Thanks for watching the video GROCERY SHOPPING IN POSITANO: No Supermarkets, No Car & 465 steps!
OH, Indie's face when you tell her she has to behave and stay home. lol. Priceless.
Did you see Kitty and Holly on the sides too?! 😂
We loved being a part of a normal day with you in Italy. We don’t care whether it is in Tuscany or Positano. Thank you!
I love both places, each has their own charm.
Glad to see you back in Positano. Such quaint, beautiful views, fresh sea air and, yes, the stairs. But you'll be back in shape in no time. I can imagine how happy Carlo's mother and brothers will be to see you. How blessed you are to live in two gorgeous, absolutely stunning places!
As If in Tuscany where they live there was bad air..😂
I am Team Tuscany and don’t care if we ever go back to Positano.
His mother cannot go shopping. Because of those stairs they have to do it for her. How do old people get to the doctor or dentist or vet if they have a pet?
You can’t ask your Positano neighbors if you can pick up anything for them!
@mircat28 she can get around better since the elevator was installed!
Your love for Positano and its people is shown by your willingness to endure all these difficult living conditions (hundreds of steps, no parking, crowds, no big stores, etc.).
You have no other choice when you live there! 🤷🏽♀️
They do have a choice..they have another home in Tuscany.
Well you certainly have not lost your camera skills on the scooter Nicki!!!!😊 I love seeing everyday life in Positano❤
Carlo and Nicki I can't tell you how much joy you've brought me in the last couple of years. Watching your channels takes me places I might not ever see. I feel like I'm there with you especially in this video. It might be your normal mundane day but we get to be there with you and enjoy the scenery. Happy New Year and God Bless you and your family! ♥
Yes i feel same! My brother is in Italy on holiday so i watch videos like this to feel closer to him. 🥰
I Loved The Move - where you grab the camera after you got on the scooter.
Yes! It made me smile!
Yeah, me too!😅
@@sandrachristensen7282 They get better & better. I could have went on the whole ride. No need to speed it up.
@@marybethcompetiello199 It made me smile also. Their video's always do.
Me too, that was cool 😎
Love these short videos of what life is like for you in Positano. Seems everyone knows you there. How lovely.
One of my favourite things to do when I travel is check out local grocery stores. Always so neat to see the similarities and differences. Thanks for taking us along on your shopping trip!
All those steps in Positano, and all the work you do in Tuscany, keep you fit and well and young!
My husband and I have a small hobby farm in Ohio. We don’t travel because of the animals so your videos are my way of seeing the world outside my own bubble. So beautiful!
Cheryl there are travellers that will look after your farm while you travel. The y stay rent free and are very reliable and knowledgeable. Our family have used they many time. Travelling housesitters
I almost feel like I'd riding on the scooter with you. What a great job of filing that. I so enjoy tagging alone.
I can now see why you are such a creative cook and create delicious meals with using only a few ingredients by what you have to go through to purchase those few ingredients to supplement what you grow yourselves. Would love to see more of your cooking videos. ❤️
Great camerawork in such a bustling, winding environment. You're a lovely couple. I really enjoy insight into Italian life.
The Positano vlogs are my favorite!
I will never take going to Tesco's for granted after seeing how many steps you have.
It’s like living in an old, small village. I love it!
Happy New Year, lovely family, may your bags never be empty 🎈🎉👍
Wow... shopping in Positano is Absolutely EXHAUSTING 😮
I would think you can only buy ahead for 3 days considering on how much you can carry home!
All that exercise to do the shopping helps offset all the good food.
But they live longer they are so blessed with health rather than north. American driving everywhere. Lol.
What a treat on New Year's day! I love to watch the shopping! Happy New Year ❤❤❤
Both places are nice. I live in Umbria and I do not like the unsalted bread, (that began because of the salt wars centuries ago), I went to a festival in Umbria and they were selling breads--a man in the booth said, let you show you what to do with the unsalted bread if you need salt. He toasted it, then brushed it with melted butter and sprinkles sea salt on it. It was delicious! You might want to try it in Tuscany.
Or just use salted butter.
Why dont You bring a big backpack on the scooter to carry the groceries in up and down the stairs?
How I envy your shopping in Positano, it's so friendly and much nicer than supermarkets! The supermarkets are so impersonal and no-one talks to anybody, unless you can't find something😅! I also love how safe you are in Positano as well, I think that reflects so much on the people as to how thoughtful and kind they are with everyone❤. Happy New Year everyone!! xx
Happy New Year! I loved this video. I love seeing you shopping in all the little stores separately. And the fact you know so many people, is so great. Thank you for sharing this.
✨Happy New Year!!🎉🪅✨
Blessings 💜💜💜
Happy New Year!!!!! 🎊 🪩🎉🪩🎊
Nicki, Did you just do a live-camera grab on a rolling motorcycle?! You're amazing! :D
Well, what a lovely time to leave the country and come back to the flavors, the colors, the scenery! When you say about the steps, hardship, it does not compare to you e Carlo, traveling on your scooter bike, with the site of the Amalfi houses, and the beauty of the sea. I laughed when Carlo, told Indy, "No, you cannot come, you stay home." Indy, dropped his head with sorrow. How cute is that? Thank you again for taking us with you!
After all this time of hearing about the 800 steps it dawned on me up & down is almost a mile!
Love seeing the brands you have there. Surprised that you have Barilla and De Ceccho [sp?] as I thought those brands were for export, not for you who live there. Of course, you also have Kellogg's from our US. No Post cereals I notice. Interesting. Sometimes it is hard to see as you flip the camera around too quickly, but I use the pause button to scan the shelves. Love it. Thanks, Carlo for telling us about the local apples and Nicki about the tuna. Boring to you, but very interesting to us. Love it and I know you love the family sense of Positano. I had wondered about that when you moved to Tuscany. The ease of travel is wonderful for you there, though and I think you have worked miracles with the house and grounds. Love you two and your adventures. Wishing you a wonderful new year as your Tuscany home is more settled now and this year it will be easier for you to live both places. Ciao for now. 💜💜💜
Lovely to see the many things you can buy in your local shops.
Happy New Year!❤
Yes, I loved this shopping trip. What great fun. I would love to have everything you showed available to me in the US. Growing up there were separate markets for everything. I grew up in NY State in a small town predominately of Italian residents. I really miss the small markets. The food was healthy back then as well. Hopefully, the US will get back to healthy eating. Happy New Year to you and Carlo. I really love this channel as well as your other one.
Great video! Shopping in the small shops is definitely more fun. Big supermarkets are not much fun at all. Small shops used to be very popular in Tuscany, too. They couldnt compete with supermarket prices and many have closed.
Happened across the world…unfortunately
We started watching the Positano Diaries at the beginning of COVID - when your videos were food for the restless traveler’s soul. We have been watching ever since. In November, we finally made it to Positano from the US. We stayed at Villa Fortuna near Chiesa Nuova. This may be my favorite video of yours so far because we visited many of the establishments - the tabaccheria, the bar, we even had some great panini from the mercato. In fact, our favorite meal was at Il Grottino Azzurro. It makes it special to see familiar places after watching your channels for so long. Keep doing what you do!
Thank-you guys for another superb video - I'm all chilled out now with a happy, contented feeling in my belly 😂 - I love the Amalfi coast - soon, be in Ravello for my holidays 😀 xx see you sunday xx
Oh my what a beautiful life in Positano, lovely to see, but my inclinations are to Tuscany, much less claustrophobic. I love the riches of Positano in friends and community and the two of you are the jewels that I live vicariously through as you make your way riding or walking, thank you kids for today’s get away! Happy New Year and I await each of your videos with great expectations!!❤❤❤❤
I see Indie understands Italian very well, aww, poor baby. Those stairs sure get steeper as we age! Thanks for a great vlog, again.
These are some of my favorite videos. Whenever I visit "touristy" places I always wonder how the people who live there do regular things like grocery shopping.
How lucky you are to see the sea everyday, so beautiful ! 🙏🏼😘
I love these charming videos. It makes a change to the dreary UK weather. What a lovely view of Positano. Shopping looks fun on a scooter. All the fruit and vegetables looks so fresh and tasty.
It's a refreshing to see actual day to day life in different parts of Italy.
Positano ❤❤❤
Have a great day Nicki & Carlo 💙
Oh how I enjoy the shopping, cooking and especially the eating out videos. I’m always so greedy, wanting more of the eating out, more pictures of the food and descriptions of all the dishes. I know it’s all a lot of work for you Nicki and we appreciate you so much! I enjoy your videos so very much. I found you guys in 2020 and I believe I’ve watched most all your and Carlo’s videos and many of them twice. Visiting Italy is what dreams are made of. I get to visit twice a week now. I just adore Carlo! You two are amazing.
I wish your Mom was still here to know what a success you are with your talented filming, editing, and narrating! You are a chip off the block of both your successful parents. I bet your Mom would be so proud of you. thousands and thousands of people waiting each week for your videos to post.
Thank you so very much for sharing your life with us. LOVED the grocery shopping today. I love watching what you guys find for your new home and getting to see how you turn it into your own. Carlo can make, fix, do anything. Can you tell that I just love you guys? P.S., You can’t do too much food. 😊
Hi Jacqueline
Carlo here, I certainly noticed a lot of enthusiasm in this comment, it is always nice and pleasant to have compliments, we thank you very much for this, and also thank you for watching our videos so assiduously, we wish you a fantastic and wonderful 2025!💕😘👋
Happy New Year everyone, everywhere! 🤗
ALWAYS, ALWAYS ALWAYS LOVE when your back in Positano. Even going shopping with you is a treat. Positano is just such a lovely place!!

(Texas, 🇨🇱)
Positano is exquisite: the views, colors, foliage !❤
It's so extremely lovely and relaxing to watch your channel. I live in America. I've been to Italy twice and absolutely love it! It's so interesting to see what life is like in Positano and Tuscany. You and your husband are both very charming. Keep posting and God bless.
Wish we could get back to shopping in individual shops rather than impersonal supermarkets where it’s rare to see a smile on the faces of customers and also the people who work there. Good to see you back in Positano and interesting to learn about the differences between Positano and Tuscany.
Thank you for sharing your life with us. I'm an italian American and this brings me so much joy to see where my ancestors came from. ❤
Oh goodness! No chocolate in the summer! That is a little detail I would not have considered. It makes perfect sense why chocolate is a seasonal item. I love learning about these small things!
That was so much fun! I loved seeing what real life is like for Positano locals. Thanks for taking us along! Happy New Year to all!
I can imagine how toned your derrier and legs are with all those steps. I did the paths of God walk in 2023 and walking down 1200 steps was brutal 2 days later. Happy new year 🎉❤
It sounds crazy if you've never done it, but downhill hikes can be just as hard as uphill!
Just watching you on those steps makes me breathless…..time to live on the level.
Yes! More shopping videos please. When hubby & I go to foreign countries, we pass up the museums and spend time in the different food and mercantile stores...way more interesting to us. Some are HUGE like a 7 story Corte Inglese in Barcelona and others are a little table in Bora Bora where you pick up a few mangos & grapefruit, then just leave the $$ in a small basket on the honor system. By the way, hubby's grandmother was the cleaning woman in the Positano church with huge domed roof. Lisa in San Diego
You’re baaaaaaaack!!!!!! In Positano, hoorayyyyyyyy!!!!!!🎉
Growing a lot of your own food sure is a help in Positano. Shopping sure is a challenge and maybe a full days event. I am a one stop shopper if possible.
I loved this video. I love you and your family, as well. I feel so at home when I watch your videos. I have mentioned many times that my family originates from Caserta. When I hear Neapolitan spoken, it makes me so happy. Fortunately, my cousins and I frequently speak to each other in the dialect. In closing, Buon Anno.
Fun watching the shopping!! ☀️
I am now sitting in my house in Palo Alto after 10 days in Tuscany. I am already feeling withdrawal syndrome. In Tuscany, I have many good and close friends plus in my hometown there Castelnuovo berardenga I have my refuge at the bar centrale. I always would spend at least an hour there and I had a special table where I set up my iPad in the corner and had my cappuccino and brioche. There is a wonderful family there with Sylvia and Gianluca. There is nowhere in the world is good.
I totally agree that it is so much nicer to shop in small, family owned shops. In the US , when I was a young girl it was all about small business and a huge and flourishing middle class. In fact that is what made America great and fostered a warm thriving community.
Happy New Year, lovely people xx
I love seeing your life in both places. I enjoy every vlog!
So informative. Thanks so much. Those steps will keep you in shape!
I always enjoy shopping with you.❤
Have a fabulous New Year!!!! 💙💙💙🙏🏻🌎☮️🕊
Love this video! Those were my go to stores when I visited in Positano for the past 11 years. Sadly, I will not be returning but I can visit virtually with you and Carlo!
I enjoyed seeing how you go shopping in Positano.
Happiest of New Years lovelies ❤❤
I love when Carlo speaks Italian because I’m an Italian language learner and that’s the reason why I’m watching your videos. 😊
I really enjoyed this. Thank you for taking us shopping
I so love and appreciate these types of videos of which we get a peak at all the amazing stores, thank you !!!
Thank you for allowing me to see the beatiful sights of Itally. I would never be able to see Itally without your channel.
love that groceryshop...big family❤❤❤
I get excited seeing the Australian Fauna bag still in use from our visit in 2019. I love love loved my visit with you and make-up tutorial. I can relive it each day and walk those same steps again and again. Thanks for making my holiday last for years.
Thank you for taking us with you !!! Very interesting ❤❤😊
you cater to my adventurous side and I thank you for that immensely. Happy New Year.
Happy New Year!🎩🥂
Ciao ! Everywhere!❤💋
Happy New year.. I'm sure you soak in all the social time when shopping because I would imagine having so many stairs it makes it easy to feel isolated sometimes. With the stairs everything must feel so much further away. Thanks for the video.
I love watching any food/shopping videos; just about all of your activities with Carlo, especially those that deal with the house reno ideas/where to shop. Thanks!
I'm here for the small town visiting...love it
I understand all the reasons why you live in Tuscany now and I respect that. I used to watch you all the time but now only drop in from time to time when you return to Positano. Living in a state that is almost all mountains, it is so interesting to see how Italians make such good use of steep areas we would not try.
Thanks for taking us shopping with you! I think a hiking back pack would be a more comfortable option for carrying all the shopping. At least it protects your back and shoulders and frees up your hands to carry additional small items.
I loved this video! (Of course, I love all your videos.) I love to see how people live in other places.
Happy New Year to you and the family, Love to all 😍🎉🎆
My daughter bought me some tuna in a jar from an Italian shop in Wimbledon village, I couldn’t believe how different it was from tinned tuns, it was so delicious.
Fantastic Nikki! I loved this one!!
Nice to see you in Positano. I hope you had a beautiful Christmas celebration with your Dad there and with Skye and your friends. Happy New Year to each of you and your entire families and friends from Canada. Ciao everywhere :)😊❤
We stayed in the Airbnb right above that bar. The owner Antonello is a friend of yours! He was a great guy and the apartment was beautiful ❤
Wishing you a Happy & Healthy New Year! Blessings to you All. 🥳🙏
What a refreshing and beautiful video. You guys rock!!❤
Hi Nicki and Carlo! Love the shopping vlogs (and all of your vlogs really). What would be cool as a suggestion, is to add prices and price conversion to USD so we can see how different shopping might be for each item you pick up or show.
Happy New Year! 🎉
Love your videos! More Carlo!
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you, Nicki, Carlo & family! Though I love watching your life in Tuscany, I've also missed your Positano life, thank you for sharing that Positano hiking/shopping trip! Cheers to a peaceful, love-filled New Year for all! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Happy New year to all of you. HUGS
Happy New Year to you both...it certainly not for the faint hearted shopping in Positiano...those stairs are not for the.faint hearted i had quite forgotten xxx
Happy New Year! I just realized that you have such a delicious problem of loving each of your communities but for different reasons. The charm of the Positano shops cannot erase the fact, for me, of all those steps to be taken up and down. It's too bad that one of your neighbors doesn't have their own donkey you could borrow on shop days...lol. I feel for both of you when you have to stop and regain your breath on the way up the steps. But those are the trade offs you're willing to take and we're just along for the viewing ride!
Like shopping in the old days before supermarkets. Very enjoyable the old days ❤❤❤
A treat! You are back in Positano. I honestly love seeing you going back and forth. ❤❤❤❤
The other side of paradise: Slow life in a small town. Enjoy the walk, good workout to make you slim and healthy. Cheers. ❤❤
Always enjoy the culture ❤️
Ciao Nicki & Carlo! 😄🥂❤
Auguro a entrambi un Anno Nuovo molto felice e sano!
Always brings a big 😄smile to our faces when a new post arrives, for both of your channels!
