my appendix ruptured in early 2023, it was horrible. one day i was eating pizza and suddenly i had the worst stomach aches ive ever had. a day later i went to a clinic and they said they were suspecting appendicitis so they sent me to urgent care, but in urgent care the doctors said i was fine. after that i had the worst 2 days of my life. vomit, nausea, not being able to walk etc. after that we went to urgent care again (in a wheelchair because i couldnt walk and finally the doctors saw my ruptured appendix. they took me to a room and prepared the emergency surgery. after the surgery i felt better but i still had to stay in the hospital for a month straight because they fed me antibiotics and i had a strict diet of only liquids (for 2 weeks ish) so that my bowels started moving again.

My mum actually had her appendix ruptured and the doctors removed it before it exploded and I’m actually still kind off relived that she survived it

If you went previously for abdominal pain and they sent you home and then it ruptured after then you are likely owed some compensation. Lucky for me I went the day the pains started because my father had the exact same thing so he didn't waste much time only like a day or two. I had a gut feeling as well literally😂
Regardless after the ultrasound it was removed instantly however it wasn't that far from rupturing.

I had my taken out in early July 2016. It was gangrene and I had abdominal pain on my right side. I didn’t feel liked eating dinner or even breakfast. I slept 2 hours overnight. I took another 2 hours nap in the morning. I didn’t have a fever because it was hot during the summer. I had a hard time walking because of the pain. I had surgery right away after being admitted in the hospital. I was put into the OR for 3 hours. I did woke up after the surgery in the recovery room. I didn’t know where I was after waking up. I felt a lot better after surgery but, a little bit weak, too. I was getting back my old self during those days in the hospital. I was even joking around with the nurses. My attitude was different before surgery and even after. I did have craving for real food on Friday because my stomach did growled a couple times. I had a big breakfast on Sunday morning which wasn’t a good idea to have. I did ate everything for breakfast.

I woke up with the worst pain in my navel area, nausea, loss of appetite etc. The pain never travelled to my right side though. I went to the ER and they suspected acute appendicitis. I got my appendix removed the next day and I’m 5 days post-op. The pain is gone and I’m just in recovery now 😊

Had this last year. Wasn’t fun. Especially when I had similar pain the year before which led to nothing so my parents thought it was the same thing until later that day a year later 😂 by the time of surgery, it was ‘necrotic’ and had burst or leaked because I had to have a bag to drain the fluids out

    Question :
Why is there an apparent increase in acute appendicitis in the "modern age" compared to the 17th-18th century?
Is it dietary, lifestyle , increased prevalence of pathogens or something else?
Just my random question for the day 😂

Except for an occasional (i.e. 3x a year) stomach ache, I had zero symptoms for more than 10 years. The pain will last about a day and I will end up in ER. They never found anything until the doctor at the last hospital decided to do a CT scan.

I woke up with stomach cramps and bloating, then started getting side pain, which kept getting worse (So pain in the stomach moved to the appendix area), then I had to throw up but couldn’t (It seemed like everything inside me was locked in).
I went to fast pace and they tested my urine and said they think i have a kidney infection.
So now I’m on antibiotics hoping it’s not an appendicitis haha..

Hi, My mother's appendix ruptured and she didn't do anything about it for 5-6 days and she had her surgery today and the doctor said it went well and they cleared all the infection, but they said they found something hard in the abdomen (stomach) / intestines. ) they say there may be an infection gathered there, do you think the infection, bacteria collection could cause such a thing or could it be a tumor? Is this normal or appendicitis due to infection?

6:34 thought I’d mention another differential: Omental infarction, which is what I had. Doctors thought it was appendicitis, but it was a misdiagnosis. Was in the OR for 1 hour, 30 mins instead of the usual 30mins it takes to remove an appendix. My Omentum was removed, But I lucked out in the fact I still have my little friend, the appendix.
Edit: 7:42 It wasn’t an appendix mass, I didn’t have appendicitis, My Omentum lost blood flow. My appendix was fine.

once you have removed the appendix you are prone to diabetes, obesity and intestinal transit diseases. the appendix helps the pancreas to secrete insulin in the body and secretes digestive enzymes. people without appendix have immunity.
