    Your patio is so relaxing Sue😊 love the pots you replanted today. I noticed that your orange tree is full of fruit. Are they ripe this time of year there? Really enjoyed the video❤

      Thank you Laura. Yes, my oranges ripen usually between the end of December and January. This year they are really juicy and sweet. It is a navel orange tree.

    Hi Sue, I’m glad i came across your channel our videos are a lot alike relaxing. ☺️ I would recommend putting more grit in your mix the soil will hold to much moisture around the roots even though it’s succulent soil especially if it gets rained on. I usually do 80% bonsai jack grit to 20% cactus soil. That is just my experience though and only a suggestion for you.

      Thanks for the tips! I agree, I do need to add more grit into my soil. Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment. It is much appreciated! 😎

    Hi Sue! Glad I happened upon your channel! I’m receiving a few more monkeys for my own monkey via Etsy. Looking how to incorporate them into my pot. Thank you for the video!
    I was wondering what that fluffy, flat eared, vine like succulent you had up there was. I love it!!

      Thank you so much for watching my video! I’m glad you found my channel. As far as the succulent that was hanging up near the monkey tail, unfortunately I don’t know the name of it. I wish I did. Thanks for watching and take care.

    I watched all last year when you were planting all these succulents and it looks like they have been a huge success. I’m so jealous of your weather! Where did you get those pots? Also, your jeans are very cute!

      Thanks Brenda. Southern California is the one of the best places to grow succulents. I purchased some of my Talavera and other pots at Home Goods. Some of the others I picked up at various nurseries and garden centers.

    Love your garden! Absolutely stunning!! Do you have any tips on how to handle etiolation? I got a monkeytail for my birthday and was very excited, however it's been growing upwards and I'm not sure how to get it to trail. Thank you!! Love the content! - Note: I did try placing it outside a little bit ago, but it got a bit sunburnt!

      Eventually the monkey tail will trail over the sides of the pot. When you put your plant outside, keep it in the shade. If you keep it indoors, put it in front of a very sunny window or use grow lights.

    May I offer advice if you slow down your filmmaking it will be a lot easier on your viewers eyes. Kinda makes me dizzy. Love your plants. I’m also in southern California zone 9b. I’ve lost two cacti because of the “Pineapple Express “ storm.

    How do you get it to bloom? 😊

    • @seniorsuecacti
      @seniorsuecacti  5 месяцев назад +1

      I have had my monkey tail for about 18 months and it has not yet bloomed. I read that monkey tail plants are more likely to bloom if you keep the cactus outdoors. Bright morning sun is best. I am hoping that I will get some blooms this summer. Good luck to you! 😎

      @@beverlysullivan1427IDo you fertilize your monkey tail? I recently fertilized mine with tomato fertilizer, mixed at half strength. I plan to fertilize it once a month throughout the summer. I am hoping it will bloom.
