Awesome job everyone. Thank you for a Great Sounding video.!
Outstanding
Very good Cover
Wow, just wow! Awesome job!
Absolutely brilliant, the lead singer the band all of you,
This is absolutely amazing. Great job everyone in the band, especially the singer and backing vocals. Just perfect! ❤
I wish they would hit the road like Leonid and Friends. The venues are packed every time they come through our area. I'm sure it would be the same for them. Awesome band doing it right!
Amazing job Dale & Jim!
Again….🎸 LLB never disappoints! Love you guys.
Not the easiest piece to replicate. Great job!!!!
The depth of talent in this group is astounding
Little Mad this only has 45k view...Shaing it big time.... This is great...
Bass is just fantastic. 😁👍
Best Steely Dan covers I've ever heard.
I agree, Sir.
Absolutely! Very impressed with these folks 👍🏻
Amen to that Bro!
Steely Dan is not easy to play but you nailed it.
As a huge SD fan. Great job on the song and the Larry Carlton solo!
absolutely superb cover of superb track. All musicians exceptional. Production top notch too.I am a bass player and it took few weeks to get this one almost right! Well done guys
What a fantastic job these guys and gals do
OMFG...just Brilliant!!!
Nice.
'is there gas in the car?/yes there's gas in the car!'....Thanks for sticking this song in my head for the last couple years Tom!
nailed that solo!
🌎 I can't imagine how on earth you found a substitute for Donald Fagen! But you did & he's unbelievably great. Way to go Tom!!👏🏼👏🏼
Watched all,the Steely Dan ones first! Effing awesome!!
Just incredible
wow!!
Perfecto!
is there gas in the car? YESSSSSS....there's gas in the car! Nailed it guys.
Smoked this one! WoW!!! Dale... Ryan.. Mike. All of you! WOW!
Is there gas in the car? yes there's gas in the carrrrrr.....nailed it. Another A+ performance. Thank you!
Love it!!!
Excellent.
AMAZING !!!
I agree with many of the others here. Steely Dan is notoriously difficult to pull off well. You pulled it off well!
Love this. You guys are great artists.
Thank you for this. Rock music for grown ups. (I listened to this as a teen, but, you get the point.) Great musicianship, sound engineering, videography.
Rock on!
The vocalist has some serious pipes
The technical proficiency of these musicians is without equal. Steely Dan songs are very technically complex, and these guys make it look easy.
...ahhh yes....one of my all time favorites of Steely Dan. Great job on the classic Larry Carlton solos...would love to hear you do that on a 335, you really did a nice job on those solos. great musicians, really enjoy watching and hearing you all.
👍 man what a cover🤩 looking forward to The Old Ichthus Farm/Campgrounds Show!
Absolutely stunning version, rhaaa my God !!! #80)
"Thats when you turned the world around!!"...with your band. Wonderful, beautiful , thank you!
So glad Steely Dan music is in their repertoire
Nice work! Loved it thank You! 🙏
Very nicely done!
Nailed it! Everyone did collectively and superbly. Well done! Say no more.
Y’all should do Don’t Take Me Alive from Steely Dan!
Wow....this exceeded expectations not to mention nailing the signature Larry C. guitar solo on top! amazing!
Another awesome cover of one of my favorite bands/songs from the late 70s/early 80s! Love your work!
Wonderful. Great lead guitar work!!
Been a Dan follower since the early 70s. This is nearly perfect!!! Great work and respect for the Dan.
the drummer rockin the Keith Carlock hair
One of me favorite songs
Guitar solo note for note original and you must be a real Pro to play this nightmare of a bass line
Horn section,drums,keys vocals absolutely fantastic
A very great job
With love from 🇩🇪
Classic tune covered by the best! Nothing but fun.
The drummer has the gas for that car!
Steely Dan needs to be celebrated! LLB does that in their usual excellent style. Several more of their songs to come I hope. Maybe Deacon Blues or Rikki Don’t Lose That Number? Tom Jones has the voice to cover.
Thanks for your kind words! No plans soon to hit SD again but maybe one day!
As a musician and drummer, (I studied under Bernard Purdie who is one of the best studio drummers around ) I would have to say your listening to the best cover band on YT, I know everybody has their own opinion about tribute and cover bands but when I watch & listen to every little note & harmony part, these guys are extremely tight. I also play acoustic guitar and fool around a little bit on keyboards. I'm retired now, but have a small 4 track studio in my house where I do some acoustic Beatles material and old Bee-Gee stuff ( before the disco crap ) I do all the tracks and vocal parts myself. Anyway..... When you talk about covering The Royal Scam album or Gaucho, or Aja, this is who you have to listen to. I think having a good "Ear" qualifies me for reviewing these guys.
Peace
Check out Brooklyn Charmers.
You are spot on, great review.
This is by far my favorite SD song, and you guys nailed it!
Bravo! I'm glad to find someone who can give some love to, and actually cover this Steely Dan material! It's really great stuff, and there probably are not many who could nail it like you guys!
3:39 This song has one of the all-time great outros, and you guys nailed it!
Said before but will repeat again! You are so damned visual, just gotta make a person smile all the way through...
Wow!! This is off the scale.. Wonderful camerawork as well..A lot of work on this video
TJ...white soul brother. Mike on the bass laying down an amazing foundation.
When I listen to you guys it takes me immediately Into an extremely happy place immersed in musical brilliance of the very highest standard .
I live, eat and breath music on a daily basis .
Dang!!!! Im smiling , I’m singing to every note , I’m foot tapping ❤️❤️❤️🎶🎵.
I simply love you guys , please don’t stop doing this wonderful thing with the food of life .....🎶🎵🎶 your special music .❤️❤️❤️
Perfect LLB! Thank you.
I could just sit and listen to LLB's Steely covers all day long. Every note contributed by every singer and player is on point 👌 👏 Grew up listening to SD from a very young age, and this ages like a fine wine. Superb job!
Incredible. Royal Scam hit the streets when I was a freshman and my brother was a junior at Clemson University. It was all Budweiser and weed back in those days and this album took the campus (and many others) by storm. You guys absolutely nailed the instruments and the harmoneys. Lead vocals by certain artists cannot be perfectly replicated because, unlike a instrument, they cannot be perfectly reproduced, but the vocals were great nonetheless. To sing like another artist that stays within a certain range is fairly easy, but to reproduce the generations of characteristics that make up an individual voice of someone like Donald Fagen, impossible. Hell, he can't even do it anymore. Your Steely Dan covers are pure gold.
Yall knocked it out of the park..and the guitarist ... the Larry Carlton solo..into outer space..fabulous!
One of my favorites by Steely Dan and you guys make it feel fresh and alive again. I can tell you put your all in these performances and love what you do. Keep rockin' the world!
Dayum, that guy is channeling Larry Carlton!
Guitar was excellent!
Amazing . I saw Dan live 2 years ago and this is just as good . Amazing job of that iconic Carlton solo
So well done guys n gals. Props to Dale for having the courage and chops to attack perhaps the greatest guitar solo ever. The vocals outstanding too. Thanks.
This seems like it would have been a lot more challenging than some of your other covers. But all your work is carefully thought out and finely rendered.
My favorite performance! Thank you to Tom for the great vocals. His timbre on the Steely Dan songs sounds so good!
Well done. As usual.
It's criminal that this video only has 32K views and LBL only has 91K subscribers. Well, I can say that you have one more after today! Good grief...that was fantastic!
Imagine what a juggernaut Steely Dan would have been if this voice fronted the band?
Did great with the guitar solo! Larry Carlton wrote it, probably while he was high on Kid
Charlemegne's illegal LSD! ha ha. Anyway, now I have a new respect for this old classic!
Fantastic cover👍👍👍👍
Tom Jones has a, spiritual at least, brother in Andy Seymour who does covers with the Hindley Street Country Club who do covers of great music almost at the level of the Lexington Lab Band. Bluesy and soulful vocals with no ego. Go Tom and Andy!
Every new group you play just gets better and better It doesn’t hurt to have your awesome female backups Amanda Clarke ❤
I don’t know where I’ve been and not having heard about these guys but I’ll tell you what every song they do they nail it every time and Steely Dan is not an easy band to cover it’s all got to be perfect And these guys do one hell of a job speaking as a fellow musician
Bravo, you guys never fail to amaze me. Instrumentally so faithfully produced to the original and while vocals will differ, there is always so much passion and respect for the music I can't help but be in awe with how good you all are. Hats off again!
I’m a Steely Dan super fan and this cover is as good as it gets. Only 7600 views? I suppose there is a marketing aspect to RUclips but what is it? I don’t get it. Great work here !!
Maybe not QUITE as 'good' as the original (it's more a matter of personal preference than skill or sound quality)... but WOW!!! Outstanding cover!! Everyone was great, but special callouts to the bass and the solo guitar work!! Fantastic job! Steely Dan? It requires seriously skilled musicians to do their stuff. This isn't the usual "play a couple chords really loud while shouting the lame vocals!" This is serious jazz-rock fusion! Best cover of THIS song ever! Now I have to hear more of Steely Dan. You blew my socks off with Saturday in the Park. You guys (and gals) are superb! Not only excellent musicians, but incredibly versatile.. Boston to Zeppelin. Probably an "A" in there too! I've been perusing you for a few hours now. You made my day!!!
You guys are AMAZING! Just subbed!
I keep hearing the lead singer, Jim Peterik, from The Ides of March when this guy sings.
Whenever anyone talks about playing Kid Charlemagne, its always about THE SOLO. Larry Carlton's creation stands like the guitar version of the Mona Lisa - perfection that shouldn't be tampered with. And this hits all the right notes and tone, so bravo! Even Steely Dan's touring guitarist for the past few decades (Jon Herrington) hasn't played it as good - but I think he's just being lazy or bored. There were small differences in feel, with Carlton being a bit more edgy, but overall this is fantastic work!
I would love to hear your take on Deacon Blues!
Kid Charlemagne and Kid Ryan reunited! Unbeatable! But please tell Squirrel Girl not to wear white, it doesn't do justice to her beauty, tell her to wear red instead... suits her just like a dream! As it did in Edge of Seventeen, check it out! Won't waste your time, mate!
Would love to see this passion to perform in performance of origional music the talent there in truck loads , LLB do i hear a single.?
Is that Larry Carlton? Sure sounds like Larry Carlton!
This is to the bass player Mike, I just got done finishing up an old one, but one that I think was very good, and I was wondering if you guys ever thought or even fooled around with this tune.
Remember " Reflections " by Marmalade, it's in G and a tune I always dug. Just puttin' it out there.
Is there gas in the car, is there gas in the car?
Owsley Stanley is Kid Charlemagne
Great. Exceptional musicianship all around. Nailed the solos. I do think that an ES 335 would better articulate the the bite and sustain of the original.
Can you play my favourite, "Don't Take Me Alive" ?
Awesome job, but I am hearing keyboards that I am not seeing played?
You are! We thought we could get the essence of this tune without the clavinet but after filming decided it needed to be there so we added it in post
@@LexingtonLabBand Thank you for the reply. I can relate because after our awesome keyboard player left our band, I had to continue on guitar but record all the keyboard parts myself and play them back during gigs. Lots of work for me as the band leader, guitarist AND keyboardist. Thank you for all that your team of people are doing for the music lovers in the world.
