Love these tips! Something I’ve been implementing is: act like your child doesn’t exist when they’re content in an activity. Let me explain! When my toddler would be independently playing, I was guilty of interrupting, complimenting, etc. I noticed that when I’d do this, he’d become uninterested in the activity. Maybe this is common sense but now I keep my mouth shut and try not to look at him and his independent play time lasts way longer!
Same here. I've noticed that if I let him play on his own while I'm cooking dinner then he's content for a while, but if I butt in it's game over and he's hugging my leg in the kitchen haha.
My favourite hack with my 19 month old - if we need to leave the park, or turn off a show, I will give plenty of warning (We will be saying bye-bye to the park in two minutes) and then once we have to leave I say "Let's say bye-bye to the park!!" and then I will wave to the park and say bye, he will eventually also say it, and for some reason it makes the transition so smooth! Maybe because it's like he has ownership in the process, he is deciding to say bye and he knows what it means.
you got out of the hardest part of the situation already. you got the rest of this 100%. your attitude in situations like this inspire me to push through my struggles and handle it patiently and calmly. i’m rooting for you ❤
I let my toddler cook with me 😅 I let her stir hot pots, wash stuff, hand me things, taste ingredients and seasonings, and she really loves it, and understands what "hot", "cold, "sharp", "spicy" "sour", "dirty" and many more things mean, knows how to peel clementines, egg, open a bunch of things, put things in the trash etc.😊 She's VERY independent, but prefers to include me when she plays, as I include her 😅 Also, she ynderstands when the house is messy, and points to the floor and says "eew!" 😆
Question How old is your toddler I never was comfortable with having any of my children cook with me until at least age four or five.....I always considered it dangerous and that they really didn't understand the concept of such dangerous equipment until around that age it's a wonderful thing to include your little one in these everyday things and if your Toddler understands that's great 👍
Okay, I’m saving this video. This has so many golden tips I’ve never heard and never would have thought of in a million years. Thank you so much for making it!!
Have you ever thought about going to school for this? You seem really interested in learning and are incredibly knowledgeable without being biased… great video 🤍
I don’t have any children yet, but I absolutely adore these videos! My sister gentle parents her two boys and I’m always using tips from your videos around her boys when I’m looking after them.
Adding veggies: if your child is eating tomato sauce, add shirred carrots, zucchini, eggplant, etc (what ever veggie you want) or puree it after cooking. My girls eat a lot of veggies this way and they love it.
this is my tip thats been working like a charm with my sick toddler who usually hates medicine! I ask her if she wants her bubblegum juice (tylenol) and i use the Dr. Browns pacifier dosage thing and just hand it to her and she sucks it right down!
Currently have a 15 month old daughter and this video was so helpful. ❤️ My daughter loves turning off the lights when we leave a room. A nice little “chore”/habit that will hopefully save me a little money in the future when she’s older 😂
Great Tips. 100% agree on the smaller Santa gifts. We've done this from a young age.. also to get the kids to choose what toys to "donate" to kids who are less fortunate and you put them under the tree for Santa to take away :)
When I started watching your clog I was happily married and pregnant for the first time. Today I thought it your vlog, I’m a single mom with a 14 m old girl and I think your positivity is going to help me
Babe, you are doing such a good job with Arrow! It’s all a learning curve! I have four babies into school-agers and pre-teens. I am ALSO A SINGLE MOM but I have four tiny humans. I’m so proud of you baby! You are awesome Britt! Loves ❤️ ♥️
Hello!! What a great video, I have to try the whisper method. Sounds awesome.! Our favorite trick, always make a song for the thing your toddler hates, washing hands, changing diaper. They will sing while you do it :)
In terms of chores and stuff my 2.3yo son puts his leftover food in the bin and then sticks his plate in the sink. He likes to take the bins out with me. He puts clothes in or out of the washing machine (front loader). He likes to try and hang the pegs on clothes airer. The bottom level is close to him. He hands me pegs or I hand then to him and he will put them in the basket. He also puts his nappies in the bin. He gets the box of wipes and the change mat when I ask him. He helps me hang towels up after the shower. Toddlers love helping.
There's a say Talk to your kids as if they'd be your guests haha. My 2 years old speaks so polished and she's so freaking polite because of this that we get a LOT of compliments. Also and related that modeling modeling and modeling is everything in toddler parenting. My daughter is literally does and say every single thing after me, If you ever want them to do something just model it...
One of my earliest memories is of my mom's way of having my wait for an after dinner snack or dessert. She would tell me I had to wait for my dinner to be at my toes. So when I would get impatient she would poke my legs and tell me it was almost time. Lol I think I was about 4 yrs old and it worked like a charm.
To back you up on tip #10, I definitely “believed” in Santa for longer than I truly did because I realized I could ask this “magical” guy for ANYTHING. I would even say to my parents, “Well I’ll ask Santa for that one” thinking I was doing them a solid LMAO. But also love that tip for equality purposes. Great video and info, thank you!!
So glad you made this video!! Right now, we’ve noticed that if we Only say options of different foods, she will say no to Everything 🙄🤦🏽♀️ But if we show her the foods, name each one & let her decide, she will pick it out. We’re trying to also teach the grandparents to do the same and hopefully it works. We worry when she doesn’t eat much 😣
This video was so great my daughter is turning 2 on December and this video was so helpful she has become a picky eater and is also at the stage where when she gets upset throws things and yells so having this video was so helpful.
I loved this video so much I started watching just before pregnant with arrow and I now have a 1yo, all the help I've received from this channel over my own pregnancy and parenting journey. I'm going to use ALL of these tips going forward!! 💯 Thankyou so much! ❤️🤍
Yummy Toddler Food is a great blog/IG account with lots of great recipes, my toddler's fave is the meatballs with hidden veggies. Also the Feeding Littles cookbook.
Love these, it sounds complicated about the teaching moments and the calming moments but you definitely feel them in the moment! My kids also loooove putting things in the bin and putting their dishes in the sink! We’re ✨all✨ trying to get better at cleaning up after ourselves 😂
Can’t wait to try the run walk stop song, thank you! I’m going to try “juice” smoothies again, thank you for this recipe! I need to find a good straw cup for them. My daughter is super picky, she really only wants pasta for lunch and dinner! Love you videos thank you!
absolutely love videos like these because i am currently going THROUGH IT with my toddler. i think we have hit the 2 year sleep regression early as well 😪
Hi @Brittanybalyn - I really like your approach to letting Arrow choose her clothes. At what age did this start working? I try with my 17 month old and he doesn't really get it or seem to care...
Hey brit Question where did you get arrows bed I absolutely love this bed.....I looked on Amazon but couldn't find anything compared to this actual bed...... Happy Holidays and much love coming from New York
My Toddler is obsessed with "Juice". I've been offering her coconut water or diluted juice/Pedialyte ... dude call anything juice and they're all in... not sure why. Ahhahaha
After hearing this santa idea a while I back I thought maybe santa would just fill stockings in our home and any gifts that are there are from mom and dad. Thanks for another great video, my babe is 16 months so I look forward to all your tips and tricks
Happy Monday! Share what YOUR favorite hacks/tips/tricks are in the comments

Omg yes I'm working on that. I have the urge to just butt in.
Yes I do this too! I still feel guilty see her play alone - even though I know that is healthy behavior! ❤
Smart!
Same. I noticed that with eating too.

I tried the whisper thing as soon as you said it... it worked 🤯 mind blown.
I don’t have any children yet, but I absolutely adore these videos! My sister gentle parents her two boys and I’m always using tips from your videos around her boys when I’m looking after them.

100% on smoothies calling them juice. We do spinach, blueberry, banana and call it green juice and my son loves it!

Great tips Brittany!! Thank you so much ❤
Low key was expecting a grandmas house vlog! Love the visual timer tip, we’re gonna try it for teeth brushing!
Oooo for brushing teeth, I also “brush her dolls teeth first” (and compliment the doll) and then she’s more interested!
Hey brit Question where did you get arrows bed I absolutely love this bed.....I looked on Amazon but couldn't find anything compared to this actual bed...... Happy Holidays and much love coming from New York
Loved the tips and links! Such great video ❤
Number 3 needs to be a whole video please lol 😂
Make EVERYTHING into a song! It works like a charm. We had a silly song for every mundane task. Much better than just boring talking ;)
Love these! They're so awesome
Yay ❤❤❤
Where do i find the running walking song? That sounds helpful 🙂
AMEN to SO many things in this video
When I was a kid Santa always brought us a Christmas stuffed animal. I plan on doing the same with my daughters
Wow! Thank you so so much!!! ♥️♥️♥️
Love that you give her options!! At what age did you start giving her choices? I’ve tried and my son doesn’t quite get it yet
Where did the wall rainbow in Arrow’s room come from? Been looking for one for my little girls room.
I think she has a video where she puts it up with her mom. The details are in the description of that video. Maybe 3 months ago?
So helpful, as always! ❤ty!!
I'm not even a mom and I still love this content 😂
Where did you get her "A" letter pillow?
Thank you brittany
Thank you xxx
How are you so good at this? 😩 I lose patience so easily. 😢
Can anybody please tell me where I can purchase a bed like the one in this video?
Her bed is from cocovillage!
@@brittanybalyn thank you!!! ❤
What age did you introduce this bed, and how did you teach her to sleep under the covers all night or do you use sleep sacks?
I really really wanted to lose weight but then I saw a cake, the cake saw me too and the cake disappeared
😩😩
Wait what?? Eat the cake!
❤❤❤❤
My Toddler is obsessed with "Juice". I've been offering her coconut water or diluted juice/Pedialyte ... dude call anything juice and they're all in... not sure why. Ahhahaha
Hahaha juice is the secret passcode
My 11 month old doesn’t like the play version of things… she only wants the adult version lol 😅
If I offer my son quesadillas he’s like 🤮
If I offer him cheese tacos 😋
After hearing this santa idea a while I back I thought maybe santa would just fill stockings in our home and any gifts that are there are from mom and dad. Thanks for another great video, my babe is 16 months so I look forward to all your tips and tricks
Muslims watching too :)
Sometimes, at certain angles, you look exactly like Nicole Richie to me.
I feel bad for her dog
Riot is loved and happy! ❤
