I had this book and record as a kid. I used to be in awe of the artwork, and read it constantly. Glad to see it still is holding up. Thanks for posting this.
I just met him at the Michigan ComicCon and spoke to him for awhile. He was pretty interesting and had some criticism for how WB/DC is handling the DC Movies. I had him sign my Detective #400 (1st Man-Bat). Yes, he was a class act indeed.
Thanks for posting! I had this record as a child, and now that I'm grown up with a lifetime of love for old time radio, I know just how well-produced these adventures were.
I also had this as a kid along with an Incredible Hulk 45, a Spiderman one and the bigger Batman record book Gorilla City. This record freaked me out though....the narration is like classic radio. Love it.
I also had this as a kid. I expected it to be super - corny as a 46 year-old adult, but I see now the art was actually extremely good and the voice-acting was excellent!
@@Ian-hj4yt No, not all comics in the 1970s were for kids, e.g., Warren Publishing, Skywald, Marvel black-and-white titles, "Heavy Metal" and its many copycats, plus dozens of underground titles. Try again. I can tell you've never read anything from that era.
@@Ian-hj4yt I'd say the better Batman titles from that era were such that an older reader could probably read them and enjoy them as well as the customary kid audience, e.g., the Neal Adams issues or the Marshall Rogers run.
@@julianhermanubis6800 That was the point. Those comics feel like a sequel to the Adam West series but with a slightly darker tone. The same old lighthearted Batman facing scarier villains without Robin.
Wow my mom bought this for me when I was 8 years old in the 70's
Thank you!!
Miss you mom 🥺
this scared the hell out of me growing up lol....thank you so much for this!! very cool.
Me too.
Never had this record, but I remember the Manbat episode from Batman:TAS. Thanks for sharing!

Neil Adams is a class artist.

Took me years to get them all, but this was the first one I ever got... Easter '77
I had this record as a kid in the late 70s. It always scared me. I need to go buy this.
Same, and thus my fondness for DC and Marvel lore was born...

Totally scared me as a late 70s kid.

I can't tell you the memories this brings back. I need to re-release these on album or CD

This one scared the crap outta me when I was little. I couldn't handle the bat screams. I listened to it once and that was it for me. lol
I had this, but it's been lost over the years. I DO still have the one with the Joker, Stacked Cards. Love it!
memories....wow
As soon as I heard the clicking noises at the beginning of this story, I was taken right back to the 1970s. Wow.
This art still holds up by today's standards
jeff bird Today's standards are far below the standards of this era.
I had this as a kid! It was kind of scary but it was still a great story!
I just found a few of these comics without records. Thank you for posting these.
That’s more plot than you get in most movies nowadays.
Better than "Batman vs. Superman"
Oooowww! Let go, you beast! You’re tearing my throat!
ah. now this is what Im talking about :D. Thanks for posting this Hex. I just loved it.
I also had this as a kid. I expected it to be super - corny as a 46 year-old adult, but I see now the art was actually extremely good and the voice-acting was excellent!
Is there anything that tells you who voices the characters/credits?
These are great!
i had this in 84
Great stuff!
Hey what are we running here ? A debate ? Let's plug emmm hahahaha
wow Hex, thanks for giving a means not to do my term paper lol. Keep these coming
Neal Adams died a couple of days ago.
ugh, this shit fucked me up as a kid
I like Batman's voice! Batman nowadays sounds like a chain smoker
Longshoreman X Unless it's Kevin Conroy ;)
Robin should have used the sneezing powder on the woman again when she turned back to human.
Lit
Why's Manbat wearing a Dracula cape instead of a lab coat
Does anyone know who voiced Batman on this?
dessins du maitre neal adams, batman prend une nouvelle dimenssion .
thnx
It's insane that Neal Adams's amazing art was used to illustrate what was a cheap kids' throwaway record.
What do you mean? The 70s comics were still for kids, just not as campy as the last 2 decades
