      Dear it is because Moissanite is very much a Diamond, CVD, HPHT and moissanites , all are real diamonds. the slight addition of silica in carbon (as in moissanite diamond) gives it a little more glitter and it becomes more beautiful than its counterpart earth mined. Dont get confused. Time has gone when there used to an only one type of diamond. Now there are four types of diamonds, earth mined, and three lab created, cvd, HPHT and Moissi. So relax and chill. Lab created Diamonds have in reality killed the Blood diamond industry, in simple words.

      Dear Rose. who told you that Moissi is not a Diamond.?.. It is very much a Diamond as other CVD and HPHT lab created diamonds are. new D color vvs1 Moissi are also created through CVD and HPHT tech. So that's why all moissi pass all tests like their other counterparts. don't be a victim of century old blood diamond trillion dollar industry's propaganda.

    • @danylavaggiobolzano8092
      @danylavaggiobolzano8092 2 года назад +6

      Dear All, I have studied Diamonds for years now and i Have many. You know why big companies (Mafias) are trying hard to declare a Moissanite ( so called a fake diamond or a simulant etc?). Let me tell you few points out of my research. 1. Moissanite is very much a Diamond, a mined diamond is 99 percent Carbon and man made Moissanite diamond is 92 percent carbon. when created with CVD technique its 6h hexagonal structure is 18 percent harder than a 4h carbon structure . because of the silica presence ,Moissanite diamond shines more. reflects light much better and slight weight difference between carbon and sic is only because of silica presence. 2. Blood diamonds have a bloody history, therefore there have been a lot of controversies and disliking amongst the general public. 3. When the Lab diamond (Moissanite, CVD HPHT etc all are diamonds) were successfully developed, these mafias of mined diamond industry fell into shit. their hundreds of billions of glittering industry came to a fall. so, they had to have a bundle of lame excuses to confuse the people for man made diamonds. 4. Latest D color vvs1 Moissanite diamonds are also being made through CVD and HPFT, so where is the difference?. 5. There is only a difference of origin, one came from the stars and replicated by the men. the other came from deep within the earth. 6. The mafias are still trying their best but are unable to convince the public, but they have given a boom to another industry (Diamond Testers)...7. self created fairies like passing on a diamond as heirloom are disgusting and old gone stories, need not believe in mafias adverts. Reality is that Man has very well made a Diamond that is much better in 4Cs and beauty. Just imagine that the equivalent of a Today's lab created 3 carat D vvs1 Moissanite diamond would cost how much?. The mafia is not gonna give you the same quality less than 100-300 k Dollars. 8. carbon will pass all the tests, news paper, fog, heat , scratch etc etc so the moissanite diamond, because it is very much carbon. have you not seen bII, CVD and HPFT lab created Diamond reading as Moissanites on many Multi and moissanite testers? . why is it so?, why there is no difference?. Because they all are lab created Diamonds, you call it a Moissanite or CVD or FTHT or what so ever, they all are Diamonds but the mafias is deadly against the Lab created diamonds. So thats why , they will keep giving new turns. 9. Time is not far when the Mined Diamond mafia will see its end our Beloved planet will take a sigh of relief. Thanks for your understanding.

    I love my moissanite ring. It sparkles more than my diamond ring. And it’s a flawless DEF color vs my diamond that is only a vs2 and H in color because I couldn’t afford a DEF flawless diamond. But even if you compare both flawless moissy and diamond, the moissanite will still have more sparkle. Moissies are the way to go today. The only thing that makes diamonds special, is the thought that it’s so old and the natural process that it went through. But then the beauty of the moissanite is LITERALLY out of this world.

I don’t wear it at home at all so who knows..l replaced it with a CZ, but it’s not the same. I am not able to work anymore and I do not want my hubby to have to come up with enough to cover the cost of a 2 carat nice diamond. Moissanite sounds like the best thing since CZ’s! I truly enjoyed your demonstration and also have really listened closely to other posts comparing the two.

    Something you guys are missing is “rate of heat transference” is just as important as the amount. These testers’ primary gauge is for amount of heat but the indicators also show something else that’s very important and that’s the rate of heat transference. While the moissanite can transfer heat similar to a diamond, the rate of that transfer is slightly slower and you can see this in the tests. A diamond tester increasing to diamond at a slower than expected rate generally indicates moissanite. It’s something a person who tests these every day would be able to use as an additional level info. Unfortunately, the customer will see diamond on the tester and think it’s a diamond. In all honesty, any customer can also be shown this rate difference as well and be able to gain the trust to believe you on the test results if you were to show them with your own diamonds vs moissanite gems you have in stock in comparison to theirs. You almost cannot mistake how quickly a diamond will set off the tester vs moissanite, regardless of it indicating diamond for both. Pay closer attention to the details as that’s where the truth lies. 👍

Second, you must come straight down on the diamond, rather than at an angle. Third, you need to 'calibrate' the bars to the diamond size. Just sayin'

      heat is applied the moissanite will turn green. He did all of that and said, yes this is a diamond. He offered me $900.00 for the stone. Guess what? It was a moissanite. That is why they had to invent a moissanite tester. All moissanites are not created equal as well, just like diamonds. Some are very hard to distinguish between.

What makes a diamond valuable is the rarity color cut clarity a rare diamond can fetch you millions those tiny little stones they put in every ring or chain is what you are speaking about the quality isn't special it isn't rare it wont command a price. If your diamond is GIA certified you will be paid based on the value. This is why jewelers make miners rich and wealthy people buy from jewelers and sell if they are in need of emergency cash. If it wasn't valuable they would of been all broke.

Otherwise Moissi is very much a diamond like other cvd or HPHT. with a slight addition of silica in carbon to get the better and little more shine. Why the white gloves? The cheap tester says your hand must contact the metal strip on the back, which you would not do wearing gloves. Also, he did not change the setting of the tester (on the back) for the different size stones. Did that make a difference in the testing?

    I bought a diamond tester years ago because my diamond engagement ring somehow had allegedly cracked, so the jewelry store I bought it from sent it out for replacement. The stone looked ok to me, it tested ok which was what I was concerned about. Found out years later when I went to resell, they put in an extremely low quality stone and could not get even a quarter of the money back out of it. I took a $1450 loss. This time round I got a moissanite stone, and I'm hoping the tester actually will show the proper heat conduction so that I know I'm actually getting moissanite and not CZ, since apparently I'm terrible at telling D: I did use it on a couple rings I have I know are CZ to see the heat transference comparison on the tester and they absolutely test nowhere near diamond. So the Diamond Selector II seems to do alright at least for the average person. Side note with Diamond Selector II, you're supposed to touch the heat plate on the back with your bare hands I believe and same with the jewelry you're testing.

Now the jewellers are not buying lab diamonds from people trying to sell them, they needed a way to distinguish lab from natural...this is how they did it. It’s called a light box. Greed is a bitch.

      Moissonite has only a hardness of 9.2, whereas diamond is the hardest substance known to man and has a hardness on 10 on the Mohs scale. They also have different refractive indexes. The refractive index, or R.I. as it is referred to in the trade, is the amount a beam of light is refracted, (bent), as it passes through the stone.

    • @diamondfindsinnorthamerica1407
      @diamondfindsinnorthamerica1407 4 года назад +1

      I agree but just because they look antique doesn’t mean your buying a diamond , they have companies out there cutting old mine cuts with this new type of Moissanite , which is 9.5 on the moshs hardness scale and a lower electrical conductivity then most Moissanite out there. Most of the Moissanite being sold is the higher electrical conductivity type, only type lla or type llb diamonds are conductors of electricity ,which can test as Moissanite? You have to know what is diamond and what is Moissanite with only a good eye and 10 x loupe. Be careful only buy with a certificate GIA or AGS. Or find a trusted diamond trader. I’m a collector I have some Moissanite pieces largest is 5 ct blue color, the blue color looks like a real blue colored diamond but the inclusions told the truth , I bought it as mossanite as I did my other ones, bought a 1.5 for $30 and a 1.7 for $35, it’s really poor quality, and I bought a 1.5 ct moissanite it was the new type it was a E color no inclusions passed as a diamond on every tester I could find. One day while having it tested, just as I did at every jeweler before I just went in with this beautiful 1.5 carat ring , never said diamond sapphire or moissanite , it passed as a diamond, and was offered money , I was offered $7500 cash once and $20000 on a trade in won’t mention stores name, Big large Diamond jewelry store, but I did tell them all it was Moissanite and it blew them away, and a few weeks later that Big jewelry store called me and asked if I still had that ring, I did and they offered me an offer I couldn’t refuse. This thing fooled 5 G** graduates that had been in business for 10 to 40 years, and many other business owners ,who all told me they need know 100% they aren’t buying what I was showing them, I did tell them it’s a crime to sell a Moissanite as a Diamond and even have them sign a stated fact to the best of their knowledge what they are selling is a diamond.Call the police have them waiting outside, with a copy of what they sold and signed and the cash, but understand the person might not know, so my opinion is when in doubt throw it out.

    Hello! My name is Alex and I am with GemOro Superior instruments. Thank you for taking the time to review our PRO-D 2 Tester! We see that you are comparing our oldest tester model (which has been discontinued for over 3 years) to newer and more sophisticated technology based testers. You stated in your video that the testers you are displaying are the ones utilized for "everyday use for the jeweler for a quick glance to test something out right away" is a false statement on our products behalf- seeing that the tester has not been manufactured for years. If you were planning on comparing a GemOro tester to the 2 other testers you were videoing, the best model to compare would either be our UltraTester 3+ or Testerossa. Both testers have the latest Diamond and Moissanite testing technology as we partnered with Charles and Colvard, the creators of Moissanite, when developing this advanced technology. Unfortunately, your video does not give the public an accurate representation of the latest Diamond and Moissanite testing technology available- since the age of the testers you are comparing vary greatly. If you are interested in comparing compatible technology, I am more than happy to send you a sample of our latest tester for you to try out. We kindly ask that you explain the discrepancies of your video in your description section to avoid giving the public a false understanding of Diamond and Moissanite testing technology. Thank you and have a nice day. -GemOro Superior Instruments

Apparently when heat is applied the moissanite will turn green. He did all of that and said, yes this is a diamond. He offered me $900.00 for the stone. Guess what? It was a moissanite. That is why they had to invent a moissanite tester. All moissanites are not created equal as well, just like diamonds. Some are very hard to distinguish between.

    Diamonds customers wouldn’t want to be compared to Moissanite customers. It’s two different stones with different value for different customers.

      You can only test diamonds with a diamond tester, otherwise they would call them gem testers. For other stones you need a fair amount of knowledge and some different instruments to test them.

    Send diamonds to GIA, moissanites to PGGL? Well if I'm not sure what I have, that could be an issue right? A little explanation?
