Macaws are loud but not noisy, cockatiels are noisy but not loud and cockatoos sound like Satan stubbed his toe
Paleo Motion I love this comment
Paleo Motion 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂
Oh. My. God. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Paleo Motion my cockatiel is really quit but when he makes sound HE SCREAMS
my sun conure doesn’t scream too much, but when she decides to it’s inside my ear
Ouch.
I love sun counres 😍😍❤❤
@@idkgang790 same
I work with exotic birds and the suns ALWAYS scream as soon as I put them on my shoulders.
OMG! That was so funny. My green cheek conure does (well did) the same thing. Now that he passed away I miss it :(
1. Lovebird
2. Budgy
3. Parrotlets
4. Cockatiel
5. Green Cheeked Conure
6. The Pionus
7. Mustache Parakeet
8. African Grey
Tiger T8 I got moustache parakeet (Picasso)
Ben Farrar if they whistle it means there happy if they don’t whistle it means there sad
Not all hero's wear capes
idk about african grey, from all the macaws and african greys i’ve seen, all the macaws doesn’t make huge sounds but the african greys can rip my ears apart with their high pitch voice.
Budgie
My dentist had a cockatiel that lived in the office. That bird was exceptional. He would greet everyone, sit on your finger, put his head down for a pet and kiss you if you were up to it. He had favorite patients but he was lovely with everyone who was open to his attentions. Kids adored him! Did wonders for calming very nervous patients.
So cute 😊
Pigeons are also great for apartments. They coo very softly instead of screaming
brysen strowder yeah, they’re pretty coo l 🤣
No
Lol
Pigeons are not parrots
I have three doves: two females and one male. However the male often coos for minutes on end. I’m nervous about moving into an apartment because of him :/
That comment you made about african greys that copy other birds really brought back memories. I had an african grey and a citren crested cockatoo as a kid. The cockatoo would scream constantly, and me and me brothers, being little kids didn't seem to understand that telling him to be quiet didn't make things any better. Sure enough, the grey started to scream and honk like the cockatoo, and she sounded exactly like him. But you could tell it was her, because every time she would scream like him, she would follow it up with, "Peter, be quiet!"
There's my bird story. I miss having them, they certainly do have a whole lot of attitude
Sabreena Floyd When you don’t want a Cockatoo to scream. You have to not give it attention during that time. By yelling, or yelling the bird to be quiet will enforce the behavior and they learn to scream to get attention, same goes for biting. My cockatoos rarely scream during the day except when customers as take them to work with me and usually the birds copy kids especially play, or cry and then they try to mimic them.
Surprise a Citron crested cockatoo screams, my hahn's macaw was louder than my citron crested cockatoo.
As soon as people find out I have a bird the first thing they say is if she can talk....... my answer is always no.........but she can scream
Nathan Franklin that's what I say.
Lol
I say I have a pigeon and everyone asks “why do you have a pigeon?”
@@wintershock Pigeons are so cute honestly. I have cats so I don't think I can have one, but they are such cuties. I can see why you have a pigeon.
How do u train ur bird??
Yeah, whatever you do... DONT GET A SUN CONURE
They are amazing pets, but they are loud. Not noisy. I have one. She isn’t constantly making noises like a lovebird or budgie. But when she wants to get loud, she’ll get loud! Mine is attached to me, and I believe she thinks I’m her mother, because I have raised her since she was 4 weeks old. You have been warned...
Well i am in a apartment and have sun conures and i think my neighbours wants to fight me
To late for me😑, I have one and he can be loud. I still love him tho!!
I have a 5 months old gold capped conure in an appartment and oh my god can she scream. You can hear from outside on the parkinglot. Haha. Love her and she is family
mine is loud AND noisy 😂
My sun conure was the most loving hands on bird ever.
And she never shut up
To everyone saying stuff like "My (insert bird that was brought up in video) is so loud! Wdym" it's a scale 1-5. If you have ever heard a cockatoo scream, then I can assure you, your budgie is a 1 lol. All birds are loud, she is just relling you the one's that will most likely work the best. All birds are different, and this is mainly based on the general loudness of a bird, but, they vary. So, there is no way you are going to get a bird that doesn't talk or chatter.
You're absolutely right! No two birds are alike. You can have two birds from the same clutch, and they can be completely opposite in temperament or personality. But what she's doing here is giving a general description of each type of bird and how they act. And Claire is absolutely right. EVERY bird will make some type or types of noises and or talk. To what degree yours will????
Yeah, cockatoos and macaws are definitely the worst for noise, I lived with a psychotic cockatoo (who lives with my sister in BC) and currently live with a blue gold macaw, and I personally own a 4 month old cockatiel. The macaw gets loud but so does my cockatiel, the cockatiel is more ear piercing, but the macaw is definitely much louder
I had a budgie and I would give them a scale of 5! That’s why I’d get a pigeon if I ever wanted to get a bird 😂 I had one, he was smart and quiet.
This girl doesn’t even bat an eyelash with her bird literally stomping on her head ❤️❤️
Funny thing. I had a Cockatiel named Benny as my first bird and he actually could say 2 phrases. He could say "Whatcha doing" and "Pretty bird". He wasn't perfect with them but it was enough to know what he was saying. I miss my baby so much.
Giggle Droid what happened to it?
He passed away of respiratory issues and old age.
Does cockatail makes too much noise
I’ve had my green cheek conure for twelve years. She started out as the perfect apartment bird, but when she was five, I lived with a (human) couple who would fight a lot. Their fighting led to my conure developing separation anxiety that would cause her to panic scream when she couldn’t see me (it’s very loud for a small bird and neighbours definitely hear it). I moved out as soon as I could, but the damage was done and she still has remnants of that separation anxiety that make her scream from time to time. I recommend, whenever possible, protecting your birds from human drama (e.g., avoiding unstable roommates), not just to keep their noise level in-check, but to keep them mentally healthy generally.
Did you try training your bird? Training assists in restoring the balance and improve human bond. It also cures biting issues
😳
Check out 'Pebbles the crazy cockatoo' He had some bad owners in the past and can put on some crazy tirades.
Absolutely, my green cheek lived with my mom who had a verbally abusive husband for a while and now my bird is very aggressive and bonded to me alone.
@@craigmanning2439 Pebbles is "CRAZY"! lol A VERY Loving and adorable bird, but when it goes on those tirades wow look out. It's funny how the two bond, get along, and play off each other. I mean Pebbles and his new owner. Sorry I can't think of his name at the moment. Definitely must see videos! UNLESS you're offended by bad language. lol
Here’s a very basic list of the birds discussed:
Lovebirds
Budgies
Parrotlets
Cockatiels
Green-Cheek Conure
Pionus
Mustache Parakeet/Ringneck
African Grey
Thank you
I'd love a Conure species or a Love bird they're my favorite dream secies either Green Cheek Conure or a Sun Conure or a Jenday Conure
Thank you
“I’ll just do this video without you Picasso”
Picasso: “good!”
I have a budgie and he is always saying to me "you are a undomesticated doggo"
LMAO
☆PLEASE READ IF CONSIDERING BUYING PET BIRD☆
Just a small note: most if not all conures are really, reaaaaaallllly chirpy. Sun conures, Jenday conjures, and golden conures especially. They are extremely loud for a reason however. Conures are real attention hogs. They love it. One way to overcome the screams and singing is to keep them engaged! Carry them around with you for I recommend as long as you can throughout the day, and when you have to put them in their cage try to give them foraging toys! I wish all owners good luck!
Get this comment some attention its the most intelligent one in the entire section.
If you are interested in Parrotlets I STRONGLY recommend the Flock Talk channel. Its great for other reasons outside of the Parrotlet group and great for newbies to bird care in general, but people misunderstand them due to lack of education and pet industry hype.
Christine Schwarz that is a great channel. I learned a lot about birds from Flock Talk. There is so much to learn about birds, you can never stop learning. I have my own lovebirds and I have come along way in learning about birds. When learning about birds, look into a lot of videos on a lot of different channels. You never know what priceless bits of knowledge you'll pick up on.
yes yes yes! i learned so much by watching all of her videos which were fun and entertaining. I’m so glad i found her channel as my parrotlet lived a great life and she is so fun to watch and educational
I had one and this was before there was so much great info on the internet. I think he died young from the diet, I didn’t know a seed based diet was bad 🥺
He learned how to say pretty bird, he was so cute
her: lovebirds are not loud, but noisy.
my lovebird: *sCrEEEeeEE----EeeeEEEEEcHHH*
my ears: *AHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
I just brought home my first bird, and she's a lovebird and I live in an apartment! I can already see her personality even though she's scared and not hand tamed. She gets really excited for me to watch her do new things Haha it's adorable.
Picasso is so cute
so is Marlene
I miss him
He smells good
My grandma had an African Grey named Smokey. She was a girl but my grandma didn't know that when she named her lol. I remember going over to her house and playing with Smokey, who must of been the sweetest bird I've ever met, and she never screamed. She talked alot, mostly like "Smokey want a strawberry" and stuff. My grandma had the bird for about 30 years I believe, but recently passed away. Smokey was given to a family member but was obviously devastated. I hope she will pull through and enjoy the rest of her life, their bond was strong though
I have Budgies. They don’t talk but they do scream a lot. 🙄😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❗️❗️❗️❗️
And chatter, my Budgies do a lot of chattering. They only scream when one is out of sight or Simon will scream in the morning when it's time to uncover his cage and feed him and let him out. It's ear piercing when they're sitting right next to your ear.
Jailene Diaz are they tamed?
Merrelltwins4life 123 Most of them are except for 1 that someone wasn’t able to take care of anymore so he gave her to me recently so I’ve been working with her .
I have two budgies, Jade and Winter. Jade tends to scream a lot, old enough to mate but Winter is not. Jade tends to scream at her and annoy her, even when we cover the cage. Jade, he's just a butt sometimes.
Its mostly males that Can learn to talk rarely female Because female are more quiet than males i Got a female and a male budgie the male does chirp more than the female and they are both really bonded to me
I have to say, calling me a "sniffer" might be the most _unique_ introduction I've heard on RUclips
Joe Biden gets called a "sniffer" every day.
Thank you for mentioning parrotlets! They are often ignored.
Agreed, greatest mini-parrots ever !!!
I think parrotlets are much quieter than lovebirds. Lovebirds have a screech like no other lol
Toni I don't know enough about parrotlets to compare, but I have 4 lovebirds and I don't feel they are screech at all. I do think parrotlets are adorable tho!
i LOVE parrotlets, but they're so tricky! i've never gotten one since i dont feel im prepared for a compact parrot lol
All of us budgie owners are laughing so hard at the “quite” scale lol
Victoria grey *quiet
My. Bird is like a alarm that wakes you up like... EH EH EH EH EH EH SCREEEEEECH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH EH
Victoria grey absolutely laughing lol
I have a neighbor with two budgie and when they start communicating with each other I can hear this very well. We have a good isolated apartment building.
They’re one of the smallest parrots but they have insane sets of lungs
I too had a Congo African Grey Companion in my apartment. They, if not trained, can be VERY LOUD. My companion was very socialized and loved meeting new people and was fantasic as an apartment companion.
"your neighbors will probably not hear your budgies" 🤣 you can hear mine from outside the house, they usually scream their heads off early in the morning and later at night lol
Go spend 2 minutes in a room with a ockatoo or hell 2 cockatoos.
My Cockatiel is about 15 years old and he’s loud when anyone in the house moves around or when someone leaves the room without him. The funny thing about him is that he’s bonded to me and if anyone gets close to him such as when I’m at school he will attack them or will start screaming to the point where he falls asleep right after lol.
Bourke Parakeets, Lineolated Parakeets, Turquoisines, Red Rumps, All the parrots in the Poicephalus genus, All the conures in the Pyrrha genus are all quiet birds.
Agreed.
Lineolated parakeets are great i own a green one..
Yes! My turquoise sounds like a little mouse! Too cute. My budgies are SO noisy in comparison !!
Ugh I love linoleated parakeets but I can't find a breeder in Southern Cali 😩
Looking for good Breeder in NC.
apartment dweller here. i have a very open floor plan (around 700 sq ft), vaulted ceilings, no ceiling fans. all of my babies are flighted. i have 2 cockatiels (both whistle and say "pretty bird". one likes kisses, the other, head scratches), a red bellied parrot (pious family - he is fairly independent but does make several noises and he dances and says many things he learned in his previous homes. he flies into my room every morning and says "good morning" in the sweetest cheerful voice) and a hahn's macaw (literally a full sized macaw in a little bird body - he makes kissy noises, says hello, pretty bird and mimicks several noises he hears me say, he also dances lol). the hahns can be loud, but to be honest, my other 3 birds can rival him.
Texaslife43 My cockatiel also says pretty bird whistles and also can say these words good boy, his name which is mocha, good boy mocha, whatcha doing, and come here he’s such a talkative bird. They are the perfect bird. 😂
Who would you say is the quietest?
marquise all of my birds and my cat have their loud moments. it is rare that my house is quiet during the day.
hey sorry this is an old post but i just wanna ask how do you manage to keep those different birds together in the same house without fighting?
I think the Eclectus is a good parrot for apartments. They are not loud, they only get loud if they are suddenly startled by something & they get excited when you come home, they are big greeters. But they are not loud. They are a flock bird, they will include all family members. They don't like a lot of noise and/or chaos. They are very laid back parrots, they can be goofy because they like to see a response from you. They also want attention, affection & interaction, they are very smart & they want to be included in everything. They do require at least 10 hours of sleep & they require a different diet due to their long digestive tract, fiber. But the Eclectus is not a loud bird, my opinion of course & I do favor the Eclectus. Quakers are another good apartment bird. I had a Quaker who was a big talker & he had a huge vocabulary & everything out of his beak was very clear. He was an amazing big talker.
It's 2 am and i'm laughing so hard because of the outtakes😂😂
I had a budgie as a child. It was a great pet! My parents adopted it from a friend when it was around 3-4 years. He lived another 10+ years! He was a very bright bird. He didn’t like to be petted or scratched, but was otherwise very friendly. He liked to play, but wouldn’t bother me if I was busy. We never clipped his feathers because he knew not to fly into the fan. I’d never met another budgie so clever as him. I cried when we found him dead after returning from a weekend with my grandparents. We gave him a Christian Burial and also said a Hebrew prayer just in case.
My African Grey does well in an apartment. She can whistle but doesn't squalk or scream.
Those are expensive and can live longer than humans. You sure you're gonna keep him/her that long?
MoJo Pro I’m sure a stranger on the internet doesn’t need to remind him about his own pet. Im sure he’s really dedicated, without needing reminders lol
daisy posie yeah lol
@@MoJoProfessional Im sure their aware. Either way birds like that almost always outlive their owners and need rehomed, doesn't matter if your aware if it or not
just leaving a lil note bc you’ve inspired me so much:
i’m turning 17 in a few days & i plan on getting a bird for my 18th birthday (i’m planing a lot & trying to prepare myself bc i’ve never had a bird!) ive never even interacted with a bird! but my love is so strong! i don’t have any bird places near me so it’s so cool to get to see your videos. i’m hoping i can find a conure that fits with me & my lifestyle. anyway that was sorta long and unnecessary but i just wanted to say thank you! thank you for sharing your birds with me!
note: none of my plans are for sure, just dreams. & ofc id do it right. i’ve been preparing for about a year now & i have at least a whole other year to plan
literally in the same boat, been doing mounds of research so when i finally move out im prepared to take proper care of my new companion
I know it’s not common as a household pet, I will say I adore my coturnix quail pair. They’re not a farm animal for me, they’re my homies.
Im on team lovebird! Such a big personality in tiny package.
This is largely missed, but I think a tamed or hand raised canary or finch makes the perfect apartment bird. Mostly because they cannot destroy furniture, and for busy people, they won't be stressed if you leave them for some time
I love how she's so chill when her bird climbs to the top of her head LOL
First time I went to my aunts house in 10+ years, she left for work and I heard a fire/smoke alarm and freaked out. It kept stopping and starting and I was so so confused. Her African Gray was copying a smoke alarm. It was NOT quiet😂 but that’s because he was copying a loud sound
Conure are amazing apartment birds! I have a green cheek. She never screams. She talks, and if she is mad or wants attention beeps like a smoke detector.
As a kid,I had a lot of parakeets.
15 years ago I got a cockatiel.
He’s my constant companion, loves my dogs, and even my cat.
He also flys back and forth with me,when I’m swimming laps.
Bear in mind,I got him very young, and spent a lot of time with him.
My cockatiel always wants to be on me. Wherever I go in the house he has to be with me even from the kitchen table to the counter
mine is the same. since he's molting and hormonal right now, he screams if he's more than 3 feet from me.
Same
Same
Does cockatail makes too much noise
I totally understand how your so in love with birds I have an African grey and she's my life I can't imagine life without her, its those gorgeous eyes and that self preservation attitude I love.
It’s like you made this video at the most perfect time, I just move into my own apartment
Nadia Nicole Thats nice
“Okay I’ll just do this without you... Picasso...”
“REEEEE”
My budgies (male and female) mumble “hello” and “I love you” and a few other words
3:14 _parrot gets on head_
Doesn’t miss a beat, I love that!
I would also add as a cousin to the African Grey, the Red Bellied Parrot. Ours speaks very well (not as well as a grey :)) and very friendly. She is quiet, very rarely screams and if she "screams" it is not even close to the noise my Blue Crown makes. She can be chatty, and when she talks she is very clear. Other bonus, while when out and about she will cuddle with our green cheek, she also still likes hanging out with my husband or I.
Me, watching this 5 year old video while my 5 month old lovebird is trying to tear up my mouse cable. And also me, smiling like an idiot because the 1st birds were lovebirds.
Subbed!
Welcome aboard!!!
Pigeons are quite calm quiet birds. Extremely intelligent as well. Very affordable easy to care for. Very underrated in pet world IMO
yeah, but you need to place a nice shiny car underneath their cage, so they feel more comfortable while pooping.
@@alexpetrik2395 😂
cockatiels are motor engines of chaos and i love mine
Oh my Cockatiel is very loud lol . Maybe louder then others . I always wonder when people say how quiet there’s are . My guys sings and chirps reallly loud for long periods of time
Same thing with my green cheek. People always say they are super quiet but my little ruby enjoys a nice yell
Burritoninja52 lol my GC mumbles and makes noise constantly but he is quiet . My Tiel is so loud lol . I love him and don’t really mind his noise but he is my loudest
Burritoninja52 lol a nice yell 😂 sounds like my parakeet
My auntie had a cockatiel and he was so loud he just kept screaming and making loud noises when I went to visit
My green cheek started talking three days after I had her! She says baby, love you and BABYBEAN! (Which is her name) it startled me when I first heard her cuz I never expected her to talk
I loved this video! I would definitely add the Monk parakeet “Quaker parrot” to the list. They’re great, cuddly, companions that usually prefer one person and sometimes will throw a fit and scream but for the most part they’re calm and quite a character!! 😂💕
Perfect timing with this video! I just recently started seriously looking into getting a bird. Thank you so much!!! My dream bird is a parrotlet and you definitely cemented all of the research I've done so far. So excited!
After 3 years of thinking and planning, I have finally decided that I will get a birdy companion after college. The problem mostly is that I have asthma but I genuinely LOOOVE birds. I helped rehabilitate and release wild birds growing up so I'm not new to caring for young and adult birds but I AM new to the "domestics". Thank you to anyone that takes the time to respond 😘
I love cockatiels, they love to cuddle, and get head scratches!! I now have a love bird, his name is Romeo as he’s such a lover!! He’s very quiet, he doesn’t make a sound until I uncover his cage! If you want a strong bond, only get one bird!! If you get another bird, those two birds will bond to each other and you will lose your bond to that initial bird! It broke my heart when I was given another cockatiel and my Angel bonded to Gabby and then he didn’t want to step up anymore, and when she was on eggs, he’d even attack me…… hope this helps!
marlene: one of my favorites and you guys know it.
cody: wow, im not ur favorite? bye.
I love all your birds, but Cody here was really cute 😂 climbing on your head like "mommy's a living perch!" 😂
TsukabuNosoratori2 my friends goffin is like that. If I try to get him off my head he'll get real mad lol
Idk my budgies were always so excited they loved screaming and living it up all the time
Never loud enough to hurt your ears but always loud enough to grate your nerves at times LOL. Such is the way
My mother had a cockatiel when she was younger, he was super friendly, she could even stick it's head in her mouth and it'd just sit there.
My uncle has a Sun Conure, named Biggie, loud as heck, I couldn't sit in the living room, or eat at the kitchen table, with earplugs I could, but he was a pretty little bird.
I’ve had parrotlets and they were VERY feisty. They did have their lovely moments and cute moments. They are quiet, but quite sassy.
Correction : “If you need absolute peace and quiet... dont get a bird”
;)
Ok thank you:-)
overtime's house what about pigeons or doves their coos are SOO soothing and relaxing
👍
@@ahnafamer4239 They’re great, but they’re not parrots
Marlene: budgies are so cuddly and playful :)
My birds when i get close: eeeEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAA
I mean I have 2 budgies and a 3 story house and when they talk I can hear them from upstairs 😂😂
Sounds like it definitely can depend on the personality of the bird.
I can hear someone’s budgies two rows of houses up with a road between each row of houses.... they are loud!!!!
Where is Batman same! Nothing quiet about my budgies
I can hear mine from the parking lot. I live on the 6th floor
Lol
I got a parrotlet because everyone told me that they were much quieter than lovebirds, and I had lovebirds when I was a teenager, and they were LOUD and chirped CONSTANTLY. Well it turns out that my parrotlet SCREAMS CONSTANTLY, and ALL DAY. Every time he hears a bird outside, or a car alarm, or a door close, or the wind blow, or anything at all, he starts to SCREAM and chitter for 20 minutes or more. Screaming is pretty much his favorite activity
A perk of the lovebird is it comes with a very reliable 7 AM alarm. Every day.
Theherosamich • lmaooooo
I have a macluchan cockatoo 34yrs old reliable alarm @730
I own a cockatiel and it’s my first bird as well!!!! He is amazing and he will constantly talk all the time and will whistle the Andy Griffith theme. And anytime he sees Nick Cage. It’s really funny !
I have a budgie and he is the sassiest little bird I have ever met. He is also rather loud and will make a very odd crow sound that interrupts all conversation but adds a comedic break.
I have 2 Budgies, and a Cockatiel. My budgies can imitate my whistling, but not extremely. My Cockatiel can sing and whistle. I will send a video of my birds on Parrot Station!
Fargesia murieliae ‘Jumbo’

I'm actually getting a green cheek conure soon, been looking for months now! I've always had budgies, from when I was little until last year when my little girl passed away :( Can't wait to get a little featherfriend again
sorry for your loss. excited for the new addition. congrats.
I grew up with buddies, but my first pet when I got my first apartment was my Jenday Conure, Tango. He's an awesome bird. Overall, he's quiet 90% of the time and is a huge cuddler. He loves kisses and head scratches.
Good luck with your new friend
We have a green cheek Conure...... he’s super noisy and super loud! If we have a lay in he screams and shouts because it’s out of his normal routine lol
Gurl same
my first bird is an African Grey, my roommate had the one i have taken over now because she fell in love with me as soon as i moved in and he is too busy to take care of her while i have all the time in the world for her, have never met a bird as lovely as Jaco and when i let her out for the whole of the day she flies over to my gaming chair and jumps unto my desk for head pats so often we are surfing RUclips while she gets all the head pats :3
I had a green cheek conure for a while when I was younger. (I was 12 when I got her.) She was very sweet, BUT got really moody every now and then. I never minded it as her love for cuddles definitely outweighed it! I loved her a lot, but unfortunately my brother’s Quaker parrot killed her. I have no clue how, but I got home and it was too late. :(
I love green cheeks so much still. Their personalities are great too!!
Hi her hair looks great ... Even tho a Bird is walking all over it amazing
When I was 7, a cockatiel flew in my grandparents apartment from outside. He was to me what you first parrot was to you. I've had others after him but he was the best companion that I've ever had.
That african grey be like "HUH? WHAT U SAY HOOMAN?? HUUUH HUH??" His movements soooo fucjing curious
Thank you!! I'm in an apartment and my daughter is 7 and I think she's ready for her first bird. I've had cockatiels when I was little so we'll be getting one soon ❤️ I also thought about a mustache parakeet and a conure but they seem so loud. Cute but loud!
After much research, i chose a Green Cheeked Conure for my first bird and I currently live in an apartment. She is a joy, does make a little noise when I'm in a different room, but nothing extreme. A big bonus is that she is just a little goofball and loves to make me laugh.
I saw a Conure in the store that rolled over in its cage and was trying to get belly rubs and pets.
It was acting like a cat the way it rubbed along the glass and chirped.
Ever since one stared at me and began to dance I fell in love with it
I miss the Eclectus my dad came home with when I was like 10 years old. Verdi was so good at talking and whistling, he even whistled the first few measures of Beethoven's 9th Symphony. Despite being a larger bird, he really was rather quiet most of the time, more so than the 2 cockatiels we had. When he screamed, it was loud obviously, but it happened sooooo rarely. He just chattered a lot. We didn't get to keep him for more than a few years (we sold him to an experienced bird owner), and I've missed him for the last 12 or 13 years ever since. I just hope he's still alive and happy out there.
A Linnie parakeet they are perfect super sweet they will love anyone but the person they spend time with most will be there favourite I had one she loved all my family she just died yesterday
I have a Peach Faced Lovebird in my apartment and she is attached to me at the hip (well, shoulders haha). Man, she is such a bright and sweet bird! She loves to make kissy noises, take showers with me, be on me and just hangout. Sometimes she just wants to snuggle in my hand haha! She loves her little head scratched, she attempts to dance to music, squeaks when I whistle to her... She will be 2 years old in July, I adopted her when she was 9 weeks old. I love my little baby, Piper.
The African grey is awesome. I love the color on them.
Marlen,
You created a beautiful video for those of us who already have a parrot and those thinking about getting one and those who are researching getting a parrot. Always a commitment for a very long time and a life long loving companion.
Thank you,
Cockatiel mom
Lineolated Parakeets are perfect apartment birds!
I have a parrotlet & her noise is definitely a 1. she loves to chatter to herself but doesnt squak & is not loud at all. I live in an apartment & no one knows I have her lol. they are wayyyy more feisty than budgies for sure
Im so sad that lineolated parakeets are never considered! Such fantastic birds.
I think that the budgie should be a 2-3 on the loud scale. I have had then and they can get VERY loud. Sometimes they scream and you just want to beg them to stop. Of course, it all depends on the bird but I have / had quite a few and they definitely might not be the best apartment bird.
they're technically not parrots, but i have a pair of diamond doves in my apartment. they're quiet and incapable of screaming; they just coo softly. i love my girls very much and they're great pets!
I had a budgie for years and we had so much fun. He was free to fly and happy.
They can give you a little bit of chill to the bone. That just sounds funny
Could you make a video on African grey care? I’m considering getting one but I’m doing my research, so it would be pretty helpful for some more sources
I had a Cocktail for many years, she was such a wonderful bird. After her I got a budgie pair but encountered a problem, they constantly scream, wake me up every morning, which I am not used to after living with my quiet cocktail. They are so loud that they can be heard by my neighbors.
I'm obsessed. I want a bird so bad. I watch videos way too much.
So Jersey not a great apartment bird?? hahaha
I love birds and vicariously enjoy them through you, Marlene. I am however the kind of person who shouldn't own a bird. I am a cat person and part of that is due to the fact that cats are so independent. They don't take a lot of care and take their socializtion when they want it. My personality is so insular that integrating birds into my life would be difficult. I mention all this because you make owning a bird look so rewarding and easy... People need to keep their own temperments in mind because parrots deserve great owners, not just someone who wants one because they seem fun...
Good for you for knowing your limits! I grew up with cats and switched to birds in my 30s. Some birds are good at self regulating, but many are more attached to their person than the average house cat.
Well cats can move around freely and even go outside and explore the world. Our beloved birds are in their cages for most of the day.
Vc it depends on the lifestyle of each home. I know my birds don't spend most of their time in cages.
so sweet to keep the birds with u , u must be a good heart i love birds
n animals
hey marlene love your videos! i have a male parottlet and on the loud scale i would say hes about a 6 he can get loud! also he loves to say peekaboo so cute!
I have a green cheek he loves cuddles and talks heaps. He screams Daddy when dad walks in. He plays peek a boo and extremely intelligent. I recommend green Cheeks!
Typically the male lovebirds are better at mimicking. My girl, Belle, has picked up the smooching sound of a kiss, clicking sounds, and if she does something funny that makes me laugh she'll copy my laugh. It's hilarious.
I used to have a white as snow budgie and she spoke so well!
Now I have my super sweet (and sometimes grumpy) African Grey
