    The blue, arch-top structures are for brooding chickens or other fowl. If you look closely, the arch top is hinged along its length for easy access. There is a low opening across the front for the chicks to get out, and it looks like there were once strips of cloth hanging at the opening for a bit of protection from weather and flys.

    Thank you for another interesting Aperitivo 50. Since nothing gets built in Italy without much paperwork and loads of permits, I would think the local Municipal Office would have records on this rather large structure, and smaller structures and especially an in the ground swimming pool, which as you said you have an above ground pool for this reason that it is quite costly and involved. Certainly a geometro, an architect was involved so there are licensed professionals. I think that with some research you will have your answers. To be continued ....

      The newspaper from '91 may have been left there by a squatter. I can't imagine that the owner (owned all of those houses passed away and there wasn't an heir) and the government didn't swoop in to takeover. I've heard that Italy pays a stipend up to 30k euros for people to buy property, renovate and make it their prime residency in Tuscany!

      Italy has been shrinking for some time now. Rural regions are slowly but surely emptying out since there's no jobs, so all the young people are moving to the cities. Same as in Japan. Spain and Portugal are getting there. Greece too. Even germany will get there soon. It's what happens when people don't have kids.
      This is only the beginning. You'll see a lot more of this in europe, and around the world, in the coming decades.

    • @joyceconnor2913
      @joyceconnor2913 Месяц назад

      @@mysterioanonymous3206 my thought was that the place was left to an heir who didn't want it/ the upkeep and let it go back to the earth. Conversely, there was no heir at all. Then came the glass-breaking and graffiti scribbling vandals. I was a bit concerned for the doggie feet.

When we were in Stresa in Northern Italy a few years ago, there were several abandoned villas/mansions on the shores of Lago Maggiore close to town and hotels rather than far in the woods as these ones were. Maybe you can go to the town office (that's what we call it in US) to get more info on the property. It must have been stunning in its day. Thank you for sharing. Love to you all.

    Great video! How fun!! I wonder, since the last house you found seemed much older, if this could possibly have been a sort of family property, where the grandparents lived in the oldest one, then their grown children in the 70s built the first one we saw. Then, twenty years later (since the newspaper you found said 1991) the grown children either aged out or passed away and they either had no children or their children moved away and couldn't keep up the taxes or whatever. Time to go chat up the old folks at the pub in town, I'd say! (Or local real estate agents??) Keep us posted what you find out! A Mystery to be solved!! I love it! 😊😊😊

    That was mesmerizing! I loved every minute of it. I hope you can find a paper trail and or some older people who might know the history of the house. It must have been magnificent. Thanks for a virtual visit that I will never be able to take in real life. I'll be re-watching this one again and again. P.S/ I was thinking of one of your English friends who might want to move to Italy! LOL .

    What a fun day! Carlo seemed quiet during your explorations, and i wondered if he was deep in thought 🤔. Like some of the other comments, I was thinking about the dog's feet. I noticed Indie checking her left rear foot at one point and wondered if she stepped on something. It would be fun to do a follow-up video if you could find some history on these buildings. Surely, someone in the area knows the story.

    Mo ha fatto effetto vedere tutte quelle case abbandonate nella stessa zona, particolarmente la prima. Mi rende triste. Case senza calore e amore. Strano vedere tutto questo ex splendore in rovina. Viene voglia conoscere la storia dietro!🤔

    That first villa must have been amazing, with the iron in the windows and marble staircase! Such a shame it was just left to fall apart. I wanted to see how Skye got out of the pool! This was a very cool video.

    This is awesome! I absolutely love it when you go exploring abandoned buildings/houses/ruins. I always wonder what the place originally looked like. How did they live? This place is especially intriguing with all of the different houses not far from each other. I hope you explore the other properties and do some research to discover the history. Thank you!
