"I'll never be up here again"
It's funny to me that she is this humble. She's honestly the best actress in the world. She IS! It's incredible! And let's be honest, every time she has been nominated she should've won. She didn't because people want to give a chance to other actresses. If she hadn't won this time, the Oscar would've gone to Viola Davis for The Help.
She's humble and sweet and an all around incredible person. I don't know if what she said about half of america going "aaah, her, again..." is true, but if it is, then there's something wrong with half of america.

@@johannsimonot Weinstein didn't really find success in the industry until 1997 when The English Patient became the first Best Picture winner for Miramax. So, very likely they didn't work together until he had a modicum of success because by that time she had already been nominated 10 times for acting Oscars, winning two one for Kramer vs. Kramer and the legendary Sophie's Choice. Trust me she doesn't need Weinstein she has been doing great dating back to her nomination for a Tony in 1976 after only debuting as a professional actor the year before in 1975.

Her acting was actually superb in Doubt 2008, but the academy elevated Kate Winslet's nomination in The Reader for Best Actress, Both were good by the way and very deserving
Her latest nod was from August Osage County and was also very good. I really think she deserves more Oscars than the three she was given

I would thought that he year in which Kate Winslet won, it wasn´t right, becuse her sister Aloysious a monster good, but the reality is that Winslet´sAnna Schmidt was better. And last year the Academy was obviously going for fresh blood: I mean her Violet Weston or Violent(as she calls the character) was AMAZING!!

What I love most about this Oscar moment is that Meryl really didn't expect to win that night. It came as a total surprise to her as you can see in the moment Colin Firth announces her name as the winner and she shays: ''What?'' with a total expression of confusion. I think she thought Viola Davis was going to win, as everybody was thinking. I like this surprises at the Academy Awards because in these last years the Oscars has been so predictable, I mean, today everyone knows who will win before the ceremony.
