Alucard is the somewhat smart cocky and reasonable one just enjoying what’s happening
Belmont is just stupid but the funny type which the plot and we love he can enter some of the most dangerous situations and he can get folded but still survive.

I thought this would be the only 3 minutes where they were competent. I mean, the series went about 6 hours, so at an expected ratio of 100:1, 3 minutes total of competence sounded about right...
