Thanks for posting. This is the comparison I was hoping to find. The Vibro Champ is calling me. I have been interested in some of the speaker changes shown in other vids for this amp which make big changes.
I actually prefer the sound of the new reissue vibro champs then the originals. Originals can sound a bit tiny. Maybe that’s why people swap out speakers in the old ones. New one has 10 inch and reverb and sounds bigger with more bass.
Would love it if someone started offering a hand wiring service for the vibro champ. I'd probably have mine done. The problem though is that they'd have to figure out how to retain the digital reverb chip in the circuit which probably would be a complex mod and/or drive the cost way up. I suppose they could eliminate the reverb function altogether, but I think that would be a deal breaker for me...the excellent sounding reverb is one of the reasons to get one of these reissue fender amps.
@@windsweptguitars I actually offered my amp up for the guy to figure out the design as long as a) I got the mod for nothing or b) he was able to restore the amp if he couldn't figure out the mod. As expected, he declined. If it came down to it, I might not have actually sent it to him, but it never got to a decision point.
great review. i have the superchamp x2, regular edition. i saw a vibrochamp for sale locally for $600. Wondering if i should pick it up and sell the superchamp or stick with the superchamp.
I was looking at this same amp for some time for it's beautiful cleans. Ended up going with a Vox AC4HW. Perhaps one day i'll get the Fender. Love the small amps! Good vid!
funny... it`s the same with me. I also play a Vox AC4HW since years. I love and hate this amp. I love it for it`s dirty Vox-Tone but I really miss a beautiful clean tone....
yeah when reviewers talk about 10-20 watt tube amps like there just right as rain for home use its ridiculous.I mean you could use em at home of course if you wanted, but you're not gonna get natural break up at friendly levels.I have 1/5 watt and a 7/15 watt amp and cranking them is out of the question.
At 799 made in Mexico. That would be 1200 plus if made in America. Great bedroom amp and for small gigs or larger gig miced up , but had they had been made in USA nobody would buy a 5 watt amp for that price surely ? . However beautiful it sounds. You’d rather save the extra money and go for a fender 15 or 20 watt more versatility. Anyways nice hear your amps 👍🏼
That strat ran here in NYC with Guitar Center. The quality of it is amazing for the price they were letting it go for, and it has a great seafoam pearl green finish. Got one and just ordered the 68 vibro champ. Live in an apartment - I also have the XD. ... Moth balls anyone?
What amp is under the Princeton? Also, what amp is under the Marshall, is that a Bugera? I've never seen one that color. Is it green or blue? It's kind of hard to tell. :)
Definitely a Princeton and a blues/rock pedal, a Nobles ORD-1 or Tube Screamer…. Now that said. The Vibro Champ Reverb has a great distortion at low volume.
@@windsweptguitars I feel the fender 68 custom vibro champ more close to surf music ( Beach Boys) than blues music. I like so much the compact size of the Vibro, I would like Fender '65 Princeton Reverb with the same size. I hope you do a demo of the fender 68 custom vibro champ playing blues. :)
@chippschippendale …Anderson’s have got them in £799 had them in for some time 👍🏼 and GAK for about £769 I think .. Still think they’re a bit overpriced.

Thank you for the Demo !
Kind of hard to want a VC after hearing the Princeton back to back here
I've really enjoyed listening to you, cheers. The video convinced me to go for the vibrochamp.
The Princeton sounds gorgeous!
It was my desert island amp….. then I got. ‘63 Deluxe…..
Wow. great collection. love to see more. Played Fender before. Playing Peavey these days.
Cheers!

Just picked one up today for recording…I love it!
Plus, the Vibro Champ Reverb has a blue jewel... I love mine.
I have the VCR which I love but goddamn that Princeton sounds amazing.

Love those burgundy Fenders! super fab!
You shouldn't assume that only men watch gear reviews.
You are right. And on that I apologize. That being said my analytics show 100% male viewership…. You are an amazing unicorn….
Another female viewer here! And I agree, that comment bummed me out. My RUclips watch history is full of gear reviews… we’re out there 😬
@@lunar.rocker well, I did apologize, not much more I can do.
@@lunar.rocker tbh.. I thought he was being self deprecating. That women wouldn’t want to watch He HIM, not guitar vids 🤷🏻♂️

Nice video

The reason I am looking is I had a Princeton and it was just too loud at a volume that the amp needs to be at to provide quality sound.
This is a very good choice. It is a fantastic bedroom lamp

Got mine yesterday. Wish I had bought it when it first came out - would have saved thousands by not buying other amps .
Can deal over drives , big muffs?

Hey man, how does the 68 Vibro compare to the Super Champ? Trying to decide if the 68 is worth getting.
A vintage 68 vibro champ had a opto coupler I think. Not a tube controled mains bias .
the super champ sounded best here, very transparent/smooth top-end...the other amps had these icepicky high-end which sounds like a cheap 70s SS amp

Nice blathering. We can't even buy them in the UK yet, they're still waiting for stock in most places
I had to wait for mine. Had an order in at Sweetwater for 2 months. Waited 4 months for the Les Paul Special behind the amp in the picture
