    Great video. Just one thought... if your original waistband was 1inch too big, haven’t you just reduced the pattern piece too much? If the pattern piece is to be placed on the fold, you will lose 2 inches from the new waist band? Hope that makes sense😳😀

    • @HandmadeByDitsyTulip
      @HandmadeByDitsyTulip  6 лет назад +1

      Ruth E Hi Ruth ☺️ no sorrybit was 1” from each side that I needed to take in, so 2” in total, sorry if that wasn’t clear x

    • @ruthe8095
      @ruthe8095 6 лет назад +1

      Got it, thank you. Just didn’t want your waistband to be too small!

    How do you know if you have a sway back? Lol I assume I have because I have African heritage in the back 😉 and a smaller waist 🤣🤣🤣 xx

  • @hoppaheedahoe2581
    @hoppaheedahoe2581 6 лет назад +2

    Why did you not cut the legs on folded material? Was this suggested in the pattern and why? Thanks

    • @HandmadeByDitsyTulip
      @HandmadeByDitsyTulip  6 лет назад +3

      Patricia Rainey hi Patricia, you can cut on the fold but you then run the risk of having twisted legs due to the twill fabric construction, it takes a little longer to cut out, but in my opinion worth it for reducing the risk of twisted legs ☺️it does give you more info about this in the instructions or the online class

    • @HandmadeByDitsyTulip
      @HandmadeByDitsyTulip  6 лет назад +2

      Sharon Williams hi Sharon, it will be coming, first my Overlocker went to heaven so I had to wait to get a replacement, and then it’s been too damn hot for jeans so the summer dresses and cami’s sneaked ahead of them 😳 I will crack on with them soon though ☺️

    • @shazratuk

      Thanks for the quick reply. I have the pattern and all the bits which is why I was asking ..... will wait patiently! Lol

    Just wondering how the designer feels about you making this video series when she designed these jeans pattern and sells a video on how to make them? Which I purchased and a lot of your tidbits seam straight from her video.
    Just a thought.

    • @HandmadeByDitsyTulip
      @HandmadeByDitsyTulip  6 лет назад

      sweetp1015 hi there, sewing techniques are not under copyright as they are techniques that are widely available, used and taught in a variety of methods eg the pattern designer will not have designed a technique to sew their garment, they have designed the pattern eg using a quilting ruler to check that you are on grain with the pattern piece is a widely known technique, the method to fix a sway back is also a widely known technique with loads on videos available on RUclips on how to do this. I am trying to encourage people to buy a jeans pattern by seeing that it is not a difficult garment to make and hopefully that will lead to lots more purchases of the pattern. So thankyou for showing your concern but please remember that I am in no way trying to make any gain for myself here, I do not charge for my videos, I don’t even have advertising switched on, I am purely trying to inspire people to try things that they wouldn’t ordinarily try. I also hope that you can see from my videos that I absolutely support pattern designers, always encourage people to try patterns if I have used it and enjoyed it, sharing what I love about their designs. I hope that this clears up my intentions
