My favorite questline that stuck with me the most. The way Corhyn was in despair towards the end, how Goldmask turned out, the outfit...everything is perfect. I wish they flushed it out more. Heck, they should make an expansion out of this entire questline and delve into the Golden Order lore.
This quest line in particular felt very GRR Martin to me. They way Corhyn fauns over Goldmask, the Radagon/Marika twist, the betrayal that Corhyn feels…there’s just something very Game of Thrones about it to me. I’m pretty sure Corhyn killed Goldmask and then went crazy and killed himself. But that’s just my guess.
Actually, at some point you can kill brothet corhyn before goldmask's desth, and goldmask will still die. I dont remember the exact steps or when you can kill corhyn. And you can still get the mending rune from goldmask in the same way, and he dies the same way, even if corhyn is dead, meaning corhyn couldn't be the killer. I mean, its possible its an oversight, and they didn't predict people would kill corhen partway through the quest, but if not, it shows corhyn isn't a killer.
Thx for the video. one little thing at the end though. the mask of his armor set is NOT at the gold masks death location, but instead in altus platau on the broken bridge where we first meet Goldmask, just slightly more south on the second broken bridge part.
if you are like me and couldnt remember how far you made it into the questline but remember not finishing it and you already beat maliketh, check north of the altus highway junction site of grace and go to where you collect the map piece. His bearing was sitting right by it for me.
The video skips over it, but you can't really make that jump. You turn right, go outside, hang a left, and jump on the roof of the building. Go in the open window, hop down, and you'll be on the other side of the root. Turn left again, and you can hop up easily and get the Principia.
There is more to the quest line on the new update after the maliketh. In leyndell, he is so much distress that he dies after you exhausted his dialogue and you can pick up his bell.
Not quite everything! If you return to Altus Plateau (Road of Iniquity Side Path Grace is nearest) after Gold Mask dies you can pick up the Radiant Gold Mask from the collapsed bridge and complete his armour set 👍.
I went to the bridge after telling corhinn about goldmask whereabouts and he just dropped his armour and bell bearing, I inherited frenzied flame, is this why
I may be very late 😅...... but for those who struggle to make the jump onto the root, you can more easliy make the jump if you equip Golden slam ashes of war and use it strait forward from the railing! ^^
@viktorreznov5685 it saves like 15 seconds. All you have to do when you're up there is go through the doorway and jump in a broken window on your left
You gotta love how we run around the map trying to find pieces of medallions or defeating bosses to unlock these areas. Npcs like Corhyn, Millicent, Shabriri/Yura all magically just appear up North.
So I followed the quest line but for some reason Corhyn isn't on the bridge. Was told he can be found in the Capital of Ash but can't find him there either. Of course I find him as soon as i post this. For anyone that can't find him on the bridge, I guess because you didn't give him the memory potion, he can be found in the Capital of Ash. From the grace in the Capital of Ash go South toward the golden spear.
The Golden Order Principia is most likely based on old Latin texts (Principia Mathematica, for example) so, classically, it would be pronounced "Prin-Chee-Pia."

I’m pretty drained after doing Ranni’s questline more than once, multiple Ages of Fracture, and Frenzied Flame ending for my first playthrough. I’ve also set up Prince of Death twice only to pick something else for a trophy, which was Ranni’s ending first time I got it on Journey 3 I think 😮💨

I burned the Erdtree and went back to the last place Corhyn and Goldmask were at the capital. They were gone and corhyn’s equipment and bellbearing were laying on the ground. Without doing the rest of the quest will I still get the alternate ending?

I skipped this quest with my faith build. I worked too hard to get his stats the way I wanted and I'd rather save my larval tears for changes I want. He would look odd in Gold mask armor anyway. I'm doing this quest with my mage.
Hey Dom, did you stop making the Questline videos? I think Boc's and Nepheli's/Seluvis' Questlines are the 2 that stand out in how easy they are to fail.

I don’t think this works on ng+ I did everything right I was up to the fight with malkieth but I knew that if I beat malkeith then I would be locked out of the questline so I did everything up to the bit with the regression spell I used that everything fine went back and goldmask had acquired the magical ability of being invisible and brother whatever his name was was dead by the colosseum where you can 1v1 other online players
You get to choose which ending you want to get. The only ending that is not optional is the frenzied flame ending. Once you set that one in motion, it’s locked in unless you take very specific actions to counter it.
@@ICECREAMane1017 what I meant (a full year ago, wow) was that with the other endings you literally choose at the end of the game, but if you go down the path to the frenzied flame ending, you do not get to choose. That will be your ending no matter what. The only way to stop that from happening is to find the alloyed gold needle, go to the optional boss fight against Placidusax, and use the allowed gold needle on yourself to purify yourself. If you do that, you will no longer be locked in to the frenzied flame ending. But it also won’t be an option at all. So yes, you’re either locked into getting the frenzied flame ending, or you won’t get it at all, and you have to perform some very specific tasks to become un-locked from the ending.
Does it mess the quest up if you kill maliketh before seeing them on the bridge in the mountain top?. Because I got to the bridge and there were two dead bodies and a somber stone 9. Or maybe because I burned myself to get the frenzied flame ending I’m not sure exactly what went wrong lol. Awesome videos tho as always
This quest felt such a waste, could have been much more, was literally go here talk to the human sunflower nip back to coryn, find sunflower man again pop spell nip back some more hide and seek tada quest complete. Pointless.

Coryhn or Goldmask aren't at any of these locations, the Capital is under ash so I can't use the incantation. I desperately want this gesture though so I'm about to start NG+4 just to get the Golden Order Tranquillity gesture! haha! Great video otherwise, thanks for the help.

I was able to do it by getting a running start from the ledge. It's tricky, but you can do it with no special abilities.
Radagon and Marika being the same person is such an interesting nod to Jungian psychology which the whole game is built around. Really great stuff

Accidentally killed this guy last night because I thought he was part of a band of wandering nobles....whoops!
You get the book and then just jump to a side of Grace, when you actually need to take the book to him and then buy the incantation
