Granny , Mom and I always canned everything together. Mom always shook her head at granny and I ! As we were snapping the washed green beans we were eating them !!! 😂Great memories!!! I miss my granny so much !!! I will see her again when I get to heaven !!! ❤ Thanks for bringing a wonderful memory back to my mind !!! God bless !

Eating them while snapping them is the best part. My mom would do it to but she put a limit on both of us so we would have enough cooked ones to eat 😂

I love canning and more specifically, your canning videos! Thank you for providing thoughtful, wholesome and family griendly content. I also follow true crime and of course it gets toxic. Your videos give me an excellent break from that and sometimes make me want to leave the true crime community in the dust!

I remember canning snap peas, I think we as a group bottled 140 or so one day. These days I'm happy to bottle 20 pints. We just don't seem to need as much. Although there's nothing like fresh home made dill pickles. Thank you for the post!

Watched your video last night then decided I was too tired to leave a comment so left it for morning and forgot. 🙄
I'm with everyone else - I just love watching your canning videos. Apparently, so does Weston. He just watches and takes it all in. Once he's big enough to reach things standing on a chair, he's gonna take over the process. He'll have it down pat by then! 😂
Those tomatoes were real beauties, too! Your neighboring farmers are definitely saving their best of what they know you want, just for you!
    Till next week, Amy! 🩷

I'd have to do the cold pack method. I have a deep fear of pressure cookers and someone's daughter I know had a bad burn accident. The thing exploded. I just know I'd mess it up and not do it right and the same thing would happen to me. But you go ahead. 😂 Looks good. 👍👍 Can't wait to see a video of the new kitchen.

I used to can my own jam. I am familiar with water bath canning. I enjoyed it, but all of my canning jars got broken in a move. So, I haven't made jam in years. It was nice when I did it, though.

And the added joy of seeing your family enjoy the literal fruits of your labors. Life is short - we need to enjoy as many of the simple, innocent pleasures it has to offer while we can! 🩷

That looks like so much fun. I kick myself for not learning this trade while my Gran was still alive. If I wanted tomatoes for winter soups and haven’t invested in canning supplies, how well do they freeze? Skin on or peeled? Whole or diced?

Thanks for sharing Amy. I will be canning some fresh (uncooked) salsa this weekend and my mother said I needed to be sure to warm my salsa before I can it. I asked her if room temperature would be fine and she said no. But I think it should be okay. It looked like your salsa was room temp when you canned it (other video). Is that correct? Thanks in advance for any advice you have.

loved the salsa...just a quick question on the green beans, did you de-bubble them? I thought when you can them they need to be de-bubbled because of all the gas they produce.
