anti0918 i know, right. i just saw the Juliana Hatfield 3 Friday night (second time in 3 weeks) and Juliana is a great show woman but while she was doing her little kicks while jamming on the guitar i could only think of how awesome Ritzy is as a show woman.
Yes, this band is going to be huge. The are the complete package. When I listen to them, I hear so many other great bands. Everything from Sonic Youth to Interpol to Phoenix to Bloc Party to Mogwai to, well, you get the idea. Their songs are great, their live show is awesome (from the vids I've seen), and they all seem to get on quite well. No reason they won'd be making a lot more music together.
Holy buggering crap - to my shame I have just recently "discovered" The Joy Formidable - even more surprising given that I'm Welsh, albeit no longer living there. Wow!!! They are the real deal, absolutely fantastic! Loving everything I'm hearing - and the live performance is just totally on it: it's so nice to see bands who can play like this, they've so obviously gigged they're asses off for several years. Now they're tight, smooth, with real magic too!!! Gonna have to get busy on iTunes!
