    Based on the way you described how you both liked the theming in this game, you should definitely check out Consumption: Food and Choices. That game was designed by a dietician and it is hands-down the most thematic game I have every played. Every single mechanic is 100% tied to the theme in such a logical way; I think Maggie will love that about it so much!

    I’ve had several chances to play this at conventions as it was going through development. You both describe the tension of the game perfectly. The game is adorable but thinky. I’m also a big fan of puns. I’m so glad that’s something this game also has in common with Flamecraft. I’m looking forward to the final product!

    This is why I love your channel. Just an amazing overview of the game, how to play, details into the theme and how the mechanics tie in. Top shelf review! I'm excited for Alex and this game to hit kickstarter. I'll definitely be backing. Couldn't get a sense of how it plays while I saw it at Gen Con but this just sold me. Thanks!

    Thanks for the sneak peek! I like the simultaneous secret action selection, which I have been enjoying a lot recently with Game of Thrones 2nd Ed and Libertalia: Winds of Galecrest. The secret public goals seem like another fun layer of tension too.

    This is a bit too thinky for my family with a bit more competitive action to out-think the opponent. Flamecraft is more our thing with ample friendly interactions and very straightforward simple mechanics

    Hi Amy & Maggie, the starting peech remember to me another game to me : each restaurant (tavern) need to found some ingredients with three assymetrics workers, to be able to cook recipes we re able to find in a river of cards... is that the peech of Taverns & Dragons? :)
    Comparison stop here, game is really different, but it was fun to me who ve discuss with the taverns & dragon's authors.

    I suspect the theme wouldn't work for most of our group, but the gameplay seems very interesting, and I was happy to hear your comments on the scaling. It almost reminds me of Dungeon Petz in certain aspects, but I suspect that's a very spurious comparison.

    • @pvaughan007
      @pvaughan007 11 месяцев назад

      Awesome to hear the scaling passed the test. Funnily enough, the design team had not seen Dungeon Petz, but we love looking at this game in that light. As for the theme, here's hoping they get hungry at some point! ;)

    • @theunamiable
      @theunamiable 11 месяцев назад

      @@pvaughan007 There's not much similarity, but Dungeon Petz has blind bidding of your workers to improve their chances of getting the stuff you need. On reflection, Dungeon Lords is closer, since you have cards representing the places you can go, and you select three of them using face-down cards arranged in priority order. But Dungeon Petz has cute critters (okay, monsters) which is the important thing :)

    Hi Amy and Maggie! Woaw are you back in Australia already? I hope you had a wonderful time at Essen and in Europe :) Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the Joeyfam meetup since I went to a concert in Amsterdam that night of a New Zealand band called L.A.B., have you heard of them? I thought maybe I spot you on Saturday but the crowds said no 😂 Take care and hope the jetlag will be over soon! Cis

    I'm in the Flamecraft general chat group on FB, and Peter Vaughn said you were getting a copy of Critter Kitchen to review, so I've been anticipating this review 🤩🤩
    Ya know, I wasn't going to try and snoop in your game bag if you're at the next BGBBQ game day until you mentioned that you'd take it to game days, hahaha! It looks really fun, and I think Sandara has done an amazing job with illustrating Flamecraft and Critter Kitchen, they're utterly gorgeous 🥰

    I don't think we need another one of these even if it has some more to think about than Flamecraft. There are SO many of this game type. Only so much time to play it all. I'll keep my Flamecraft and admire the art of Critter from afar.

    • @pvaughan007
      @pvaughan007 11 месяцев назад

      We'll see! Sandara has continued to make everything so pretty - every player screen is now their own restaurant, and the main board is all brand new. She is drawing new, exciting critters daily and illustrating another masterpiece. Win-win for us, getting to work with her!

    • @ylein6508
      @ylein6508 11 месяцев назад +1

      Maybe those cards like the balck market and soup truck etc can be bigger to showcase the art. Currently it looks quitd small. Also I really like the playmat board in flamecraft so would like to see that too

    • @pvaughan007
      @pvaughan007 11 месяцев назад

      @@ylein6508 yep, we made those bigger after this prototype! The playmat doesn’t work for this one due to modular modes and player count changes, but we have tons of art coming up adding in!

    Not a fan of the overall design / artwork. Also don't like the meeples. Looks a bit on the tacky side. But keen to see final product.
