This is honestly a genius business idea! I'm from the Midwest and was on the giving and receiving end of meal trains. I usually go with casseroles or lasagna and salad because it's a one-dish meal and easy to freeze and reheat. I moved to CA a year and a half ago and our neighbors aren't nearly as friendly. We've only met our immediate next door neighbors. However, I joined a church and a mom's Bible study. My mom was on the prayer list for her sick months of cancer treatment. When she passed I was so touched when the women who'd only known me six months set up a meal train, signed a card for me, and made me a prayer quilt! Not only was I grieving, but the two weeks after her death were filled with funeral planning, planning to travel back to Chicago where my mom would be buried, and clearing out her house to get on the market. Needless to say, grocery shopping and cooking were not at the forefront of my mind. Not only were the meals helpful in a practical way, but I was so touched and comforted by the kindness of these women I'd only known a short time. They all brought home cooked meals, but I wouldn't care if it was takeout or a service like this. I always want to sign up for meal trains, but my chronic illnesses make it hard to commit. I'd definitely use this service!

I’ve seen requests for hotdish and/or casserole recipes. One hardly knows where to start-there are more recipes than lakes in MN-but here’s a sort of customizable generic recipe . . .
Some kind of meat (ground beef, chopped chicken, organ meat, chopped hot dogs, tuna, etc.)
Some form of starch (spaghetti, macaroni, hash browns, tater tots, bread cubes, etc.)
    Vegetables (optional)
    Cheese (optional)
Enough cream soup (whatever’s in the pantry) to cover everything
Seasoning (usually _at least_ salt & pepper, maybe Mrs. Dash if you’re bringing to a heart patient)
Topping 1) crunchy (chow mein noodles, fried onions, bread crumbs, etc.) 2) cheese
This is just a suggestion. You know what’s in your pantry better than I do.

When I was a bartender at a restaurant, I always tried to suggest a to-go meal if they knew of anyone in need or someone that lost a loved one. It never worked, but suggesting a to-go meal is definitely a way to increase the tip.

    2. We just saw inside Neighbor's house people! 🤯 3. This could actually become a very profitable business, at least where I live, and whoever heard of a hot dish?! 4. Can you eat casseroles after a ruptured appendix 🤔
And 5. Penn keeps his recorder with him while he irons 4:18 🤭I LOVE these people! 🥰

As someone who's lived in the midwest my entire life, I find this hilarious. All the Midwest stereotypes crack me up because most of them are true. Although idk where the stereotype accent came from. But it still makes me laugh 😆

No! Casseroles are not as welcome as many think. There ends up being so many that have to be frozen and then the freezers can't cope with the amount. Giving food is a great idea for those spending endless hours at a hospital and are too tired to cook themselves late at night, yet all that's required is something simple such as a platter of sandwiches or nutritional frozen meals. Just send your dearest, nutty neighbour to visit the patient instead, which will make their day! I know that I would have loved to be visited by one who always makes me laugh when I had a serious stint in hospital. I simply adore her!!🇦🇺💖🕊

You making shirts with a cricut and htv vinyl? If so, iron directly on the vinyl plastic, hold for 15 to 30 seconds and peel warm (depending on the type of vinyl you use), helps to wash the shirt first too. Saw the tag on it so it looked new.

Apparently the 5 years my family lived in the upper Midwest in the 70's was not long enough to turn us Easterners into casserole/hot dish folks. However, I won't pass up trying one at a church pot luck. When I had scheduled surgeries in the past, I made food ahead of time, in case the care packages did arrive vis Dasharrole.
