Nintendo probably wouldn't mind if we all forgot about these bonkers Legend of Zelda games ⚔️
Outside Xtra I found a really obscure one recently, it’s called “Breathing The Wild” or something like that
Excuuuuse me, Princess.
Hi Outside Xtra, I hope you’re doing good today
My boi! This forgetfulness is what all people strive for
I mean.... the fruit balloons ARE in twilight princess tho
"You've killed me!"
"Good!"
We have no choice but to stan.
I think Link silent cause he knows if he speaks up he'll be next
Never gets old.
*mic drop*
I can't help but think of Grumpy Cat. Just swap the faces and that's basically what it is.
10 out of 10, can't not simp
Luke: "I swear to god Tingle, if you hurt him..."
Tinglellen: *Toots menacingly*
I'd forgotten about that gem. Have to go watch that stream again.😂
Which of their ACNH streams was that?

"Tingle-centric dating simulator, heavily themed around the wizard of Oz." The fact that sentence is clearly going to be today's high water mark is a sign of our deeply troubled times...
YES! They put in the line that literally caused me to hurt myself from laughing so hard.
"You killlled me!"
"Good!"
"Now THAT's my kinda wom-man!" - Animal, the Muppet Show.
There is one Zelda game that Nintendo never wanted you to talk about: Doom
When they talked about the Wee Zapper. An automatic crossbow from the future? Sounds like an origin story of how Link became Doom Guy.
I kept expecting Luke to break in and say something about it.
Ah, always nice to meet a fellow scholar.
@@Czah5 I wish they'd do more theories tbh...it was one of my favorite videos on the channel
No, the Zelda game that Nintendo doesn't want you to talk about is Bloodborne
@@hiddenshadow2105 Imposter Iosefka is Princess Zelda; that's why her name is never revealed.
The fruit balloons are from Twilight Princess, from the flying stage (talk to the parrot as a wolf at the bottom of Lake Hylia).
I thought I did in fact remember those fruit balloons.
I was going to post this comment, but you beat me to it.
Weren't they also in the river rafting mini game?
@@glitchkrieg768 nope, those were giant clay goards.
@@missingLEGACY Ahh, yeah, you're right. Damn it's been too long since I played.
Phillips CD-i : fully animated cutscenes!
Literally everyone else in the world: no that's too much animation, less animated please
"Un-animate it, please for the love of god un-animate it before those things break into our reality!"
Things that look good animated:
-Golems.-
-Flesh.-
-Zelda games.-
As a loud and proud animation fan, I wholeheartedly agree as well.
The "Excuuuse me, Princess!" line was inevitable to be included and it was done perfectly. I wouldn't have minded it a few more times even.
googles: "Terminator Link"
Luke: "did you mean Doom Guy Link?"
Every time I hear the Wand of Gamelon's map music, I think of Game Grumps and the song they made up to match the beat. xD
burned into our minds forever
@@avesrex Can never unhear it.
I *KNEW* it wouldn't just be me!
I can never unhear it either.
@@PapaKennMedia It INSTANTLY popped into my head! XD
The existence of the Tingle games is an interesting case of cultural difference because Tingle was super popular in Japan, while in the west he's pretty universally hated, hence all of his games being Japan only
Makes sense. I don't get why people like Tingle, but alright. He's not the worst Zelda character, but he's definitely annoying. But I wouldn't mind playing Tingle's Rosy Rupee Land, kind of like a Wario Land game.
I played a European version of Rosy Rupeeland
Fortunately, all of these games are considered "Non-GANON." XD
13:55 - You missed a "Gor-oin" pun there.
* savours moment, clears throat *
...BOOOOO! 😂😂😂
@@nunyobidniz No, no. He's got a point, since Ganon is mostly absent from these games.
"YOU KILLED ME!"
"Good."
*Hears the Game Grumps laughing in the distance*
I think this is the first time I've seen gameplay from the Phillips CDI games, not just the horror cutscenes
2:28 And if you happen to be deaf so are unfortunate enough to miss this brilliant dialogue, don’t worry as the king is fluent in sign language
Is it real sign language? This would be really awesome^^
I noticed that too, and was wondering about it. Maybe one of the animators is deaf and worked it in without really thinking about it, since it doesn't seem to happen in all the scenes.
'Ripened Tingle's Balloon' sounds like a euphemism for something unspeakable.
Huh, so that's what made Link a silent protagonist!
@Every Spiegel Link was quite the proficient singer before that fateful day. He's narry uttered a single word since.
That entire segment on the Tingle game made me feel dirty and sad.
Never talk about, look at or touch the Tingle segment.
Time for some brainwashing
IDK, personally that game looks really....charming and fun. Weird as hell, but a good time.
Thank you for this bit of delving into the lore of zelda, I love hearing about weird games no one else wants to!
Edit: 2:55
"you've killed MEEEE!"

Well, guess we know where Prudence got her inspiration
Wait wait wait... what if CD-I Zelda is Prudence's mother!? **dramatic shocked face**
@@PapaKennMedia 😲
Ahhh, Zelda the wand of gamalon... has amazing game villains such as Ganon
Ganon: "Oh Link! It's great to see you again! ...You must die."
And OST at the top of the charts with songs like...
"Looks like you've got a baby pen15~"
Legit started hearing Dan's voice singing that in my head when OX praised the world map theme.
@@NeutralDrow Totally! Once you hear Dan's version, you can never hear the normal one haha xD.
"Lucky shot." "Golly!"
"Don't MS Paint me out!"
Also, for some reason I didn't think of the song until Luke played it at the end:
*in my head*: "🎵 Looks like you have a baby- 🎵 OH!!! Oh, right, THAT must be the song the comments keep vaguely alluding to! Why couldn't I remember it when the matching video was on screen?"
I can't hear the cd-i overmap theme without the Game Grumps lyrics creeping into mind
Same here.
Im glad im not the only one 😁
14:11 You don't remember hanging from a kargarok trying to pop the same fruit balloons in order to keep your multiplier? I do...
I haven't watched it fully yet but I'm getting crossbow vibes
I didn't know it was called a kargarok, I always just called it a twilight vulture. Loved twilight princess though, so was surprised by his who remembers comment.
Since Luke brought it up, I'd like to see a video about awful games with good soundtracks. It'll be fun, you can put all of the 3d sonic games on it.
Great idea!😄👍
Ooh that is a good one!
Silver Surfer for NES would be a prime candidate.
*all* of the 3D Sonic games? That's a tall order, mate.
@@TornaitSuperBird Adventure Battle and Adventure Battle 2 weren't too bad (I enjoyed them when I was… 7 and 11, at least) but everything else? Yeah, yeah fair point.
3:38 and Luke was never seen or heard from again.
6:29 Luke: "I'm still here."
Yep, never seen again...
Only heard of :P
I’m not allowed to forget about the CD-i Zeldas since Arin and Dan played them on Game Grumps.
I had a barcode battler growing up and loved if I remember rightly the strongest fighter I found from it was a barcode of a tin of baked beans!
I think mine was from a jar of Cheese Whiz.
Beans? A fitting food that... They are the greatest food in history.
Beans beans the magical fruit
The more you eat the more you toot
I love Link’s Crossbow Training, me and my sister used to fight all the time to have the high scores in each level. Good times.
But... Isn't "Terminator Zelda" just Doom?
Further evidence that Doom Guy is Link!
Haven't heard that Zelda CD-I music in a while. "Looks like you've gotta a ba-by pe-nis!"
Wand of Gamelon, Part 4.
brave of you to actually write out the lyrics in the comments
14:47- we got a terminator style zelda game- it's called DOOM
Yes i am a subscriber to that theory too
I'm not convinced.
Link "I just wonder what Ganon is up to?". Was waiting for " He's sooo cool!"
5:30 That is an absolutely fascinating way of "distributing" a game, even if in hindsight, it's weird and unintuitive.
Wait, did Ellen just flex on us with Nookmiles? Savage
Oh my gosh I thought i only dreamed that Barcode Battler existed. It was a rather controversial debate between my friends the other day lol
I purchased the Picross one, remember grinding in that weird Mii mobile game (that was discontinued very soon again) for platinum points for a few days just to download it. But I just love Picross and anything to play more Picross (for free) is fine to me - and honestly the game itself was decent if a bit short (still have it on my 3DS by the way)
"BS standing for Broadcast Satellite before you get any ideas"
Too late Ellen... Too late xD
Thanks for sneaking a „EXCUUUUUUUSE MEEEEE, PRINCESS!“ into the video.
Still, the barcode feature got me excited to scan everything I bought
The only one of these I played was Link Crossbow Training. Clearly, that was for the best.
Link with a full-auto crossbow kind of reminds me of the scene in Midnight Kiss where Dorothy lowers the used rocket launcher and says: "Screw the shotgun. Find me more of these."
Legend of Zelda: Monoply?
LoZ: Picross?
Hope we'll see these games that were integral to the LoZ canonical timeline
OMG, Oxtra plz no, I was joking
*inserts link to Polygon's zelda timeline Unraveled*
@@mikaroni_and_cheez lmao yeah, that's where I learnt most of these titles
I’m pretty sure that there’s a theory that they appear in a fourth timeline including Smash and MK8, that for some reason ends with BoTW
*JOKE theory obviously
14:11 The fruit balloons are from Twilight princess. Their is a moment where you have to fly a horrible shadow bird while link is in dog form to get to the Zorra domain. Once you finally get there you can try it again and collect these fruit balloons along the way for point
Fruit Balloon was something from Twilight Princess. It was a bonus challenge after restoring Lake Hylia and unlocking the ability to turn into wolf whenever you want. Getting a high enough score got you a piece of heart
Those rippin' tunes from the CD-i games would have been right at home in Surgeon Simulator.
The Satellaview was an interesting concept tbf
Link in a time warp? Doom Guy confirmed!
"Tingle teams up with a lion..."
...A witch and a wardrobe?
The "will zapper" pun had me dying. But all these ad breaks are killing me.
RUclips Vanced or an adblocker will fix that right quick.
Link's Crossbow Training was the best use of the Wii Zapper and one of my favorite games growing up, I will fight people on that
"The Love Push"... Oh my good god all mighty!!!
To quote Brian David Gilbert:
"ZELDA MONOPOLY!!!"
I saved the Zelda Timeline with Monopoly!
Reggie, TAKE FUCKING NOTES!
I don't know why... but the "Wee Zapper" joke really got me 😂
The Zelda's Adventure discord will never forget. I promise you..
Wow, I'd forgotten all about the Bardcode Battler. It was actually quite fun, in a Pokemon meets Tamagotchi sort of a way.
There was something like it in America, I believe called "Scannerz" or something like that.
"Mah Boi!"
You killed meeeeeeeee.
@@christainbowitz535 *Good!*
I havent watched it yet, but my money is on the Zelda CD-I games with creepy Link.
I called it! Literally first pick.
Immediately after you brought up the Terminator Link thing, I got an ad for a tank game with a bunch of explosions on the Switch. I guess it was like “oh, you want an action game on a Nintendo system, do you?”
Never before have I realised I needed something until I hear the words “Terminator Zelda”
"Come with me if you want to YAAAAH!"
"HYAAAHsta la vista, baby!"
"I now know why you GYARRRGGGHHH but it is something I can never do."
Just play DOOM. Doom guy is Link.
Luke would have to go and single out the map music from Wand Of Gamelon... dang it, all of my Game Grumps memories of this song have come flooding back. 🎵 Looks like you have a ba-by pe-nis... Looks like you have a BA-by PE-nis! 🎵
(Please forgive me, anyone who watches GG and didn't have that stuck in your head until now)
I hardly knew any of these and now thanks to outside xtra I can never forget them.... ever...
OMG, that "Good!" from Zelda was perfect! XD
We do not speak of the CD-I games. Just like we pretend Metroid: Other M never happened.
sorry i just said about the CD-i games and i loved the gameplay of Other M but the story was disgusting
"There is no CD-I zelda games in ba sing se"
What's other m?
A Metroid game about Samus’s past with the Galactic Federation.
The first rule of other m is you don't talk about other m
The fruit ballon were from a MIni game in Twilight Princess.
3:30 Game Grumps intensifies
I still believe that Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland
is one of the best Zelda games.
And I also really enjoyed Link's Crossbow Training.
completely agree tingle can be horrifying in some of the LoZ games but Tingles Rosy Rupeeland was charming had some great puzzles and an amazing final boss fight
and the crossbow training was just a great game to play it was fun, chill and tbh considering it was a wii game quite responsive and accurate (maybe not as a crossbow training simulator for those taking the game title more literal)
I loved the crossbow training.
2:55 I can‘t help it but I only see crawling darth vader helmets as enemys
Fruit balloons were from a Twilight Princess minigame.
"The Love Push" sounds like a bad "Love Shack" parody.

Or extremely dubcon
Half of my conversations in my freshman year of high school included a Zelda CDi quote. I’m fact, we had to make little posters about ourselves to hang in the English classroom, and my “Last heard saying” quote was “I wonder what’s for dinner.” 😆
Also, it’s time to bring “mah boi” back. ☝️
Fujitsu project delivery meeting: "Well, we've blown 94% of our budget on the background music composer. How are we ever going to get these cutscenes animated?" (from the back of a room behind a literal pile of cocaine) "I've been known to doodle on napkins..."
7:49 That is one of the most disturbing things I've seen in a non-horror game
2:59 my favorite part... Always has been.
3:38 Grab the legs! Might a spoke true... too true
We come for the puns. We stay for the soul-rending horror of whatever Ripened Tingle's Balloon Trip Of Love is supposed to be.
For some weird reason I have aways wanted to listen to Luke talking about the Zelda CD-i games. I'm pleased this day have finally come!
Fruit balloon. That was a gimmick in Twilight Princess for one of the minigames. You turn into a wolf, talk to a bird at Lake Hylia and get scooped up by a large bird that flies you through a cave filled with balloons of various fruits that are worth different amounts of points. Chaining gets you more points and in the end if you do well enough you got a piece of heart plus a free ride to the canoe and fishing minigame locations on the Zora River.
3:00 That laugh animation will haunt my dreams forever
My Father bought me Wand of Gamelon for Christmas. After we played for about 2 hours, he went to the garage and killed himself with a Shotgun. :)
Now I want to see a battle between Tingle-Ellen and Imp-Luke.
"Tingle-Ellen looks pretty swell an' she thinks battler, which would make me a tattler, but she'll never beat me, fiddle dee hee!"
The "fruit balloon" comes from Twilight Princess's Plumm minigame in Lake Hylia, where you have to fly a Kargarok in Wolf Link form up through the narrow passage.
"Link's preferred method of fighting" Link has a preferred method of fighting?

@@drackar I'd say that's more of a part of his arsenal, rather than a fighting style
I actually think those fruit balloons are from a shooting gallery mini game in Twilight Princess, so it makes sense lol
The fruit balloon was in a main game actually. In Twilight Princess, there was a mini game in Lake Hylia where a bird monster carries wolf Link up Zora River all the way to the entrance to Zora’s domain (The same path you take to go to Zora’s domain when the land is shrouded in Twilight). In the mini game, there are several fruit balloons you have to fly through and pop for points.
Link's Crossbow Training was fun and shouldn't be forgotten. xD
Those zelda cdi cutscenes... The era of mid 2010's youtube poops are flooding back to me lol
great video topic today and I learned there where more than just the CDi one
0:50 in nintendo's defence, that title is great.
The faces of evil SURE ARE PRESENT!
I've been too aware of the CD-i games for years now, and somehow this was my first time seeing footage of the third. Thanks?
What's up with Tingle? He looks like he might have some...symptoms. I think he should isolate and quarantine indefinitely.
I actually love Picross and own the Legend of Zelda Picross game. I thought it was a lot of fun lol.
I could never really see what the pictures were supposed to be, even after they told me.
Gods, I wish I could erase the memory of ever learning about the Philips games. The question of how something like that even got a pass, or how someone even came up with this stuff in the first place, only makes your brain explode.
Gotta say, the CD-i cutscenes (minus Zelda's Adventure, which I think really fits more the title that Wand of Gamelon was given), are some of the most enjoyable ones I've seen.
Listen, the Tingle games are really good- in a Chulip kind of good. Also, the fruit balloons were from a minigame in Twilight Princess where you would fly through the canyon between Lake Hylia and Zora's Domain, popping balloons and racking up a combo.
As a Hardcore Zelda Fan, I agree the music does, indeed, slap.
And the fruit balloons are from Twilight Princess, from the minigame where you have to fly through the tunnel as a wolf carried by a Kargarok.
I quite liked Link's Crossbow Training, although it really was painfully short, even with my shoddy aiming
I liked Link’s Cross Bow Training. (Good game to play when you didn’t feel like playing actual game but wanted to blow something up) The fruit balloons in that game, like everything else, is actually in Twilight Princess. If you go to Lake Hylia after purging it from the twilight and gaining the ability to turn into a wolf at will, go to the waterfall that leads to the Zora people. On a bit of land will be some hawk grass that if link howls the tune, will summon a bird that will offer an opportunity to play a minigame. The minigame consists of wolf link being carried by a big kargorak that you pilot up zora’s river popping fruit balloons of various size and point worth in order to meet the required amount of points to win a piece of heart or orange rupee(100).

Game: *shows Tingle in his underwear*
Me: MY EEEEEEYYYYEEEES!!!
The fruit balloons were from Twilight Princess's river riding mini game.
I played hours upon hours of Links: Xbow training with a 3rd party Wii Xbow controller. That game was short but so satisfying.
I wasn't aware Merlin was in Zelda games. Good on him for managing to time travel back to sneak in there. Also, was expecting the 'Excuse Me Princess' line from the second I saw those cutscenes and thought maybe the cartoon was a fever dream and I just somehow mistook it for those cutscenes...I was wrong.
