Man, this was beautiful she deserves a ton of recognition, the way she sings and obviusly the muscians behind her voice are masters. Such a beautiful perfomance
I had goosebumps when she translated the lyrics of one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Luigi Tenco was an extraordinary songwriter still he doesn't receive enough credit in italy. grazie gabrielle!
WTF.Has she just been on a Björk listening kick ?!The fact that she is in a Jazz setting at all ,the fact that she is able to get away with ‘this’ is astounding.
Great concert ruined by a terrible sound production !! .......the bass and drums are barely audible in spots . The piano volume is depressed in spots . Are these sound persons musicians ? I doubt it. !! Gabrielle is just brilliant and doesn't deserve a sound production of this inferior quality ! . Excellent apart from the sound production. 8:51
Good lord, no. This is just dead in the water. This level of self-involvement is not good for women in jazz. Also, consider singing the correct lyrics as the composer/lyricist intended.
With your philosophy we would never have had people like Billie Holiday and Chet Baker. She is one of the greatest song interpreters I’ve ever heard even if she changes the lyrics. That’s what jazz is all about. Wouldn’t it be boring if Bird and Oscar Peterson just played the melody?
@@tomchojnowski9215 You're not serious, are you? You're comparing Billie Holiday and Chet Baker, Bird, and Oscar Peterson, true monsters of jazz, to this music? It doesn't swing, at all, it's incredibly self-involved, and the interpretation is average at best. I return to self-involvement. Come on, man. It's lovely to be so generous, but where are we if we can't be a little real?
@@thetrainstoppedhere6753 I’m not comparing her to the masters I’m just saying self involvement is a way to get into the lyrics of the song so you could convey the song better, changing words is no big deal, just about every singer or instrumental performer has changed the words or melody to a song . Where did I say she was like Chet or Billie ?? If you don’t allow the performer to self indulge into to song you would never have Chet , Billie , Ella , Louis ect.
Dude, it's improvisation par excellence, thinking of morons..who lost it when Dylan, went electric, Joshua Redman first CD With a vocalist is ALL That matters...get over it.😅😅

The piano player Ryan is out of this world, the drummer's great with the mallets. Superb the whole effort.
Love your pure beautiful voice, what an instrument by a talented artist! I can hardly wait to see you and Joshua in Minneapolis next week!!!
She’s a fresh and inspired song interpreter and talented vocalist whose future is bright.
Just saw her live in Orlando and was just as good in person... very excited to see what the future brings for her😊
Oh what a lovely new voice of the New❤ Orleans music scene!
That arrangement of “So in Love” Good God Ya’ll!!!
Truly Mesmerizing. Perfect opening!
Look for kd langs version 1990 for the Red Hot & Blue AIDS tribute. The original.. the best version ever!

She is going to perform today (07/07/2024) on Madeira Island. If you take the plain, maybe you will get it 😂

I'm so inspired by her! She kind of makes me think of what Amy Winehouse would have been like if she had gone full jazz 🥺 Gabrielle you are special!!
