@@uglyduckling81 Check out Lexicanum, there are in fact a number of Shield Hosts within the Custodes that have different colour schemes, as every factions has a number of sub-factions.
While seeing non-Gold Custodes is a bit alien, they are elegantly and subtly painted with enough red and gold to work. Really beautiful, even if a 19 model list is such a risk to a turn of bad saves.
Both armies look wonderful. Den of Imagination does amazing work. Props to Nic for selecting the Solar Watch colour scheme for his Custodes Very classy, not gaudy at all like "regular" Custodes. I know, I know - HERESY! Amazing how far 1750 points of Orks can go. I was surprised at how few Custodes there were. Quality over quantity - that's the Emperor's way!
"Loot the initiative." is a wonderful way to put it Winters. Keep at it with the orks mate... definitely one of the most fun armies in the game for those with a merry heart! :)
Just want to say that I really appreciate the post-game breakdown of what went which way, how things could have gone differently, and so on. I think we all do it, so it's nice to see happening on screen.
At aroud 41:00, in the melee, the power claw attacks couldn't be allocated to the shield custodes, because there was a wounded model there already. Only one model can be wounded at a time in a unit.
There wasn't, Guard have 3 wounds, and one was killed, no other wounds were allocated to the other spear Guard, therefore, he could use the shield for the claw.
That was the most impressive Custodes showing I've seen so far. Very decisive. Nice battle that was was a real shoot out. I will be subscribing to Deployment Zone after I retire October 1st.

i've used Deathskulls from the moment the new codex came out and they're so much more versatile than the other clans. The free re rolls are amazing for the random ork weaponry or when you need that extra hit or wound in combat. The invulnerable is amazing and so is the ability that their infantry get objective secured. I run a small detachment of bad moons which feature lootas :)
At 1:32:40, Winters could have fallen back with Boss Nob, which is troops, thereby contesting Obj 1 against the 1 Custodes within 3" and then moved the Wierdboy. 1 ObjSec vs 1 ObjSec + 1 non-ObjSec means the Orks would've held it at the end of the turn
What I've learned by playing them and playing against them is their relative fragility. You make your invul saves in the first two turns, you table the enemy. You loose a couple of units early, you've already lost.
Another great bat rep. I am starting my second Waaagh! in over 10 years. I'm running evil sunz because red ones go faster! Love that you are using the killa wartrike and dragsta. I'm using them as well and love the models. I'm about to purchase 6 meganobz myself because I just want to see the look in my opponents face when I jump them right in front of something big that needs a proper smashing and bashing. I'm also about to email you to purchase 40 of those cool dice. I love them!

hitting on 2s, rerolling 1s. we hear this over and over again throughout this video. it's such incredible accuracy, 35/36 shots will hit. approx 97% accuracy. even worse than this, we also hear the same stats for wounding, and it's single model doing many many rolls per turn. Those Custardies are tough!
I am not so sure about the turn 2 when the lootas shot the Caladius. It was in cover and it probably was obscured so 3's would have been enough! Also the S7 shots on the Telemon do have -2 AP and 1 damage.
I saw the other battle with Custodes vs mortarian/chaos army list (mostly melee) and Custodes didnt do too well but scratched by to win the day. I went into this video thinking it would be a good melee mash up but the Custodes shots were bang on absolutely crushing. Id like to see a rematch with the 2melee army list same factions. When the Custodes Dread turned on the 1 ork unit and wiped them, then the tanks, then the jet bike captain and the 2 faild moral checks it was game over, and naritively rightly so
I'm no expert of the game but at the end of round 1 did the custodes not still hold objective 2 as they have the rule sworn guardians which in a straight custodes list allows units to hold objectives despite there being more opponent models.
Where does it say the mek guns don’t get klan kulture abilities? I don’t see anything in the codex that exempts them. I see that it explicitly says Gretchin and kills kans are exempt but no mention about the killa kan

What sword did he use instead if the stock broad sword on the guards? 2nd what are those helmets from the shield captain's from? Greetings!

Quick question that I haven't sen anywhere else, are you guys not using the rule of 3? Just with you saying that all of the Mek Gunz with tractor cannons are separate units it wouldn't be legal for match play. At least that is my understanding of the rules. Once you break 2000 points you are allow 4 detachments and 4 of a kind in an army by the FAQ if I am remembering correctly. Its easily solved by sticking 2 of them in a unit, but with you planning on taking a list like this to a tourney I wanted to ask the question.

Victor of the bloodgames doesn't allow you to reroll damage. its only hit, wound and save....
And the 6 shot profile of the telemon is -2 not -1. Wouldn't have affected that battle though but it is good to know! Nice batrep as always

You just need enough power klaws.
What I've learned by playing them and playing against them is their relative fragility. You make your invul saves in the first two turns, you table the enemy. You loose a couple of units early, you've already lost.
They're a bit weaker now, with the new "full" ForgeWorld rules for them. Still strong, but not as strong.
The terrain looks great and the miniatures look excellent.

The Tellemon does not have POTMS as far as I can see. So when moving he shouls have the -1.

Custodes shooting with rerolls is absolutely brutal. It's bad enough they hit with 2s with that reroll it's like they never miss sometimes.
It's roughly a 97.2% hit chance. When your entire army is only a few models, every one of those shots needs to go through.
