That's way over the top extreme. Just as we should be understanding of someone with mental illness needs, we should also be understanding of someone having a very stressful day or very difficult day dealing with their emotions..We may think someone needs improvement on their reactions, of course, but unless we know ALL the facts of what has happened, we can't just throw out a judgement like that so flippant that a person should loose their career of 8 years of schooling because of a smirk, not even a mean comment, but a smirk. I understand your initial anger, but sometimes with everyone being on camera it's easy to pick people apart. Sometimes it's very justified but sometimes it doesn't warrant the reaction we have either... I'm glad she got help and actually is taking her meds which she needs to continue to do if it helps her. She now has a new attorney that is probably needed but he is dealing with someone who is doing well on her medication too.

This case is a prime example of Boyd keeping her word. The woman was half crazy and not lucid at all. The defendant was adamant about seeing Boyd and talking with her and Boyd did the best she could for her. Judge Boys may be strict but she’s so compassionate with her defendants. She could have had the woman thrown in jail for contempt and been convicted of a much harsher sentence but Boyd knows it’s a mental health problem with her self medicating with illegal drugs.

Judge Boyd handled this very well, so kind, the first lawyer needs to take a good look at his facial expressions , they appear condescending

Judge Boyd gave this poor lady Isabelle a few minutes to just talk. It likely felt really nice being heard. Especially being heard by an important woman like Judge Boyd. Isabelle was beaming when she saw Judge Boyd on the 2nd appearance.

I agree the first lawyer needs to have alot more control over his emotions and facial reactions. He needs more understanding when dealing with a client and learning what is going on. Im not sure if he realizes she needs mental help or thinks she is just being difficult but he should of taken the time to find out for sure. I think the 2nd attorney is who the client needs for her attorney. I also believe judge boyd is doing whats in the best interest of the plantiff. She is concerned for her and compassionate. She definitely needed mental help. After seeing a Dr she is now on the medication she needs. What difference it can make. I dont know if her history shows she was ever treated for mentall illness before. If she was and stopped taking her meds it could of led to her reaction in the courtroom which sometimes people feel better, stop taking their meds and then are back to the same mental problems again. I hope she stays doing what her Dr shows she needs bless her heart. She is so happy after seeing Drs and getting what she needs. The 2nd attorney seems to understand what is going on in her life more.

I truly love Judge Boyd because of the person she is! I believe she is a fair Judge. She treats everyone as an individual which is so important instead of classifying people as a group.
Judge Boyd clearly recognized this defendant as a person first who needed immediate mental health care. I love that! She allowed her to speak without being rude and constantly asking her to be quiet. Judge Boyd listened for the times when she could speak to her and actually have a conversation even though she was in a bit of a crisis.
I am praying for this lady that she can gain control of her mental health and be able to have a permanent home and just that her life changes in every aspect for the better! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I pray for Judge Boyd that she continues to manage her courtroom as she does and she continues to treat everyone as an individual and not a statistic or a class of people or group of people. I pray she continues to make sound decisions. I pray she continues to want the best for all those who come into her courtroom. I pray she continues to give them the tools they need to be successful in every way. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Why is her lawyer grinning like an idiot? He's disgusting. The judge should hold him in contempt.

Her lawyer has the look on his face that says "No explanation needed."
