- Hardcore Chugging and Smoking Diesel Locomotives ALCo (American Locomotive Company ) erupting like Volcanoes.
I am sure a lot of people will not like to see these Polluting Locomotives considering the environmental crisis but these are the Class of Locos that has served the Indian Railways for more than half a century now after the end of the Steam Locomotive Era. These Locomotives are quickly being replaced by the High End , fuel efficient Electromotive Diesels (EMD) and we will miss the ALCo's really bad.
The Loco classes captured in the Video are WDM-2 , WDM-3A , WDM-3D & WDG-3A. This is a compilation of some of the nastily smoking Locomotives some may really require a major overhaul while some seem to behave the way they are expected to work.
ALCO's any day are a treat to watch for a Rail fan's eye, starting from a cranking to a notching to a chugging to a honking and the acceleration, the mechanism of a ALCo just ROCKS.
So here comes a massive treat to the ALCo buffs !

...all the way, really love the whine sound of the blowers and dont smoke 10th of an Alco. HAHA..I feel sorry for the people riding in the coaches, choking on the Alco smoke. I like watching the Alco's throttling up; but im an GM-EMD fan much more. Cheers from very cold Canada
They REALLY just need a new paint job and a big overhaul or refurbish program and Indian Railways could expand their lifespan. But if you think about it you could see tons of preservation programs popping up in India.
Actually all ALCO's are in the process of getting replaced by Electric Locos like WAP-5 and WAP-7.By 2025,most of the trains running in India will be electric.Even today electric routes handle about 50% of India's rail traffic.We are going to push it to 90%+ by 2025.Good for environment and also saves money for the railways ministry

What a smoking
Just a question fellow Railfans, if there is electrification why do you still use diesel?
Cause u electrified routes exists
Because some tracks are not possible to electrify
Even though it's preferred to have electrification, for strategic reasons a percentage of diesels are maintained in working condition, and we are still only 80 percentage electrified, so we need diesels anyway for the 20 percent

Our cars are fuel efficient. so our diesel locos should always be fuel efficient.DLW should focus more in fuel efficiency by huge R&D done.Our loco pilots should refuse driving these diesel wasting loco.
