i just rewatched the season 1 episode that ends with a food fight, spoofing a college movie with the “where are they now” freeze frames. britta’s was “proud owner of a used ipod nano, 2014”. the writers really did a good job with this.
The present Jef got was actually really satisfying. It was the first drink they ever had together back in Seasson 1 episode 2 and it was the first time for Pierce after Jef decided to participate in Pierce spanish "Act" that someone did something nice not to gain some of his wealth but because he thought of something good in Pierce.
I feel like this was Dan Harmon's way of sending off Donald Glover right. Implying that he is moving on to pursue his true calling and greater things while also acknowledging that he will be missed dearly

It’s a shame Chevy Chase didn’t get along with Dan because Pierce, the character, added a lot to the table. When I show people who never seen community before, they gravitate towards Pierce. Maybe it’s because Pierce was like them. Clueless, the jokes go over your head, and straight savage sometimes. Nonetheless when it comes too Pierce, he was damn sure streets ahead and I didn’t realize soon enough...I guess I was just streets behind.

Yeah i think that Dan make a great job doing Pierce, cos at first you think he is a product of his time racist but later you discovered that actually he was racist because he was Physically and mentally abused by his parents, that's when you start feel pity and empathy for him

It’s crazy how you go through so many emotions in this clip. Everytime I watch it I just feel empty at the end because I know it was beginning of the end and literally the next episode was his good bye. Troy was an amazing part of the group and will always be part of the community. Definitely my favourite sitcom of all time.
The writing in this episode was truly something special. How it navigated through and unveiled everybody's past using a lie detector as a plot device - only to finish the scene with Abed's heartbreaking COOL COOL COOL - and then a final "That's a lie". - UTTER BRILLIANCE.
I think one of the biggest hurdles for making a Community movie is bringing back Troy and Pierce. Donald Glover is crazy expensive to cast and Chevy Chase didn't really leave the show on the best of terms... one can dream though.

I really cried during this scene. It was a very heartwarming piece and it showed that Pierce, even though the group exclude him once in a while, care about his friends. I was even cracking up whenever the cylinder appears 😂
i was kinda sad Gilbert (Pierce's half-brother) wasn't involved in the episode or being the one doing the polygraphy test. or that at least he was mentioned in pierce's will for something kinda cheesy or unexpected (alongside the obligatory sperm tube) like pierce was leaving to Gilbert "his spot in his Greendale Study Group family, and that he hopes we will find a family in them like he found one with them" or something like that. that the polygraphy test was pierce's weird way to show his greendale family to his half-brother and that if they accept each other for who they are, Gilbert will easily fit Especially if this was also followed by a typical pierce joke of "that way, the group finally gets that hispanic element Britta always talked about. Pierce Out!" and is followed by rap, much like how Pierce's mom ended her final message to him

I think it was mostly an admission of weakness. Saying that he was a failed hero his entire adulthood is not really giving himself a pat on the back. By this point, Pierce had abandoned the idea that he had any heroism remaining within himself. 'Hero' was an empty label.

And we just heard what Pierce thought of Troy. Does that make him his co-favorite? The Son that Pierce always wished he had?
The fact that when he gives the sperm to britta, he mentions the hypervirility, somerthing pierce said in the second chapter of the first season is amazing
It also in terms of dirty old men seems like a really sweet gift to give a girl like her. I can picture the character Pierce planning the gift for her specifically and thoughtfully - but for the others as "so Brita feels less weird" and/or "because it's funny and I have money".
We deserve a spin-off of Troy and Lavar Burton wandering the world, and making money enough to get to their next destination through problem solving and ac repair

Pierce WANTED to live with Troy, enjoyed every second of it, and was heartbroken when Troy left. Hell, it pretty much preceded Pierce's villain turn when Troy left.
And we just heard what Pierce thought of Troy.

I think Troy reminded Pierce of himself and Jeff was who he wanted to be like.
The fact that when he gives the sperm to britta, he mentions the hypervirility, somerthing pierce said in the second chapter of the first season is amazing
It also in terms of dirty old men seems like a really sweet gift to give a girl like her. I can picture the character Pierce planning the gift for her specifically and thoughtfully - but for the others as "so Brita feels less weird" and/or "because it's funny and I have money".
I like how Troy was sailing away in a boat called the Childish Tycoon, and Donald Glover left the cast to pursue a music career as Childish Gambino
