He is 4 now and not nearly as destructive but just last night he destroyed our daughter’s plushy blanket. The insides were all over the couch. I saw him laying there and his look was like “What Mawma, I didn’t do anything.” The stuffing was hanging from his mouth. Busted. We have 4 kiddos also, 9,7,5,2, so it has been quite challenging at times to deal with Bruno, when he would act out like a child! But they are a GREAT breed, highly intelligent, very loyal and protective to their family, and he is definitely a Mawma’s boy. Just the difference was he didn’t crop his ears. So I didn’t know until it was mentioned that thats what they are. My ex’s dog was the sweetest boy ever. He was huge and didn’t know his size. He stepped on my foot once. I wasn’t wearing shoes and it felt like a dumbbell fell on it. But you could tell he felt bad when I doubled over. I miss him. He had the sweetest face. Drooled everywhere. He passed away at only 4 years old. He think he had a brain tumor. I didn’t get to say goodbye. When I was there he was like my fur son. This made me reminisce and reminds me of him. Thank you for sharing

There is a obidence training that I do with my Corso that I believe is worth trying and it's harder to train than the regular sit and come commands. When we come back from a walk, I make sure I always walk in before him and I don't let him just run in, I have him sit and stay by the open door while I go inside the house. This teaches him patience and obidence. I will go to another room thats farthest from the front door and wait 30 seconds, before I give him verbal command to come in.
Hi! Thanks, I'll def try to implement that. I'm taking him to OffLeash K9 training and they mentioned the same thing! The trainer explained that it's important that he understands that he can't be released from a command unless I tell him too. So when I take him on walks I give him the command to heel so that he walks by my side and at my same speed, no pulling. It has really helped him with his obedience when there is a distraction and with his patience, if he's excited to get somewhere.
@@artv6624 I agree but I've learned over the course of 25+ years of training humans to raise their dogs, some people do need to see you do it first and guide them when it's their turn.

You’re welcome. I wish I could post a picture of my Dante so you could see. Could you do a video on his toys? My dog is very limited because he’s so big & strong. I see tons of videos of smaller breeds reviewing/testing toys but never our breed or giant dogs in general. Thanks!
Great video! Very informative. I'm falling in love with the breed. I live in Hawaii though, and there are so many restrictions around Guard dog breeds. I'm still trying to figure out how to balance housing, community, and big strong dog. 💕
Hi. I’m a subscriber from South Africa. Cane corso is not a common breed in my country. My only exposure to the breed so far has been through videos like the ones you post and I’m really getting a sense of the type of dogs they are. I prefer large dogs but their power and controllability are a concern for me so the combination of size/power and intelligence are very important to me. That’s why I think this is the breed for me. Thanks for sharing your beautiful Dante’s personality; just kind of information I’m looking for.
Michelle , have you owned several dogs in your life? I have owned dogs off and on during my life but mainly when I was a kid. Would you recommend someone who is a “relatively first time” dog owner? I’ve been around dogs off and on my whole life but never had one as an adult that was MINE. I’ve been doing a lot of research and i keep coming back to the cane corse breed. Seems to be well rounded.. big dog, intelligent, good temperament, trainable etc. I’m just a little hesitant because I have heard a couple times in diff videos that these dogs are meant for “experienced” dog owners but no one really defines what that actually means. I feel confident in my knowledge of dogs but looking for outside perspectives.
I was just like most cane corso owners and got one for the protection/ low key end of things. They really are so stubborn they're difficult to train. I suppose if you want just the "out of the gate" protection dog they work, but at the same time a lot of people (myself included) that you have to make sure they come from parents with STABLE mentalities! It makes all the difference in the world as it applies to they're apprehensiveness towards strangers. A second note - these are not your normal working dogs. Train ability is good but not easy - if you want to compete with them make sure the parents are from working backgrounds and MAYBE you will have a shot. These are definitely pets and not working animals generally though I know there are a few out there that can make it to competition level. I love my cane corso but will definitely be going with a working line german shepherd for my next dog.
I've thought of getting a cane corso but am sooo spoiled by Dobermans. They are ultra smart, naturally protective and eager to please (without the use of treats/clickers). I trained my current dobie from an electric wheelchair. She went from obeying voice commands to hand signals to facial expressions. Since my condition causes increasing paralysis, this trainability is essential.
Thank you so very much. I am so excited for my puppy to be born in July and i can bring my forever friend home. I think he will like having horses to guard as well as being my house pet that does everything with me. 💗💗
I’m so happy for you! What I’ve seen from Dante is that he doesn’t care where, how, or why but as long as he’s with me he’s happy. He’ll love spending time with you ☺️ good luck!
Amazing experience sharing, I have two Bullmastiff puppies, 8month old female and 7months old male. I am planning to get a Cane corso male puppy too. Around 4 months one probably. Do they go along with Bullmastiffs. They also amazing powerful gentle giants. What’s your recommendation?
Could you control him if need be , say he went after someone or another dog etc.? Are these dogs like the presa canairio (spelling ?) .Does he have problems being alone ? Thanks
It's all about training and your relationship with your dog. By nature, these dogs will feel uneasy about strangers and new things because of their guarding instinct, that's why socializing and exposing your dog to as many different scenarios is important so he won't have as many new things to feel uneasy towards. With that said, the most important thing is your training/relationship with the dog. He needs to be able to see you as the leader and decision maker. When I'm walking Dante, I can't give him space to make decisions for himself, he's always doing something I told him, always following commands. If you're not freaking out about seeing a new person, neither should he. If you're not afraid of another dog walking by, that thought shouldn't even cross his mind. If we feel like he's focusing on something (having what we call "impure thoughts") we redirect his attention to obedience. This means we don't tolerate even the slightest idea of him misbehaving. Cane corsi are not dogs to start fights, the problem is that they will most definitely finish them. They won't charge at a dog, but if a dog charges them they won't back down. He would not like if another dog starts being disrespectful towards him or his owners due to their dominant temperament. They don't have as high of a prey drive as the Presa Canarios, but overall they're similar. Dante is very attached to his pack, and he doesn't like to be alone. We've left him alone for 8 hours without any issues, but that's not a daily occurrence.
Legio XXI Rapax Hi bud! So we had an “almost issue” last weekend. We had our 10 yr old nephew stay the night with our oldest son, and Bruno picked up on his uneasiness from the first moment. He’s been around Bruno before but he was definitely intimidated. So we had him give Bruno a treat and hoped it would help calm things down. For whatever reason, Bruno NEVER calmed completely down. He was on alert the entire 18 hours our nephew was here. If he and my son were upstairs playing video games in my son’s room, Bruno would go from the couch to upstairs, check things out and come back down. We told the boys to close the door so that Bruno couldn’t go into the room without my husband or I present. Then they came downstairs and as soon as Bruno knew my nephew was coming down the stairs and could hear him, he would start growling and would watch him. I was on the couch with Bruno when my nephew started to chase my 2 yr old, in play. Bruno reacted in less than a second, was off the couch and was in between my son and my nephew, hackles up, growling and ready. We of course immediately called him back, but my nephew knew immediately to not play that game. His response was “he’s just trying to protect you guys.” Another time my nephew hit a brownie out of my daughter’s hand, and took it and ate it. She cried because it was the last one, so Bruno immediately went over to my nephew and once again got in between the two. It was like a warning...So anyway, that was the first time we have seen how quickly Bruno can go from calm to guard mode. This did make us uneasy with having our other extended family members, mainly nieces and nephews, to come stay the night...not quite sure what to do here. Any tips? I value your CC knowledge and wisdom. My nephew has the tendency to be a “bully” at times, so maybe Bruno sensed this and said “Not in my house or against my pack...” I don’t know but it was a very stressful 18 hours. Thanks for any advice❤️
You will be amaze at him compare to any other dog you ever had before. My wife love him Mine is 130 at 18 months. He don't care about other people or dog orchase but will know when to protect and big plus. Quite dog.
Seriously! They are truly an amazing breed. And I think that him not caring much for people other than family or friends makes them even more special. These kinds of dogs will protect their loved ones with their lives. My husband and I are so happy we got Dante. He brings us a lot of happiness!
Great info! I wish I can post a picture of my Cane Corso x Boerboel (South African Mastiff) he’s 2 and he’s exactly how you describe the character of my pup, Guardian. He loves to play but I think something is wrong with his protective skills. He’s aloof with them but once a stranger says “hi” he’ll wiggle his butt lol. I completely can relate with Dante acting differently. I’m stern with Guardian and my wife is laid back, more like babying him lol. But great content! And you’re right there’s not a lot of videos about them on RUclips at least.
Hi Stacie! Yeah Dante was a handful at 5 months too! (Still is haha) But it's okay, their temperament is very cyclical until they mature. Currently we feed him science diet for giant breeds, but I'll be switching to RAW to help with his pimples.
Michelle Brasil I also have a cane corso she’s two now and I also used science diet and she had bad pimples so I switched to a more natural diet for canines I live next to a organic farm so it makes life easier to feed organic. I trained her myself and the thing I can’t stop and couldn’t figure out how was to stop jumping on people who come into my house my god she’s stubborn but she sits, shakes, lays down, comes when I call her and when needs to be leashed she’s almost perfect but I can’t stop the jumping so if you are willing to give me any tips I’d appreciate it so much thank you for this awesome video
@@robertomoore9487 Hi Scott! Dante also used to have sciende diet and pimples haha. He still gets a few here and there. He gets them under his chin. What really helped Dante was cleaning his chin with a clean damp warm towel or unscented wipe after he ate. About you pup jumping on people, I can tell you what we did for Dante. When we have guests over, we tell him to sit, or go to his place and wait until everyone comes in. We ask our guests to ignore and not give him any attention until everyone is settled. That way he understands "oh, so if I wait and do what I'm told, then everyone will come to me and say hi"
@@MichelleBrasil Hi Michelle, Im new here and noticed you mentioned feeding your beautiful dog sceine diet. Are you referring to Hill's prescription diet Z/D or something else. My American bulldog is on this because she has skin allergies. Before she used this she was covered in bloody sores, her skin was a mess and she was miserable. The rescue I got her from had exhausted thier funds at the Veterinarian on her until the vet gave them samples of this food and it works.😁
I got a female adult I adopted more or less she adopted me but great with me from start scared to death over everyone else. Is this normal how do I get fear out of her
Thank you for the insight into the Cane Corso breed. I too never heard of them, but from watching youTube, I'm learning all about them. One thing for sure, they are a lot of Dog, to much for me, but it's nice seeing them.
Sounds like you both know what you're doing. But ALL large breed dogs MUST Have obedience training. And, something many owners or potential owners don't mention in videos or know is...they MUST be physically able to control their dogs at any time. Whether or not the dog is being aggressive or not. If not there can be trouble for every one involved. So often I see owners walking their large breed dogs you know would be at the mercy of the dog...if it suddenly saw a dog buddy in the park across the street it might bolt to the friend. It might jump on some one afraid of dogs just to say "Hello". Etc.It could be jealous of another dog and "bite onto the ear" of another to make a point (not to hurt the other dog). Just like if the potential owner isn't athletic they shouldn't look at Dobermans. Dobermans can run at 30 MPH easily. The average Doberman. They need to be run hard every day for their exercise. Or part of.
Actually with that friend situation, it really depends on socialisation. You should know that if you walk with your puppy in a lot of different places you will in 95% of situations avoid that. By changing places and situations dogs learn to focus on you. Loses interest in bikes, cars, dogs etc if you hold him. So yes, leadership is important but not only to the big dogs. Actually, dogs like akita inu, AST and other medium sized dogs are more common to the party and "losing their minds". Dogs are slaves of habits and thats most important to be aware of. You need immediately judge bad obediences at the time dogs do it. Not after a half hour. For example if you punish your dog because of mess he made when you was away he wouldn't know for what's he got punishment or critics. But if it happens in front of you and you react fast, he will not try that again. Ofc im talking about human punishment like closing him in a bathroom for few minutes to calm down. Not like punching or any neanderthal stuff that owners sadly do pretty often.
I’ve always had Pit Bulls and I love them, but after i got my first Cane I was hooked! But make no mistake they need a handler that doesn’t play! If you are not alfalfa, he’ll take over! I know they are cute as babies, but that doesn’t last long! They are big stubborn smart working dogs
All these mastiff breeds need a lot of obedience training and experience, but I love all these mastiff breeds, Cane Corsos, Presa Canarios, Bullmastiffs, Dogo Argentinos
My american bully is the same, in the way that she is so sensitive and feels everything lol I know when someone is scared of her cause she is too! Love your video 😊

We love our Corso and are (obviously) huge fans of the breed - see which dog matches better your lifestyle and research the breeders near you, they're usually very open and should let you meet the parents before buying a dog. Good luck!
I liked this video, I thought it was honest and informative to someone that doesn't have a Cane Corso. But a chew rope goes a very long way with these dogs. Not to mention get a pair of thick leather insulated gloves to play with them! That( in my opinion) goes a very long way!
Ugh Dante is my dream dog! I’m a Rottie lover and owner 😍 but a Cane Corso is for sure the next breed on my list. I’m glad that you touched on the different roles you and your husband play. These dogs DEFINITELY need a stern, dominant pack leader like your husband. Otherwise these dogs can become a real nightmare for their owners, just like Rottweilers
Guess you didn’t crate train from shots of Dante with the house a mess,he is a handsome devil and very well behaved now, like anything worth while it takes time great vid.
What good is a "guard dog" locked in a crate. I raised a very intelligent and well behaved Bullmastiff without using a crate or a clicker. I don't believe in 'crate training' - I think it is for lazy owners who don't want to put in the work for socialization training. Crate proponents claim that a dog feels 'safe' in the crate, as if it were a den of a wild dog. Well, the dens of wild dogs don't have locks on them. If a dogs wants to go to its den/crate then leave it available and open for the dog to CHOOSE to enter or not. As for 'clickers', I want MY dog trained to MY voice, not to an anonymous click.
Also check out "dogumentary tv" there's been a few Cane Corso videos on his channel very informative! I my self have two a smokey grey male and phawn with black mask female! Excellent dogs!
Hi Ricardo! YES. I actually love that channel. I would watch it so much before I got Dante. Their camera quality is awesome and content is A+. I will def check them out again for some inspiration haha. I couldn't agree more. My husband and I are thinking about getting a female too!

I was sold on corsos until he jumped on the counter for the pizza. Nm. Ty. He does seem very intelligent.
Can you make a video about how to find the right breeder/what questions to ask? Please and thank you , you're video are so helpful
How much does he weigh? Thanks 🙏
I am a Great Dane owner ( we had five) but are looking into a Corso from Twelve Titans in Georgia. They look like wonderful dogs.
We've left him alone for 8 hours without any issues, but that's not a daily occurrence.
those are really good questions. do you have a cane corso?
Legio XXI Rapax THANK YOU❤️
@@JelloVibez no , I have a cat lol
Nice dog and you seem to research very well. Great job and cuddles for your family from my Cane Corso Cesar
Thank you! Dante says thanks too haha
You will be amaze at him compare to any other dog you ever had before. My wife love him
Mine is 130 at 18 months.
Great video. There are several hundred Cane Corso videos on the breed tho. Sharing this with the wife.
Where did you get him? He is stunning.
1:53 the dog shows his lipstick 😂😂. Put that away Dante kids are watching this video😂😂😂
Cane Corso best dogs ever that’s why I got one she is very loyal and very protected great with kids
Great video and you really hit all the important points.
Thank you so much!
I agree. do you have a corso as well?
Angelo Lim asking me? If so, I have 2 Corso’s. 😊
I love love love love your positivity and your energy💓💓💓💓💓💓
Omggg she liked my comment💓💓💓
What type of food do you feed Dante? I have 5 month female cane corso and she is wild but doing better with training class. Thanks from Stacie
I would like to know as well. I feed my corso raw and kibble. Do you feed your corso raw Stacie?
@@MichelleBrasil Hi Michelle, Im new here and noticed you mentioned feeding your beautiful dog sceine diet. Are you referring to Hill's prescription diet Z/D or something else. My American bulldog is on this because she has skin allergies. Before she used this she was covered in bloody sores, her skin was a mess and she was miserable. The rescue I got her from had exhausted thier funds at the Veterinarian on her until the vet gave them samples of this food and it works.😁
I got a female adult I adopted more or less she adopted me but great with me from start scared to death over everyone else. Is this normal how do I get fear out of her
YOUR DOG LOOKS GREAT
Thank you for the insight into the Cane Corso breed. I too never heard of them, but from watching youTube, I'm learning all about them. One thing for sure, they are a lot of Dog, to much for me, but it's nice seeing them.
Very much enjoyed your story with you Cane Corso. I love the Breed myself.
You, Lucas and Dante together are very very cute!!!
And Dante looks so cute!!
Thank you Julia
I posted 8 months ago. I have my Gunar. Just wanted to say thanks for your vids. Very good info
LOL!!! Love it! I have an 8 month old baby and a 7 month old Cane Corso!🥰 soooo much love and soooo much work! Character building for sure😁
Yassssss! Go cane corsos!
cane corsos are the best! do you have one as well>?
Were did you get the collar at?
All these mastiff breeds need a lot of obedience training and experience, but I love all these mastiff breeds, Cane Corsos, Presa Canarios, Bullmastiffs, Dogo Argentinos
I've got a Corsi and they are a handful but all they want to do is protect you and your property love them Grc australia
Dante is a great looking dog. I am looking into reputable breeders; CAN YOU PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR BREEDER INFORMATION?
may I ask where you got your cane corso from?
Hi! Yes, we got him from a breeder in Tennessee. He is AKC certified by facebook.com/Worldwide.Cane.Corsos/
Michelle Brasil TV thank you I’ve actually been looking at them to get a Cane Corso from. I want a blue or blue brindle!!

keeping a cane corso in a apartment is a bad idea?
GREAT VIDEO !!!!
Who makes your dog's collar?
Hey!
Here're the links to his collar and e-collar:

e-Collar: amzn.to/2UCLa3p
As for his leash, we use www.packleashes.com/collections/all you can use the code DANTE20 for 20% off on your order
My foster akita Karu was like that. She would be a little anxious with me because I was not too strict with her. It was hard to give her away to her new forever home that adopted her last friday. She knew something was wrong and kept leaning on us and licking us and looking at us. I miss her so much.
A true Neapolitan cannot resist pizza.
DANTE IS SOOOOO CUTE!
ADORABLE!🐶😘🐶😍🐶😘🐶😍
you make him come?
Ya, mine sleeps with me, usually on me, so I never get much sleep! I don't have the heart to kick him off the bed.

You should be proud !! Dante looks like a wonderful dog !! Excellent video
Where did you get Dante from. Im intrested in his breeders
I'm on the fence between shep and corso. Your vid is swaying me to the corso. Thank you.
Cane Corsi are an amazing breed if you put in the work! I'm glad you're thinking about joining the pack!
Very informative! Thank you!
Very good.
Thank you!
Dogo argentino is my favorite breed, and then
Cane corso, GSD, rottweiler, doberman
Hii
Great video
Quick question and sorry if I missed it. But I was wondering who your breeder was. I really like how your Corso looks. Thanks
Hi! Yes we got Dante from Worldwide Cane Corso, this is their facebook link facebook.com/Worldwide.Cane.Corsos/
Thank you! Dante says thank you for the compliment haha :)
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
How old Is Dante ? I have a 6 month old female Corso named Stella she is only about 65lbs so far
Please join us at Cane Corsos of Central Texas on Facebook. :)
Honey,,, Yes Dear,,, Have you seen the couch anywhere ? OMG !!!! 😲😲😲😂😂😂
I'm on the fence between a Cane Corso and a Doberman...I just can't decide!
We love our Corso and are (obviously) huge fans of the breed - see which dog matches better your lifestyle and research the breeders near you, they're usually very open and should let you meet the parents before buying a dog. Good luck!
Ok, thank you!
new subscriber! great video!
Thanks I do have one 3mos " Sizou"
Is that a zibra
I liked this video, I thought it was honest and informative to someone that doesn't have a Cane Corso. But a chew rope goes a very long way with these dogs. Not to mention get a pair of thick leather insulated gloves to play with them! That( in my opinion) goes a very long way!
prowannab the gloves especially when their pups
If you're not the boss, they are. Just like kids, it's not good.
Having a dog like this probably makes couples very mindful of how they argue.
Where is the dog
Hi! If you'd like to see more of Dante you can checkout my other videos :) ruclips.net/video/Di0ucF8Dw7w/видео.html
Great dog
Ugh Dante is my dream dog! I’m a Rottie lover and owner 😍 but a Cane Corso is for sure the next breed on my list. I’m glad that you touched on the different roles you and your husband play. These dogs DEFINITELY need a stern, dominant pack leader like your husband. Otherwise these dogs can become a real nightmare for their owners, just like Rottweilers
Owner and dog both are very beautiful 😍
I have a Great Dane and a German Shepard I’m thinking about getting a Cane Corso!!
Damn thats some big dogs
Very smart animals.
Beautiful 🐕 i have a presta canario
YUP best breed for the right kinda people!👍
Brilliant Dog.
Nice video. CC is the best breed by far.
