Hi Richard was just about to install the latest sets/ programs that you sent me when i saw your latest video which i thought was very well done and very clearly explained .It gave me a lot of confidence and all four sets were successfully installed. Many thanks and I hope there is more of the same to follow. Kind regards Tom
Thank you thank you so very much. I have bought an FR3XB (got it yesterday) and I struggled to understand the instructions in the manual. Your wonderful video has clarified so much I am extremely grateful! I will get to grips with it and will no doubt contact you for your user sets. Thanks again
Hi, Richard. I just purchased my FR 3x and have been trying to use your instructional video to load a User Set. I'm not a programmer, so it's a challenge to process User Sets correctly. Would you please contact me to help understand Loading User Sets and Program?
Richard, excellent video explaining and showing how to modify parameters and load user sets / programs. Thanks for your effort doing this. Watching just a few minutes of your video total makes the manual a bit more understandable. One suggestion is perhaps you could explain WHY a player wants sets and programs. Because these terms change definitions on other keyboards. I just got my FR-3X yesterday so I'm still making the translation. But are "Programs" used to setup ALL settings for a particular song or type of song for use during live performance? If I'm going to play a 6 song party and each song has different instruments assigned to keys, would I define those in a PROGRAM and then use that program to call up the 6 settings, one for each song? I need to experiment more. thanks
User programs are like "registrations" in other instruments. A big disadvantage of the 3x is that it has only 10 user programs that can be stored at a time. You could save them to a flash drive and load a different bank of user programs for each song. There are some potential complications of that approach, depending on whether you create user programs from the factory sets or from the 4 user sets. (It's complicated....) Anyway, my approach has been to create 10 user programs that satisfy the needs for nearly all the songs I might play, rather than loading a new banks for each song. Or you can play in "set mode" which gives you access to more sounds but requires many more button presses. I may not have answered your question adequately--if not, just email me. You can do that initially through my web site, www.noelaccordion.com if you don't have my usual email address.
Another interesting video Richard. Very nicely explained and not at all frightening as the user manual can imply. Of course, I only have the original FR-7 and can only dream of being able to acquire an "x" model (well, not until employment returns to Eire!) There seems to be more possibilities of "customising" the "x" models than there are on the original - am I correct in assuming this? Best wishes, Mike
Yes, I'd say it's easier to customize the x series, although only the 3x cannot do nearly as much as the 7x. The FR-7 remains a very useful instrument, and I was happy with it until I got the 7x.
I've had the FR1x for about 6 mo, and found the keyboard limiting so am now going to the FR3x, (can't afford more). My question is about the Programs one might construct and save on a flash drive. Is there any help , advice or tutorrials about setting up and saving programs to a flash drive?
Check my web site at www.noelaccordion.com, and go to the Digital Accordionist page. You'll see resources for most of the v-accordions, including information about purchasing sets and user programs.
Hi Richard. Thank you for these videos. I too am having trouble uploading the Roland SETs (Alpine, Dallape, AccOrchestra) onto a Flash drive using the Roland Editing Software interface. Was wondering if you have any tutorials on how to do that? You linked your site here, but I can't seem to find any information regarding how to set up your Flash drive. Thank you
So, does the set changing simply rearrange the samples within the instrument? Or can new sounds be uploaded into instrument, like the samples from the FR-7x for example, or that is not possible?

You see, it's an accordion. I bit more advanced to use than say, an iPhone. In other words, this video is not for beginners. I think after reading the manual this video would make more sense.

I do not understand anything you are explaining.

Agreed,!
I'm not understanding this video.
