    Hey man I have been looking at getting a truck just like this. I currently have a 5.3 in mine and have seen people complaining about having to put premium fuel because it has a 6.2. I have had people say you don’t have to out premium in it. What is your take on that and what do you do with your truck? Thanks!

    • @manvsmachine7279
      @manvsmachine7279  3 года назад +3

      I only run 93 octane in mine. When I first bought it I accidentally put 89 octane in it and it ran fine but the fuel mileage dropped quite a bit. Putting premium fuel in the 6.2L kind of pays for itself because of the good mileage it gets on Premium fuel. The power difference between the 5.3 and the 6.2 is a pretty big difference and in my opinion is totally worth it.

      My 2017 Silverado with 8 speed trans. shifts hard! Clunks, is a more accurate description. I took it to the dealer and they said GM was aware but did not have a fix for it yet and that they'd contact me when they did. Well, they never contacted me and soon after my warranty expired. I've changed the fluid twice, at my own expense, because it was black in color instead of red. This did not resolve the issue. I'm anticipating that I will have to replace the transmission at some point in the near future.☹

      Mine was doing this too. Took it to dealer several times they kept saying it was fine. Of course warranty went out and it got worse, took it in again to be looked at and they told me there was shavings in the pan. Basically told me it was shot and you need a new transmission. UGH. $7,000 for that unless you go to AAMCO and i got it for $5,000 there. As soon as i did that then the injectors went out that was $2,500 and got it back then 2 DAYS later crank shaft sensor is out now. This truck is a POS and i will never own another one.@@jimsitaras7612
