There are going to be so many Star Wars Hangar animations out there after this tutorial series. You guys are doing a good and an indelible mark on UE development. It is great! I believe this will generate a lot of eager new Unreal users.
Thank you for another great video. When I imported the GLB file, the textures on one wing are missing. Is there a setting in the import that may fix this. Thanks for your help.
@badxstudio The TIE fighter you guys download and the one you use seem to be different. The one in the link is 42mb, yet the one you use is only 9.4mb. The names don't seem to match either. The 42mb comes with more files and sometimes breaks the floor texture.
Haha, you're right. I found the one they used made by Heataker. Although it still messed up my floor. I finally brought it in by dragging it and placing it outside the ship. Then I moved it inside.

Not sure why it's breaking floor texture, but for me this worked... Just go outside into space outside the spaceship and pull out the asset, then move it back into your spaceship.
I just built a new PC with an RTX 4070 and have been a little greedy with the texture resolutions and effects quality hehe. Now My GPU hits 100% when i do stuff. Guess i'll have to find a way to use my old 3050 as an external GPU too (if it helps). Edit : In the meantime i've increased VRAM allocation from 70 to 100%, it should help.
Ended up importing as individual parts, deleting the wing that had the missing textures, duplicating the correct wing and mirroring it on the other side:D Probably super stupid method, but it works for a static mesh ;)
It's due to flipped normals, assuming it happened because of mirroring the wing from other side, select the TIE fighter, go to the attributes in the Modeling Mode, then click on Normals, and check "Recalculate Normals" it fixes the issue BUT it affects the smoothing groups at the same time, you will see polygon edges :D
For me tho my graphics card is intel arc a 750 , the glass is not reflecting the lights like yours just some blur lights how can I make it look like your or is it just the capacity limits of my graphics card?
I don't know why but the floor just import the texture of the object that you place above it. I just put aplay the floor texture again to solve the problem
Question for you guys, if you wanted to make a game and you used free assets (or even paid ones) do you need to credit the artist in your game or how does it work?
@@cyanid3311 Hello, to solve it, I opened the model in Cinema 4D (it's what I use) and I realized that there was a problem with the normals, so I made a symmetry on the side that works and then exported it again with gITF format
@@danodesigndanomotion2068 ahh okay okay you just mirrored it …. I sorted it inside of UE … Modelling tab - attribute - normals …. It just fixed itself 😅 …. Someone mentioned this below 👇
HY boys ive got some issues while import. i cant drag or import normally my ue is crashing but if i import with choosing fbx import and click the fbx file its coming no issue how to fix it? i cant drag the file spec is R7 6800h , RTX 3060 6gb and 16gb ram asus rog G17
Can anyone help me with my settings? I am getting so many light reflections. I have played with the roughness of the materials and am still getting them. It's creating a snow like effect in the viewport. Everything is fine in path tracing, but in the regular lit mode you guys have it so clear and min is showing snowy artifacts from so many light bounces im assuming
Ah nice, i made all the tutoials and i got a little bored :D I tried to import some models from sketchfab but i didn't know GLB is the format to use, so imported stuff to blender fixed the textures and export as fxb ... nice to see the easy way now, THANKS! I added a StarDestroyer and some animated Tie Fighters outside the "window" :D
Thanks a lot, I learned so much from this videos, but the engine crash so much when trying to import things that I just gave up, I even started the project from zero and formated my computer but right now I will just give up.
Im hoping to post some of my work after following your tutorials to show my progress on discord. I can't thank you enough for these tutorials and hard work that goes into making them!!!@@badxstudio

Hilarious. how true this statement is.
I'll have to throw mine up here haha from absolutely ZERO experience with any of this. It's crazy.
To fix the Tie_Fighter Material issue - Modeling mode -> Attributes -> Normals -> Accept
it worked
thanks bro

great tutorial same I was always using FBX and then had to re connect or recreate textures life saving!
Glad it helped!

You are so kind
One Wing of my Tie Fighter is just black, am I the only one experiencing this? How can I fix it?
Have the same experience here. Trying to google a bit to find the answer

amazing!!! is there a way to make it so the planet isn't a weird shape at that elevation?
My Macbook is to Weak 😥

when i import lambda fighter the stairs is already opened eventhough the initial position is 0. How to close the stairs for initial position?
When placing down the tie fighter it breaks my floor texture
only fixes if I undo and not if i delete it
Same issue, any fix or ideas? I have been trying things, nothing has worked so far.
Tried downloading different ones until I found one that worked for me.

Great work / good stuff. Can't wait to try out polycam. Thank you for making this.. Cheers.
Thanks buddy! you will love it
one of my wings on the tie is completely black for some reason
Same issue for me ... any idea on how to fix it yet?
Never mind, brought the glb into Blender, combined meshes there, exported and now it works!
Hello, for some reason the textures of the tie fighter do not appear correctly on one side of the wings. Do you have any idea what it could be?
same for me
