As a former Protestant my mental prayer life was the only prayer life I knew and it was deep and rich and when I discovered all the glorious written prayers of the church I found all I was doing were those prayers and your videos as a new catholic have brought me back to the joy of my mental prayer life

I close my eyes always and during my Rosary, all readings become clearer and I witness the Holy Sacrifice as it takes place at the altar. And now I feel the Lord's beating Heart in the Tabernacle at our parish at St. Joseph's parish Boroko, Papua New Guinea 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
It's wonderful, however, it's better to focus on the Mass during the service. Focus on meeting with Jesus, drink His blood and eat His body. Other prayers and intentions can be done when we're outside the Mass
“Who does your family deserve to love them? A saint!!” 🔥 🔥 🔥 I’ll add to what Gabe says, in addition to making an Eucharistic touch, we mustn’t forget the indispensable sacrament of CONFESSIONS! I recently put my time inside the confessional on turbo, and it’s been incredibly life changing! I’m going consistently every 2 weeks, and boy, I cannot afford to go less often. The amount of graces this sacrament pours on your soul cannot be taken for granted. It makes all other sacraments infinitely times more POWERFUL! Because you’re showing up in a constant state of grace, and leaving no blessings on the table when receiving communion, when striving to live out your life as a CONFIRMED soldier of Christ, and in my case, as a married man and father to three children, I’m showing up for them radiating with Christ’s presence, each time walking just a little bit more like Christ. Please please PLEASE do not neglect frequent examinations of conscience during mental prayer and visit the confessional often, preferably with the same priest (you don’t just switch primary care providers at random do you?) and even better if he’s your spiritual director.
Is it just the increase in frequency that has helped you or the way you prepare. I go monthly to my spiritual director i feel I need to go more but have difficulty preparing . Thanks for any help 🙏
@@jenyoung2473 it’s both. Like with anything, practice makes you better at it. Especially when you cultivate it into a daily habit with examinations of conscience. Some people go as far as to keep a journal which greatly improves their spiritual formation. I’ve tried journaling, but I struggle to keep that habit. I tend to do my examinations of conscience at night before bed or right after our family rosary in the evenings. Also, the graces you receive from each confession do the heavy lifting. I believe these graces help “sensitize” you more to sin, it removes the fog and allows you to see clearer so that you’re stronger equipped to not fall into temptations and recognize the impurities and chaos around you with a much wiser lens
My protestant brothers are trying hard to stop me from praying the rosary and taking down my images and statues of God and his mother and his saints all alive in heaven. But I'm resolved in my prayer life and have been blessed with many signal graces, and so 🙏 their is no chance for the Heresies of protestants to change the active practises of a joyful Catholic..

Oh my goodness Gabe, this is exactly what I needed to hear! I've been struggling with prayer and being present at mass. I went to talk to a priest and he didn't have the right words to say. I thought I had fallen and failed. After my conversion my prayer life was so strong but after a few years the honeymoon phase was over and now I have to really work to keep my relationship with Jesus. I know he loves me and that he is present in the Eucharist, but I thought I had fallen back asleep and become of the world. The Lord kept and keeps bringing up Theresa of Avila and St. John of the cross to me, but your talk just brought everything together! Idk if this was your experience with a Novus Ordo priest or not, but I had a similar experience with one of them once or twice as well, until I eventually found a FSSP parish and started getting really deep into my prayer life/ growing spiritually due to traditional priests that gave me the words I needed to hear as hard as the truth was maybe sometimes to hear… but it was a game changer forsure! Cradle catholic turned TLM goer here, not saying anything wrong about Novus Ordo or anything but simply saying my experience. I’ve been in that spot before and I was advised I needed a spiritual director !( in hindsight, they totally could have offered to be mine but they didn’t) but it’s alright, I found mine eventually and it changed my life completely. Pray,fast, penance, and frequent communion and confession 🙏🏻
Truly great! We pray the Holy Spirit will grant our Protestant brothers and sisters grace to desire, hunger and crave to commune with the Living God at His banquet table and that all Catholic faithful will be more fully opened up to receive the endless grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. A few years ago when I was really troubled I started meeting Jesus down by the river and sitting with him on a rock and sometimes he would speak and sometimes I would tell him my troubles. It seemed so comforting. The River was in my mind and in a forest and the rock was low just hanging over the river, it was a peaceful place and I imagined in my mind the sound of the flow of the river. The Lord is a gentle hand to hold or put my head on His shoulder in times of need.
I’m trying very hard Gabriel to include more mental prayer in my life. I’ve already found a few ways to put myself in the rosary mysteries. From the whole replacing Simon of Cyrene to even being a little late for the nativity. All the shepherds are gone and The Blessed Mother and St Joseph are just about ready to put baby Jesus to bed. It’s helped the rosary. I don’t use it on its own that much.
We cannot become Fearless apostles without encountering Jesus and abiding in Him through prayer, the Sacraments, and holy Scripture daily...not just going through the motions, but having a living relationship with Him...and waiting upon Him to empower us with His Holy Spirit, the Third Person of the Trinity 🙏🕊💕

11:22 I will say this. It works but the best part is, is when Jesus speaks back to your heart, to you! It’s in such a way, that couldn’t possibly be you or your imagination, that you know it’s really Him! Given my recent reversion, and a handful of holy hours that I’ve been to, only three (3) times I heard Him and felt Him! Each time I was in shambles, driven to a river of tears flowing from my eyes! The experience itself and after, I felt like I could move mountains, that’s how much confidence I have in Him! He’s worked miracles in my life and with my life, I give it all to Him!
What a strong start. 💪 I must confess I'm more often than not weeping over the sad reality that the majority are without life or even care to know about the truth of J.C. the more zealous and on forw my heart is for God and his church the more I see the unbelief around me and the more concerned for others souls I am. So what do i do?? I pray extra rosaries, especially for reversion of my family and conversion of all sinners. For the month of November, pray the glorious mysteries for the suffering souls in purgatory and the sorrowful mysteries for our Pope, clergy, and laity and church. Joyful for conversions. Then an extra few rosaries for other petitions and thanks givings. Prayer language matters, and praying a rosaries in Latin is even better than in Emglish.

Time for God a book by Jacques Phillipe The best book on mental prayer ! A priest recommended me this book during confession he knew I was in mental prayer when I had no idea. I’m only 16 and this book helped me comprehend more about what I’m living through .
Wow, you quoted John 6 52 to 54. I have so many times on line. It proves all must be Catholics to be saved. I wondered why the Pope and all priests were not teaching this clearly. We do a favour to all we tell it too. Jesus established only one Church now called Catholic where you can receive all His Sacraments worthy, no where else!!! Also the world needs more then anything to be taught about sacramental marriage. To be open to life as God wants us to be. Jesus is the bread that came down from heaven. Jesus is the Word of God. So His Word is bread that came from heaven. We must first empty ourselves before God and surrender our will before His, read and meditate on His Word. His Word will nourish your body and soul and your Eucharistic experience will be more meaningful.

Gabi I got a message for you, this Christmas is a Christmas without Jesus. Jesus was removed from Christmas. The Lord wants us to put Him back into Christmas. Reminds us that this season was celebrated because of Him and His greatest act of Love to be born and to die for us. True Love was born in a manger. For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Gabi I ask nothing not even a prayer from you but I ask that a campaign that Jesus be put back into Christmas. Pictures that people put the (Blessed) Nativity scene at there altar. Santa wasnot the center of Christmas but Jesus is. It proves all must be Catholics to be saved. I wondered why the Pope and all priests were not teaching this clearly. We do a favour to all we tell it too. Jesus established only one Church now called Catholic where you can receive all His Sacraments worthy, no where else!!!
Also the world needs more then anything to be taught about sacramental marriage. To be open to life as God wants us to be. Also that first duty of parents is to teach the True Catholic Faith to there children!!!

Jesus is the bread that came down from heaven. Jesus is the Word of God. So His Word is bread that came from heaven. We must first empty ourselves before God and surrender our will before His, read and meditate on His Word. His Word will nourish your body and soul and your Eucharistic experience will be more meaningful.

For a year, as I’ve been discerning Catholicism (as a Protestant) and being drawn in my intellect and by nudges of the Holy Spirit in my heart, I’ve been under an onslaught of scrupulosity over past sin and a particular temptation from the evil one that I shouldn’t trust what I “hear” from God because I might just be making it up. Between my lunch with a priest friend yesterday and hearing this today, I feel LIBERTY in Christ. Praise Him and good on you, my brother. Your work is kicking the kingdom of darkness in the teeth. 💪🏽

Gabi I got a message for you, this Christmas is a Christmas without Jesus. Jesus was removed from Christmas. The Lord wants us to put Him back into Christmas. Reminds us that this season was celebrated because of Him and His greatest act of Love to be born and to die for us. True Love was born in a manger. For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Gabi I ask nothing not even a prayer from you but I ask that a campaign that Jesus be put back into Christmas. Pictures that people put the (Blessed) Nativity scene at there altar. Santa wasnot the center of Christmas but Jesus is. The Song Christmas in our Hearts by jose mari chan was a good reminder of what is happening today. Thank you and God bless.

I love that I found this video! This is what I have been missing the whole time! However, the only question: I am an altar server and serve most Masses especially weekdays at my parish, could anyone give me good tips for imagining Jesus and Mary's Presence whilst I'm serving? It seems easier to do from the pew
At the consecration you can do it.... is it a little harder? Yes... but you know what would be even more difficult??? Standing at the crucifixion 2000 years ago... so you got this.
