      @@saimbhat6243 nope not everything has to do with brits bruh. In hindi we say "ji" idk about tamil but they certainly have some word to show respect as well. Its just that ji directly translates to sir. According to the vedas the 3 noble professions are teacher, doctor and soldier. Over here vishy is his teacher so sir is obvious to use in an english convo.

    Hard not to like almost all of the young players. It seems like chess used to be full of difficult personalities with massive egos (some notable exceptions) but the current generation of elite players seem always rational and calm. And generous with their time in interviews.

      In the past, chess players were focused on getting sponsorships from corporations and media was something on the side. Now, more and more players grow their brand through media interactions

    Calm and planted in the interviews, truly monstrous over the board but respectful every second through it. The young generation has produced some fine gentlemen on the lines of Aronian Anand Gelfand Caruana and others. Great spokespersons for the amazing sport!

    Levy is pulling off those interviews like a "GM Interviewer". FIDE CEO, Candidates players - this is all wonderful stuff for us who enjoy the game. Never before did we have such high quality interviews and "access" to the players!

    amazing. ive been saying for years that pragg plays with the same magic and intensity that carlsen does. you can see the intersecting parts of their personalities here too, the way pragg speaks w the same tranquility and day-to-day casualness that magnus does, but is also intelligent and humorous when it brightens the conversatio and always geniune, and it’s nice to see that pragg has an intelligent aloofness to him aswell. that’s why i think pragg will be world champion even if gukesh and all the other youngsters get more well versed than him in theory. don’t get me wrong i like them all too and they are wonderful players, but pragg just has that intense and clear brain that will get him to that position, at least that’s what I see. may God protect him from the evil eye
