Unfortunately I accept everything because the driver amount and over half the time im in traffic when I get another ride and uber needs to display larger that way you can see everything other then the time the ride is going to take I went from 3 days a week making $600 to 7 days maybe $300at best that's working the original 3 days the location as well as the other 4 day scrambling
I'm sorry. With the damage that evs do to the environment. I just can't support it yet. And utilizing children to mine the minerals, it's just criminal. I can't believe people ignore that.
Seems every time I say something negative about ev's my comment gets deleted. Evs do too much damage to the environment. And they employ children to mine for the materials. This is unacceptable, and people should not allow it.
Also, people should realize that when they say they have solar panels and they charged our car for free. That's an illusion. When you pay for solar panels and the maintenance of them, it comes out to about the same price as a tank of gas. In some areas even more. People need to do research instead of just believing what they read on facebook.
I use time as the way to calculate if I will do the ride or not. 2 miles down the highway and 2 miles through town are not the same but 10 mins is 10 mins no matter where you go (for the most part)
NO UPFRONT INFO IN MY MARKET: I work in Philly but NJ doesn't show me upfront info. So if I accidentally accept a ride into NJ, I would turn it off and head back into Philly. Last night, I had a 2 hr $130 ride to northern PA. Thinking I could get a ride/rides heading towards Philly with Ride Destination, I took it. Turns out that rural PA also doesn't do upfront info. I drove for an hr before it started giving me the info I needed to make adventageous decisions on incoming ride requests I was hoping to make $200-250 but made about $160 on a 4.5 hr round trip bc of the lack of upfront info by Pottsville PA. It wasn't great but was a learning experience. Hopefully, this info will help others in my market.
I am just starting with Uber and have learned more from you two and this one video than from all the videos from Uber. Thank you so much. I am going out with a little bit of comfort and knowledge today!
Im determined for now on call customers and ask them if they are going to NY or Penn. If they are, i just ask them to cancel. PERIOD. I called uber support over this issue about letting me know the duration of both picking up and dropping off customer, plus the amount. And uber keeps stonewalling me. I still don't see nothing. I have been calling them for 3 months and nothing
Good or even great social experiment of modern times. However, financially for drivers and in some cases passengers it’s a bust! These companies are miserable! Use your network, spread the word and drive for yourself!!!!
I know why Uber is not answering. Your job is to drive, and you must go to the destination whether you like it or not. Calling the pax and asking him to cancel is JUST RUDE. Find another job, buddy.
I was headed back down to Bridgeport, a one-hour ride, to return someone’s backpack. I had to keep the rides on to maintain the insurance. This was a rented Tesla. I could not accept the rides, because the kid was waiting for his backpack. I had to let the rides go. I tell you, that notifications they send you is annoying, that you will lose your status and benefits (Diamond) if your acceptance rate is too low.
THIS IS THE FORMULA! #1-LOOK AT TOTAL MINUTES, DIVIDE BY 2 IN YOUR HEAD AND THEN LOOK IF THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU WILL BE PAID IS MORE DOLLARS THAN THAT NUMBER IN YOUR HEAD. IF YES, THEN LOOK AT TOTAL MILES AND IF TOTAL DOLLARS BEING PAID FOR THE TRIP IS MORE THAN THE NUMBER OF MILES, THEN YOU HAVE A $30/HOUR+ RIDE!! If you are really good then the last variable is check to see that the destination of the trip matches with your desires. This is the one and only formula
20 miles for $20 …. You are kidding right?? Gas alone is$4 …. Now you are at $16 …. Looks like you are “helping” Uber decide how LITTLE they will get away with paying the workers/drivers ….. Uber paying you?? Stupid games really …..
I love the people that think that charging cars at night using their solar panels means it's free... Paying $300 or $400 a month for your solar system, it's still paying.
In NY they only show us how many minutes instead of the price. How we can figure? Yours still show address. In NY only says South, North, East, etc. how to know?
Please for the life of me… Ppl stop 🛑 taking these $4.00 rides! Uber is trying to condition us to take smaller and smaller fares…. Next thing you know it would be $3.25 fares
Lyft is using TUrbo bonus hours to push fares beneath my market's minimum fare of $4.12. I've seen rides at $3.50 offered as the base pay minus surge or other bonuses.
This is VERY helpful. I have been trying to include ALL factors and there is just not enough time. Doing time/per minute pay versus trying to tie in the mileage is great and excludes a time-consuming element that generally lasts too long ,,,, thank you .
All of those fares were Garbage!!! Up Front Earnings is just a Race to the Bottom, get rid of it and push for a more of a Safety Net Model. Minimum Fare amount, which includes $$$$ per mile and $$$$ per minute and with that you know you will be compensated fairly. Up Front Fares you will just get Bottom Feeders who will just be accepting Garbage. With me in Australia, all I see is minutes away and km away and map of where pick up location roughly is, Nothing Else. I just look at the minutes to pick up and the rough pick up location before I accept, because I know I will be compensated fairly with $$$$ per mile and minutes. I do not care about miles, all I care about is $$$ per hour. If I earn $46/hr or less, I have had a bad shift.
Dallas/Ft Worth based out of: Grand Prairie, TX near the DFW International Airport 1.5 months into Ride Share Running: Tuesday - Fridays 6/7am till 6/7pm only avoiding the night shifts with the crazies such as: Dr Drugs or Cpt Muleshits...so yeah thanks Monica....
Even at the Diamond level, I am not given the fare or destination address, only the estimated time/distance to pickup, estimated time/distance to destination and a compass direction (N S E W). Even after I accept, the destination is hidden until the rider is in my car and I start the trip. If it’s a multi-stop destination, the other stops are a mystery as well until I click on the “go to next stop” button. I suspect it’s because my area hasn’t switched yet to upfront fares, but it’s ridiculous not knowing where they want me to go before accepting the trip. And if I drop below an 85% acceptance rate, Im not shown any destination information at all. It happened to me recently and even after I got back over 85%, there was a day lag to get my “Uber Pro” benefits back.
Like me, you are still on time and distance, not upfront pricing. I would love to get the actual pickup and destination in the initial offer, but not for their "ride goes to the lowest bidder" upfront scheme.
It's where you are located. For instance, NJ does that... and I rather turn off uber and drive back to Philly than take rides blindly when my rides takes me into NJ. It's crazy to make you pick up riders blindly. They won't chance unless you make them. If you and every else in your region stop driving then you would force them to chance. But everyone drives bc they need the money and can't fight the good fight, especially on their own. One of the few good reason for a union, I guess.
NO UPFRONT INFO IN NJ. This is the reason why when I drive I lean more towards Lyft than Uber. I think it's a slap in the face to us as drivers not giving us more detailed info for us to make informed decisions to accept or decline rides. Uber knows they can do it but choose not to do so.
New driver. This game is perfect practice. I probably won't hit $30/hr in my area, but with newbie limitations, I can shoot for $20. My big challenge is a sprawling 7 city area with lots of tolls. I commute in from the outskirts of Hampton Roads, VA. I'm learning to stay in one city and keep a smaller radius. I've been in the habit of accepting my first ride, because it's usually good money, but I can land me anywhere. I'm not doing that any more.
I'd be happy if Uber would tell us how much trips would be!! My area tells me nothing of pay up front! Makes me so mad when I see how you guys get to know your trip price!
The area that I'm at always shows how much is being paid for ride. However, I was in another part of the state and turned Uber on and It did not show what the pay was at all. All it showed was the distance away and how long it would take to get there. You mentioned that you have that? How can you even take rides? If you don't know what you're going to get paid. It would seem like it's a great way to make sure you're not getting paid fairly.
What is this "money for miles" thing people do? It should always be for the time. $1 for every 2 minutes gets you $30 an hour, $2 for every 3 minutes gets you $40 and hour. It's the only math you need to know. 1. Look at the $$ per minute. Are you going to average out $30 an hr... or what ever your goal is. But don't sell yourself short!!! 2. See where it is going. Are you going to a ride dead zone? Accept a lower amount only if you want to go that direction anyway (final ride and heading home) 3. See the rating of the rider. Don't get stuck in your car w an/multiple A holes for more than 10 minutes. It's just not worth it.
Most Uber drivers think they are like employees to Uber but this is not true. Uber drivers are the same owner operators as those in trucking business. When I stay home for rest out of driving truck I would also drive Uber. But Uber is always disgusting to drivers by giving lower rates on trips. If you are owner operators in trucking business you would consider how much the rate you get the load for total miles including deadhead miles. Because all the expenses including IFTA tax, diesel, registration and maintenance fees are switching to $ dollars per mile, and brokers will provide the information details of the load,of which most important is $/mile,then you will know this trip will be profitability or loss. Otherwise you should be considered as an employee without any expenses.😂
One more thought: any time there’s a trip that’s conveniently about half an hour.. just double it to calculate your hourly rate. Which, if you know your worth, is more than $11 or $13 dollars an hour.
@Therideshareguy, This channel gave me the confidence to go ahead and drive Uber. Cherry picking $2 per mile was working perfectly, I stopped burning thru gas and was making $31hr consistently. But for the past two weeks, I haven't seen a trip over $0.85 (often less). I don't know what is going on, also I'm waiting as long as 10-15 minutes for ride offer. Today, I didn't get a ride offer for 35 minutes. I drive in Chicagoland, south loop, medical district to South suburbs. Please, 🙏 Sergio have you heard anything similar from more experienced drivers in my market?😢
Thats the algo trying to break you of your greedy ways, dont let the algo break you. Requests will eventually come, they need us more than we need them.
Well I've had an akward situation. It was my first day running with Uber and being a driver for people and I wasnt aware of how to turn off the requests when i was in the middle of getting other people to their destinations, Didnt realize it costed my to deny them and now i cant get any requests for the last 2 hours on my second day! Very hard lesson learned
14:26 how to turn Uber share ride to regular Uber X ride with no extra passengers just the one trip Thank you Sergio I do this same thing when I get all Uber share rides
I’m too the point now I accept every ride . I’ve noticed if your acceptance rate or cancellation rate is high you will not get as many trips. Your business will be slow. I like to stay busy keep the streak going. I would even go into bad areas people are scared because of crimes and gangs. I been doing it for 6 years now and scared money don’t make money
I’m with you 100%. I’ve tried the cherry picking strategy that these two preach. When I’m cherry picking, I go from getting stream of rides, to waiting minutes between offers that are mostly crap.
I am the top driver in a high-crime city. There are days when I cannot get out of there, I shut off and drive out of there, and nearly all of the rides do not break $10. The higher paying “Trip Radar” out of this area are given to or taken by other drivers.
Uber sending new requests while you are still driving and have a rider. They can wait until u complete that ride, then send a new request, a big safety hazard
Great minds think alike, Sergio. I don't look at the big number 1st. I look where I'm going to end up at 1st then where I go to pick them up. I let a lot go by.
I accept every ride since the name of the game is to get people where they are going. I understand it’s different for those who do it full time. I only log on when I get days off from my oilfield job. I’ve been a rider for many years and it’s saved me from several dui’s
@@fixtheapp418 I see what you mean, I’m just in a different position where the money isn’t as important and I only log in one week a month since my regular job is 3 weeks on and one week off. I know from being a rider they offer promos and stuff which is probably what makes some of them so low. They would probably be better off going back to how it was setup originally and just offer a straight fare for time and mileage and pay the driver 75% instead of collecting most of the fare for advertising and whatever else they think they need.
Sometimes you don’t have time or chance to look at the offferd Uber send. They just get added to the queue while you are driving the how can one make a decision in 10 sec. The driver should look at the road or try to read the Message at the cost of accident
That's my issue. Plus uber maps suck big time so I use a different map. I then have to go back to Uber app to try to see and accept the ride....it's ridiculous
I'm new to rides I usually do Ubereats/ Doordash. My Comment/Question Is ... In NJ, I don't even see how much the trip is or pick up/drop off location. It Just shows how many minutes to the pick up. If you except. Once you pick up passenger you only see time it'll take to drop them off. Once you drop off that's when you see the pay! Why is that?
10 seconds to pick and if there is a surge bonus then the app cuts in to the base rate😂 truly is a fool’s gold to make a living doing laps around town this days
I've been doing both Uber/LYFT about 2 weeks now for the most part I have common sense when it comes to cash or trash. It's basic is it fair to you. Ask yourself before accepting any rides. Time =$. In some cases you may have to take unwanted rides
Guys hello there is an area / market where they will hide the details if you don't accept a few rides....the details completely disappear it just shows how far the pickup is.
I use to get $120 from Easton to Brooklyn, I use to get $88,$95 from Easton to NJ airport, now they want me to drive to NY for $62 dollars, now they want me to do those same NJ airport trips for $44 dollars, 82 miles to NY for $62 dollars.😂 In the afternoon I rejected $120 trips that were to NY, the hell I will take that trip 164 miles total for $62 dollars. I haven't take a single long trip in months, I even complain in their Twitter page and put the trip they were giving me vs what they really charge the PASSANGER for that trip and told them to stop trying to scam me.😊
Same for me I used to drive for Lyft, passengers pay 24 to 28$ and as a driver I used to get only 10,75$, working during the day or during the night makes no difference… I had 3$ 4$ ride offer in the middle of the night… I STOPPED
@@911nacky Yeah I stopped driving for them, and strangely enough, I had to take an Uber a few days ago and Lyft wwas charging a dollar more then Uber, so they charge even more and give you less.
When l calculate the time l add extra 4 or 5 minutes specially if l am very close to the pick up location, and most of the time l get rides that pays 1 dollar per minute of my time
Has anyone evaluated the accuracy of Uber estimated pickup and ride times? What about driving at speed limit? If Uber dings us on exceeding speed limit, their estimates should be based on the speed limit and not the flow of traffic.
I'm going to give an easy answer. Know the area and traffic patterns and how people respond to different situations such as weather. I deal with this as a new driver but I've worked and went to school in Pittsburgh, PA.
I go by the $30 dollar an hour rule. So that means if it’s 15 minutes, it better be $7.50 or higher or I reject it. It’s a quick way for me to judge with the short time we have to make a decision. If it says 30 minutes and it’s offering $14, it’s a no.
Hello guys, I am a new Uber driver in New Jersey. I am not seeing the cost and where my rides are going until I pick up the passenger. Please let me know how to change this feature if it can be changed on my phone.
On the second example, I actually chose "Cash." I figured Inglewood is good since it puts you in a possible pickup area around SoFi Stadium/LAX. But it works out to be 47¢ per minute. Sergio says 65¢ minimum. The offer would have to be at minimum $24.70. Offer shown is $17.89.
I drive out of Quad Cities (Moline/Rock Island, IL - Davenport/Bettendorf, IA). Most of my pings are more distance to the pickup than the actual ride. For instance, I get trips for 13 miles away, 4 mile trip. That is all I get. I'm constantly busy because I take anything I can get (there isn't 4 million people wanting rides out here). I drive 12 hour shifts 6 days a week and average 30 rides per day - which equates to anywhere between $150-$200 per day. I am a Diamond Level Uber and Elite Level Lyft - 4.98 on Uber/5.0 on Lyft. I never cancel a trip unless the rider doesn't show up. There is no such thing as Uber Comfort/Black or XL out here. They are all UberX.
So I tried your method using the time instead of miles. Saturday night I have already 60 declines in the first hour and 0 rides as 0 offers were paying .50 per minute. Am in the Phoenix market. First 90 min 60 declines. As I said none were even close to .50 per minute on either Lyft or Uber. So now what?
@sergioSMTMC1 Yea, I fully understand about adapting. My acceptance rate is pretty close to yours at 12% Out here in Scottsdale, rideshare starts ramping up the week of Christmas... nice surges, and extremely busy heading into new years eve...then we have the Barrett Jackson Car auction, followed by the Phoenix Waste Management Open Golf tourney, best week of the year for drivers. And then spring training. But now, it is still very high demand, as I ended up with approx 170 declines on Uber X and Lyft last night. 0 surging. So shifted to Door Dash for 2 hours, and did well, about $73 then went back to ride share, still no surges, but caught 2 rides that got me $60 in an hour and 17 min... Not great, but was doable.
Only count at the end of the week, how much money you made for how long, those numbers tell you how much you made by hour, $ 20/hour, should be decent for me.
I'm in San Antonio. Sprawl is part of the problem, which means all trips will have long distances. According to this video, all San Antonio rides are trash.
Interesting video to see others mindsets and posted comments. However, I'm surprised to see nothing about passenger rating being part of the 10 second decision. The 1st 2 examples had ratings of 4.74 and 4.61...instant declines for me! After 7+ years of Uber/Lyft , I've learned to not accept ANY passengers rated below 4.8, period.
Very interesting I have not even learned yet how to figure out what there reading system is I am so worried about looking at the distance and time and money in them little seconds that you have
@scottkeller8890 Au contraire, grasshopper. Low rating = passengers that are more likely to: 1) make u wait longer at pickup 2) do things that lead to ride cancellation by you 3) add a stop after the initial ride has started 4) have difficult personalities that cause in-ride issues 5) not tip you 6) smell bad and/or damage/make a mess in your car 7) make false complaints about you that lead to your suspension or deactivation from the platform.
Trash to Cash is a recycling market held every first Friday and Saturday of the month to encourage waste segregation and recycling among our customers and tenants.
Ok, but how is everyone being “selective” and not losing you status due to acceptance rates? When I’m “selective” I lose my platinum status due to a low acceptance
Also I agree that a $20 ride isn't a 20-dollar ride it's a 20.00 ride if it takes you to some place else it's busy. I work in the Tampa and Orlando area if I get a ride to the very north of what Tampa Bay is considered there's no business coming back to where the hot spots are going to be
Whats the deal with comfort rides thats a negative.... he said when talking about that 1st one being trash and he said "and its a comfort ride on top of that"
"each 15 minutes"? Night time Vegas I mostly get my next ping as soon as the app sees where my current trip is dropping. I am nearly always trip-to trip-to trip-to trip. Unless a trip goes to the strip, then I kill requests til I can get away. Am not earning at 10 minutes per block.
You did not factor in Quest bonus. How do you figure in Quest bonuses? If I have a Quest paying, say average of $1.50 per ride, I add that to UpFront fare so if $10 ride comes in with 20 minute total pickup and drop off time, that’s $11.50 for 20 minutes or $34.50 per hour of active time.
I just started uber and my promotional diamond club is gone. Points wise I'm gold (I'm doing this to pay bills while injured from driving semi-trucks) which is why i haven't been able to drive as much as most people can. I was told by a support member that while I'm driving if I don't accept rides that is won't effect my acceptance rate. Well that was a lie. I have a 51% acceptance rate because i didn't know what all I was doing wrong. Now I'm not able to see anything about a ride, except how far I am from a rider. I don't get to see how much I'll be paid or where that rider is going. I have been told by uber rep that the only way to get this resolved is you take every ride requests. Clearly i have no choice since there is no information at all. I'm thinking I should just quit ubering completely.
When was this Taped because Uber doesn’t have the surge pricing anymore at all whatsoever all it is is fake surging. It says surge, but you don’t see any type of Dowler amount attached to it anymore. Which I think is ridiculous. Another way for them to scam us drivers as well as the passengers.
One problem I’m having in Philly market with trip radar the information provided states drop off clearly however unless I memorize city streets I cannot always determine where the destination is. So to a degree I’m still blind and guessing only to find out good payouts are to a not ideal part of city. Even when I select no more trip requests while finishing a trip, the radar comes on when I go back online doing the same crap not showing full map so destination is only address cannot get a visual in time to make decision. Any advice appreciated.
rider asked me how much am i making and i told them i dont know not until the rides over come to find out they paid $52? i believe customer said and i got paid $34.99 this is with my $10.00 tip & $5.50 surge so total i made was was $34.99 does that sound right?
The time is extremely important but if I know I can cut the time in half by taking another route and knowing my local traffic behavior I will take/decline
How do I do this without upfront pricing. They screwed me this morning to pick up a minor. I waited the 7 minutes, got $9.42 and reported him to Uber. Hours later they took my $9.42 and replaced it with $3.85! I was pissed and asked why they said it was a wrong price adjustment, I ended up getting $6.85.
To all Uber driver, go and get yourself a real job. Uber is taking advantage of you while putting riders safety at risk. Stay away from Uber at all costs.
To the: "get yourself a real job" is b.s. statement. Are you emplying driving as a source of income is a fake job? I drive for Uber and Wridz in my spare time. After working full time for 42 years, the last thing I want is to be tied down to another full or part time job. However, Uber totally sucks the stale farts out of dead pelicans when it comes to the driver's pay. Uber routinely takes an average of 50% of what the rider pays. Wridz or any of the other private rideshare companies generally aren't greedy bsstards with stock holders to satisfy. Why I am also a Wridz driver. I keep 100% of the fare.
I am just here to learn about other industries and the job you drivers do is very important. I don’t know why but I seem to enjoy reading the comments like 60% to 40% of the video content ( sorry RSG ) One thing I learned in life is when I show up to work I give it 100% and be courteous to all people I am in contact with regardless of their look because you never know who you met. On the other hand if I am in BS mood I don’t share that so I take a sick day or a vacation day off. Happy Holidays and may your season be profitable.
Braintree ma to logan airport. 30 min ride. 14. 14 and take out a toll. People throw 50$ around to park a day. I told them all airport runs will be declined.
I just accept them all. Hartford. Once I accepted a “Chester” ride because it paid so well. It was Chester, PA, not Chester, CT. The state was cut off on the screen. I hurried down to PA, because I had to make it back for my airport reservations in Bridgeport, which cancelled due to my not being back in the 3 minute timeframe.
Every city is different..but for me.. I always pick the lowest paying short distance trips. 1. They keepe in the city ..where it's busy 2. They get me to my bonus quicker which is my #1 focus 3. They keep me sane ..which means I stay motivated to keep driving 4. They keep me in the city where we often have boost+ promotions throughout the day 5. They keep me in the city which Is most likely to have some good surges throughout the day. 6. I know my numbers..this strategy I always average $10 + per ride ..unless it's extremely slow. So on a 80 trips with a $200 bonus iake about $800 + $200 which is $1000 weekend And most of the time it's more. Not bad for some shtty rides
Would you do this where 95 percent of the passengers are in hood or sketchy areas. My market is full of foolish people. In the city I work at this is the majority of the bonus area. I have so many stories by drug runners and gangs people packing, car jacking setups. I have to report that at 3 out of 5 rides not safe pick ups.
@@allenwinston9225 no like any city, we have sketchy areas, but I'd be lying if I say I feel unsafe here .. I see stuff about places like Chicago, NOLA , Baltimore etc.. I wouldn't The reality about rideshare, it's not for every location.. It wouldn't make sense for me to do it if I lived in the suburbs, it's simply not busy enough. ..but to be fair to Uber and Lyft .. it's not on them to fix your city.
Has anyone figured out what the justification for this? I don’t see any reason to drive if I don’t know what the trip entails? Uber Eats show the full details?
Out of state rides should not affect our acceptance rate. 14 rides offered and 4 of them are over and hour drive is crazy! Two days in a row! My acceptance went from 97 to 93 in two days cause i declined out of state rides that take over an hour!
Let us know if you would accept or deny the rides and why in the comments below.

Uber thinks I'm running on solar panels
I have a Tesla and I charge it with my solar panels. lol
@@louiesamuel9189So you got your solar panels for free?
I use time as the way to calculate if I will do the ride or not. 2 miles down the highway and 2 miles through town are not the same but 10 mins is 10 mins no matter where you go (for the most part)
10 minutes on good, wide roads with heavy traffic is the best. unfortunately we don't have that kind of roads in Boston.
I drove for an hr before it started giving me the info I needed to make adventageous decisions on incoming ride requests
I was hoping to make $200-250 but made about $160 on a 4.5 hr round trip bc of the lack of upfront info by Pottsville PA. It wasn't great but was a learning experience. Hopefully, this info will help others in my market.
Oh that’s why I don’t see $ before accepting too! TEXAS
i drive in Pa and delaware i hate jersey but i get the upfront info
These are literally slavish fares even with surge.
I am just starting with Uber and have learned more from you two and this one video than from all the videos from Uber. Thank you so much. I am going out with a little bit of comfort and knowledge today!
This guys says no to a lot. How do he make any money if he says no all the time?
Im determined for now on call customers and ask them if they are going to NY or Penn. If they are, i just ask them to cancel. PERIOD. I called uber support over this issue about letting me know the duration of both picking up and dropping off customer, plus the amount. And uber keeps stonewalling me. I still don't see nothing. I have been calling them for 3 months and nothing
Don't waste your time they won't do it.
You have to be at a certain level of driver to see all that information.
You took an hr ride to return a backpack? I hope they paid you more than Uber's $20. No way I would do that without a large Venmo payment first.
@sergioSMTMC1 🥂
Then Uber throttles me
@@Adileigh23 what does that mean?
20 miles for $20 …. You are kidding right?? Gas alone is$4 …. Now you are at $16 …. Looks like you are “helping” Uber decide how LITTLE they will get away with paying the workers/drivers ….. Uber paying you?? Stupid games really …..
I love the people that think that charging cars at night using their solar panels means it's free... Paying $300 or $400 a month for your solar system, it's still paying.
@@SoloHiker1who pays that much for their solar panels? I am leasing my panels for $70/ month.
I'll take a $4 fare for a 2 mile or less ride.
I have had several $3 rides to adjacent towns.
I tried to stay within the perimeter of the money going to the pickup and pick up and drop off all that should be within that $4 or whatever it is
Lyft is using TUrbo bonus hours to push fares beneath my market's minimum fare of $4.12. I've seen rides at $3.50 offered as the base pay minus surge or other bonuses.
I take lower paying rides and then get tips to make up for it!
This is VERY helpful. I have been trying to include ALL factors and there is just not enough time. Doing time/per minute pay versus trying to tie in the mileage is great and excludes a time-consuming element that generally lasts too long ,,,, thank you .
Time is money
I can not stand the trip radar feature. I wish they would get rid of it
Exactly
it’s throwing popcorn out so the pigeons can eat
Update your app. Uber needs to give you that information by law
Like me, you are still on time and distance, not upfront pricing. I would love to get the actual pickup and destination in the initial offer, but not for their "ride goes to the lowest bidder" upfront scheme.
@@MarkMcInerney-i8f agreed. I like the time and distance rate card, but the lack of transparency is ridiculous.
@@veronicahoyos-leonard2459no they don’t. There is no law. My market is miles and minutes. Quite a few markets are.
Ready to pack it in again
@@tonyhernandez-fivestarreal1712 ya I hate it and I let them know every single time they ask me for a rating for the platform
@@tonyhernandez-fivestarreal1712 We have a rate card, rides are paid by time and distance. For me, it's $.83/mile and $.14/min
Accept a lower amount only if you want to go that direction anyway (final ride and heading home)
The word is "decline" not "deny". The ride is real, so you cannot deny it, but you can decline to take it.
Same here, Erica. I also focus on $2 per mile. I've trained that way for awhile since upfront pricing
14:26 how to turn Uber share ride to regular Uber X ride with no extra passengers just the one trip
Thank you Sergio I do this same thing when I get all Uber share rides
I smell an Uber/Lyft employee here. Taking everything is for idiots that dont like to make money and suck at math.
In New Jersey I can’t see the details that you are showing unless you are platinum or diamond
Chris, Sergio, this is an exercise to include at the end of each live stream. The final 10 minutes. Great Job!
Uber sending new requests while you are still driving and have a rider. They can wait until u complete that ride, then send a new request, a big safety hazard
Time is everything in my opinion. What am I making for the time I’m taking out of my day?

Bc Uber is evil
10 seconds to pick and if there is a surge bonus then the app cuts in to the base rate😂 truly is a fool’s gold to make a living doing laps around town this days
The Boone County Trash for Cash Program runs from April 1st through September 30th each year.

When l calculate the time l add extra 4 or 5 minutes specially if l am very close to the pick up location, and most of the time l get rides that pays 1 dollar per minute of my time
Huntsville, AL doesn’t have upfront earnings on Uber, but it does for Lyft.
North FL still not doing upfront earing
Has anyone evaluated the accuracy of Uber estimated pickup and ride times? What about driving at speed limit? If Uber dings us on exceeding speed limit, their estimates should be based on the speed limit and not the flow of traffic.
The information stays on the screen for less than 10 seconds, how do you analyze all that when you are on a ride and driving ?
To me, when it says “tip included”, I think it would be wise to go ahead and count your total as whatever minus the tip. Just to be safe
I'm going to give an easy answer. Know the area and traffic patterns and how people respond to different situations such as weather. I deal with this as a new driver but I've worked and went to school in Pittsburgh, PA.
We need this more than we like it. Please keep it up.
He'll I wish the offers you have,I would take in south carolina, the offers here are bad,why isn't all costs rhe same all over all states
@timetowakeup6302 so true,I have alot of screen shots I have takin, just to show the crap we are getting in sc
I love doing any uber ride on the 110 freeway, especially because i have fastrak and its free with 2 or more passengers :)
I go by the $30 dollar an hour rule. So that means if it’s 15 minutes, it better be $7.50 or higher or I reject it. It’s a quick way for me to judge with the short time we have to make a decision. If it says 30 minutes and it’s offering $14, it’s a no.
25 pings in 3 mins 😮😮😮 I don’t get 25 pings in a whole day wow!
Hello guys, I am a new Uber driver in New Jersey. I am not seeing the cost and where my rides are going until I pick up the passenger. Please let me know how to change this feature if it can be changed on my phone.
Same here
It's time for a strike. Did you see what Uber's stock price is YTD?
On the second example, I actually chose "Cash." I figured Inglewood is good since it puts you in a possible pickup area around SoFi Stadium/LAX. But it works out to be 47¢ per minute. Sergio says 65¢ minimum. The offer would have to be at minimum $24.70. Offer shown is $17.89.
Mine is blurry 😞
For every single ride they took 34% plus they take a fee for comercial insurance which is terrible in Minneapolis are
Only count at the end of the week, how much money you made for how long, those numbers tell you how much you made by hour, $ 20/hour, should be decent for me.
It's always time first, then miles. Unless I've been sitting forever, which has been the case a few times. But I agree, time, then miles.
@HMan621 4.7 or better for me; I noticed too that passengers with 4.6 or lower are a complete headache or problem makers
Mostly women worry about ratings. Males don't care.
Very interesting I have not even learned yet how to figure out what there reading system is I am so worried about looking at the distance and time and money in them little seconds that you have
passenger rating has nothing to do with the money, so it's a meaningless variable for me.
@scottkeller8890 Au contraire, grasshopper. Low rating = passengers that are more likely to:
1) make u wait longer at pickup
2) do things that lead to ride cancellation by you
3) add a stop after the initial ride has started
4) have difficult personalities that cause in-ride issues
5) not tip you
6) smell bad and/or damage/make a mess in your car
7) make false complaints about you that lead to your suspension or deactivation from the platform.

did I hear right if you take a Uber x share if you then swipe up and hit stop new request it is just a x ride with no extra stops
I work in the Tampa and Orlando area if I get a ride to the very north of what Tampa Bay is considered there's no business coming back to where the hot spots are going to be
In Orlando they are ALL cash. Orlando is terrible. Airport rides to Disney that are 23 miles pay only $12
Whats the deal with comfort rides thats a negative.... he said when talking about that 1st one being trash and he said "and its a comfort ride on top of that"
Longer wait times for pax
"each 15 minutes"?
Night time Vegas I mostly get my next ping as soon as the app sees where my current trip is dropping. I am nearly always trip-to trip-to trip-to trip. Unless a trip goes to the strip, then I kill requests til I can get away. Am not earning at 10 minutes per block.
Not a clear picture cant see distance
Just do the dollar per mile math and try to stack rewards

How do you know how many drivers are around your areas?
Need to consider the rating as well
Braintree ma to logan airport. 30 min ride. 14. 14 and take out a toll. People throw 50$ around to park a day. I told them all airport runs will be declined.
Uber is saying 33 dollar active hour what? Where? What does that mean?
Where do you see if an area has a high # of rides or not?
I’m glad I caught this episode
I just accept them all. Hartford. Once I accepted a “Chester” ride because it paid so well. It was Chester, PA, not Chester, CT. The state was cut off on the screen. I hurried down to PA, because I had to make it back for my airport reservations in Bridgeport, which cancelled due to my not being back in the 3 minute timeframe.
Accepting every ride just make the prices go down.
When was this and is it on I phone or Android because u have an android phone and I never see the payout
I see an Uber Share come up that's more than a 20 minute ride it gets declined.
Every city is different..but for me.. I always pick the lowest paying short distance trips.
1. They keepe in the city ..where it's busy
2. They get me to my bonus quicker which is my #1 focus
3. They keep me sane ..which means I stay motivated to keep driving
4. They keep me in the city where we often have boost+ promotions throughout the day
5. They keep me in the city which Is most likely to have some good surges throughout the day.
6. I know my numbers..this strategy I always average $10 + per ride ..unless it's extremely slow.
So on a 80 trips with a $200 bonus iake about $800 + $200 which is $1000 weekend
And most of the time it's more.
I wouldn't
The reality about rideshare, it's not for every location.. It wouldn't make sense for me to do it if I lived in the suburbs, it's simply not busy enough.
..but to be fair to Uber and Lyft .. it's not on them to fix your city.
I drive Uber in Chicago. What should you be your advice for me please ?
Meanwhile NYC suburbs still only see distance to pickup.... No idea of destination or pay. Literally driving blind
