Dude, I know both Cubase and Logic. Cubase is way more feature rich and also more efficient. Understand its more intimidating, yes. You can safely switchover.
I use Nuendo (the larger Cubase with more features). In post-production there are a few functions such as naming events according to Excel lists and export the files (for example 1000 audioevents) with these names. If the work mainly consists of rendering processes, Cubase Pro/Nuendo is unbeatable because the rendering runs in the background and every setting of the rendered audio can be changed again later. You can continue working on everything in parallel while the rendering processes are running in the background.
On the Sends you should try toggling the On/Off above the Sends level. Shift and select your tracks and click the Q-Link button on top to do multi track changes. Looking for delete? You right clicked and looked for delete track, Remove selected track does that. I think in your hurry to do things you just missed things out.
1) "How do you delete a track???" Your mouse is literally hovering over the "Remove selected tracks" option in the menu 2) How to control multiple track's via a single volume slider (several different ways, here's two): (a) select multiple tracks, right click Link Tracks -> Use VCA fader (b) or select channels, right click -> add VCA fader for selected channels 3) How to send multiple tracks to an fx bus (several different ways): (a) select tracks, right click, new FX channel to selected tracks (if it's a new BUS). (b) If it's an existing BUS you can select tracks, press shift-option/alt, assign one of them to the fx bus. (c) Or select channels, link selected channels (check to link "Sends"), add the bus to the sends of one. 4) Why the Reverb wasn't getting any input when you added it as send to all those tracks initially? Because you haven't activated the sends on any track. Hover over the send controls and click its button on the top left (looks like a stylized knob). This turns the send bus on for the track. Dudes, just need some basic curiosity. Everytime I see one of those "X uses tries Y DAW" it's like these people it never occurs to people to right click to see options, when they open a menu they never see what they want starring them in the face (like here "FX channel to selected channels..."), never occurs to them to try option/cmd or alt/ctrl clicking anything, they never press very promiment buttons to see what they do (e.g. the track channel window here) and so on...
Thanks for the comment! Since Cubase and Logic are very different programs, there is clearly a lot of learning I still need to do to become adept at it. I'll have to give your methods a try.
You are aware that aoart from the track count Pro has more features right? you might get the wrong experience by limiting yourself to this version. I'm on Logic, tried some elements as well. Ended up getting Digitla PErforming because: 1, I want it for score to film and 2, when I was making the decision Steinberg decided to launch their v13 and didn't launch the traditional 40% discount on december. But MOTU did Haha so I got DP but I'm always looking at Cubase still.. Will you continue with Cubase?
This is true, however, my justification for Elements is that I don't do enough production anymore to need all the features (I'm doing so much more performing than producing these days). So I could probably live off a limited feature set for awhile. I'm not sure what I will end up doing, but I'm keeping an eye on Windows laptops (decently powerful ones). So if I do end up trading in my MacBook, I will likely also buy Cubase Elements. If my plan succeeds, I will certainly make a video about it.
ha ha, nice watching "me" 25 years ago first try with Cubase😂 much you have to learn young cubase student 😇😎 Cubase Pro 13 is the very best DAW for everything you can imagine, expect for life looping like Ableton or Bitwig. But well done job with your first try! I have the same issue with Logic Pro, I have a 2020 Mac Pro and this is a shame for apple, that we can not use 100% of the Logic Pro 11 on a over 10k MAC Pro that is only 4 years old.
Right! I'd say Cubase's basic features were easy to figure out fairly quickly, which is good. Logic has indeed become a bit of a mess. I'd argue that the last good version of Logic was 10.4. After that, downhill it went...
I will likely use Elements until I need the functionality of Pro. Right now, I am not doing a lot of production, so I only need basic features at this point. That's my justification for not needing Pro right now.
You're definitely a newbie 😁 recommend you to watch some basic tutorials because theres an actual easy workflow for all that you did in this video i recommend you to get more time to try elements before you try pro but believe me ones you master cubase i recommend you buying pro you really will love all features and workflow over logic
I switched to logic from Cubase
Gotcha! How come?
@thenetworkmystery it felt more efficient for me. Also I use Mainstage/sundaysounds for keys.
Was thinking of the same. Cubase is kinda shaky on Mac lately.

Good to know!!

I don't think I need that at the moment, but when I need the functionality of Pro, I'll likely get it.

Gotcha, this solves most of my problems. Thank you!

@@thenetworkmystery ah of course, if this is what you need, you need to test that indeed. Best of luck!

@@thenetworkmystery agree, 10.4 was ok. For me Cubase first, second Bitwig for live setting and loops
I would really go for pro, not elements. And yeah cubase really is more complicated than it needs to be in some instances.

Yep, I'd never used the software before recording this video, so it was certainly a new experience!
