@JohnPaulMusicUK hey JP it's your favourite torturer !! I was wondering if you could help me with a thing ? I want to set up my memory so when I press track it goes straight from loops 1-3 directly to effects page therefore bypassing loops 456 . I basically want to use it as a three loop looper with the track select button to go directly into effects page .
@TabbyCallaghan hey there Tortur… I mean Tabby! 🤣 That’s not torture. That’s easy! The great thing is you can make ANYTHING with the RC-600 as you have 3 modes and 9 buttons per mode for each memory, giving you (technically) 27 customisable button presses - so watch this video and then grab the parameter guide and go nuts! ruclips.net/video/CyJ3VgOQAeA/видео.htmlsi=YRjPGpC2uUbikkZn
@JohnPaulMusicUK it's your favourite scourge again !! JP I was wondering if you are aware of any tempo issues with the 1.40 firmware update? I noticed when I'm using tap tempo the speed is twice as fast .. any help here would be amazing. PS I managed to create a template based off a lot of your tips and it's actually great !
Glad it helped! Hooray! 🙌 Here is the playlist to all the RC-600 videos I have made so far - ruclips.net/p/PLO36LpORUSaa9-oX7LbZ4CRRUHMiWoU0s I also have a FULL RC-600 course with over 55 unique deep dive videos in, which you can buy, spread the cost: www.johnpaulmusic.co.uk/boss-rc-600-course-page And if you want 121 consultation, I do this as well: www.johnpaulmusic.co.uk/coaching-options

Great video! I played with Midi control of the Track Volume before there was a setting page for them ..... I saved the volume changes by mistake ..... took me forever to figure out what I did and why everything was crazy ... good times, good times
My overall loop level doesn’t seem to save. In reverts to 200 if I switched to another memory and return or reboot. The individual loop levels will save. Is there a fix?
sounds like you have the the RC600 in 'per memory' mode. Go to MENU, OUTPUT, SETUP, PREFERENCE and check if you have the difference systems there like main, sub, fx etc set as system or memory. sounds like it on memory. change it to system. Then go to MENU, INPUT, SETUP, PREFERENCE and do the same. Hope that helps.
On the main output Master FX "Reverb" or "Compressor" how does one change the parameters (compression ratios, reverb room size etc.). I cannot find a way to do this in the manual or a fairly extensive internet search too!
Thanks for the info! Would one of the RC’s be suitable to run 4 backing tracks and play an instrument and sing? And, is there a decent headset mic with a transmitter and receiver that pair nicely together and work with each of the RC’s for under 4 hounded?
I made this video for Backing tracks but it depends if you just need it to be a stereo out. If so, this video is for you: ruclips.net/video/txztkFgg7wU/видео.htmlsi=Ir3KhIRWDxYYSgFq However the RC-5 only has a left and right in and not an XLR in but you could do this with an RC-500 and has an XLR mic in. 🎤 Or you could have this like a CD / MP3 / Backing track player and not plug anything into it and have a separate input into a mixer for the mic. Microphone wise, there are lots of different systems and I’m sure you’ve seen they jump up in price quite quickly. For under £400, I would look at Shure or Sennheiser because you could start off with a cheaper system and then upgrade the mic later on to a better one. The shure BLX range is their entry level wireless system and there are a few complete systems under £400. The Sennheiser XSW range is the same kind of thing but with Sennheiser. Hope this helps. 👍
Hey JP I’m currently watching one of your really old videos on how to loop and this popped up in my notifications so I thought I’d ask you here. I’ve been using the 300 now the 600 for a while but always singletrack! And I need to get to grips with multi I can program the 600 no problem- a lot of it thanks to you 👏🏻- but I’ve come across an anomaly that is mad and I can’t get my head around it. You mentioned on the vid I’m watching the in/out when split to mono I use 6 out and like you I wanted to consolidate into the 600 so use the GTr Fx and ditch the GT1 from my huge pedalboard 😞. Now the problem. When I split the outputs if I take anything off the Main out left my FX disappear from any output! I have them set to only be on for the GTR input and follow everything everyone does so settings all seem 100% correct but taking anything out of that output is like an on/off switch for the FX. So I’m left with 5 mono outs and FX or 6mono outs and no insert FX at all. Hope you can shed some light on this problem cos no one else seems to be able to. Thanks again for all the great content.
Hey! It sounds like you're hitting a routing issue with the RC-600's complex output setup. Here are a few things you can try: Check Output Routing: Make sure your FX aren’t stuck on the Main Out Left. Go into the routing settings and assign the effects to multiple outputs (including Sub Outputs) if you're using all 6 mono outs. Mono vs Stereo FX: Some effects might default to stereo, so head to the FX Edit menu and set the effects to mono to ensure they don't disappear when splitting the outputs. Master FX Chain: If your effects are routed through the master, they might be tied to the main output. Try changing their path to other outputs to keep them working. Patch Settings: Double-check your patch memory settings. Each patch can have different routing, so make sure nothing is overriding your global settings for outputs and effects. If none of these solve it, you may have stumbled on a bug since the RC-600 has a lot of routing options, and it's possible this specific setup wasn't fully tested. Definitely worth reporting to Boss if it keeps happening!
RC600 OUTPUT NIGHTMARES? If you're trying to control the output via midi - or programming master volume changes (I use an MC6PRO) You may find that each day when you come back the volume levels have changed randomly. TURN OFF THE MASTER OUTPUT KNOB - whether you touch it or not - there is obviously a bug. System>Output>Knob - Off That will hopefully see you right. make sure you test by programming one song - turning the unit off and then back on again and check there output on some meters
My unit crashed a bout a dozen times, and had been updated to v1.4, so the music store replaced it with a new one (maybe later batch,) with v 1.21, and I have not updated. Am I safe to update the firmware to 1.4?
Theres legends and then there's John Paul 🤗🤗🤗 thanks brother !!!

change your main output to stereo link?
@@EdLaughs but that removes the split to mono loosing the two outputs for separate things.

@@chuntoon1 That’s some excellent suggestions thank you. I’ll get into them as soon as I can.
wow.. they beat me to it. hahaha. what they said. 👍🏻
Can the loop volumes be controlled by an external midi mixer?
If you change the input in one patch, it changes in all patch. Cant i have different input volume for different patch.
