is: when you already reached the PhD level. 🙂

Same. When I interviewed at my medical school, everyone I talked to said the community/culture was so close and supportive. Unfortunately, I never got to experience it because of COVID. My school was also very strict with our COVID policy and actively forbid us from hanging out with our classmates in person for months.
That was good. We used to "joke" that M.D. stood for "memory device" and that a high I.Q. was actually a liability in practicing medicine/surgery. Med. school is actually FUN...an enjoyable experience, if you let it be. But whether you do or not, it's a life-altering experience for everyone. However, if you say to yourself early in your studies, that you're going into a field that "matches easily" like emergency med., for instance and plan to spend your working life in some ER or other, you will not take maximum advantage of everything med. school has to offer. In short, that attitude will likely result in becoming a mediocre practitioner. Then why bother? If you go to med. school, do it right and give it your all. All of the rewards are worth it...including the financial sacrifices. However, if your goal is money (be honest with yourself) and you want to do something sort of medical/surgical, go into one of the dental specialties. Many are much more lucrative that medical practice and you can still do a lot of good for people.
